Abstract

Infrared sensor and photodiode is widely used in a wide variety of applications, ranging from the military field, health and so forth. Infrared sensor and photodiode can detect any objects that pass nearby, it is because the infrared sensor and photodiode has a high sensitivity. The railway gate security system, infrared sensor very helpful. The secutiry systems designed using LabVIEW can work by monitoring sensors connected to the microcontroller Arduino Uno. The program on Arduino microcontroller designed by entering commands to be execute. To run the simulations, LabVIEW and Arduino should be interfaced first in order to communicate well. Abstract

The worst network performance of “3” network provider at Building C, Faculty of Engineering has affected to the users in download / upload data from internet. Walking test measuremeat has performed and showed that average power level at each floor is -95,59 dBm. It does not meet 3GPP standard. Therefore, this paper presents the design of femtocell network for 3G indoor communication at Building C, Faculty of Engineering, University of Riau by using Radio Wave Propagation Simulator (RPS). There are two design considerations need to be calculated such as coverage area and network capacity. In terms of coverage area, four (4) Femtocell Access Points (FAPs) are required for each floor. However for netwok capacity, the FAPs are not distibuted equally for each floor, two (2) FAPs are required for 1st and 2nd floor, five (5) FAPs are required for 3rd floor. Three (3) scenarios for FAPs position are performed in this simulation; FAP is at the middle, corner, and random of ceiling. The best simulation results are obtained for random position which gives coverage area of -36.19 dBm and the lowest Signal Interference Ratio (SIR) of 1.50 dB. Abstract

The 5G technology is the next phase of wireless network communication development. Adaptation of Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) techniques into 5G technology is used to produce high data rate communication, low power consumption and bigger network capacity compared to 4G technology. Antenna design that can work on millimeter waves with high gain, better efficency and compact size antenna is needed for 5G mobile devices. This paper proposed the design of MIMO antenna for 5G smartphone application with gain>10 dBi and bandwidth>500 MHz. The proposed antenna is designed by RT Duroid 5880 substrate with the overall size of 44,8x4,4x078 mm3, consisting of 1x6 element linear array antenna. The proposed antenna yields bandwidth of 5,68 GHz at frequencies range 36.05 GHz to 41.74 GHz and 11.4 dBi of gain at 38 GHz frequency.Keyword: Antenna Smartphone, 5G, Beam steerable, MIMO.

Abstract

By increasing number of users / devices, the Coded Random Access application is suitable for use enable wireless access successfully in super congested networks. Usage problems Coded Random Access prohibitions emerged. Stop sets are dangerous structures, where none exist another way for multiple users stuck in a set to be decoded. Set stop by degree distribution. This paper presents a probability analysis of the stopping set coded random Access to Internet of Thing (IoT) with Multi User Detection (MUD) capability. It uses MATLAB R2016a as a proving tool. The result of this research is used as an assessment of future IoT network performance. The result is done that this research has a high chance of being accurate and very practical. Then, a new graph stopping set for MUD with a constant 2 is found in the simulation results. Number of user / device randperm, ˄ (x) and G affect the probability of the set out of the CRA for IoT networks. Abstract

Microstrip antenna as a communcation device has small dimension with good receiving signal ability, this microstrip antenna is a technology that can be used on a wireless network application with high rate data speeds. Microstrip antenna is very suitable for wireless body area network (WBAN) applications. This microstrip antennas are small, designed in such a way that can be used daily without causing bad image effects for user apperance. WBAN device can be implemented in various fields such as industry, science and medical (ISM). The result of the antenna design is carried out by simulation process using applications. The target results from the antenna are: frequency 2.4 GHz, return loss ≤ -10 dB, dan VSWR ≤ 1.9.Keyword: microstrip antenna, wireless body area network, return loss, VSWR

Abstract

This study aims to gather information to count the number of vehicles come to University of Riau in real time and remotely using LoRa protocol, as one of kind data transmission can reach long distance. By counting the number of vehicles that enter every day, the University of Riau can use this data for studying materials in the construction of roads or parking area, that it can provide sufficient facilities in University of Riau.The LoRa protocol is one kind of the Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) access technologies with wide range of characteristics, and easy to activation of devices. In this study, ultrasonic sensor is used to count the number of vehicles that enter daily to University of Riau. Data from ultrasonic measurement is going to sent to laboratorium electro with is approximately 2 kilometers using three point,measurement point, repeater point, and data observation point. Measurements is conducted one workday in the University of Riau environment. The results of this study are obtained that the number of vehicles come to the University of Riau is 1561 unit vehicle in 8 hours, also the reliability of the LoRa protocol used result in number for data transmission, range of transmission distance between 1-2 km, strong signal reception in average -97,47 dB, signal to noise ratio (SNR) as a quality of delivery parameters is 10,63 dB, and the value of the error frequency is -142,82 Hz that exists in data transmission on LoRa. Abstract

The Very High Frequency (VHF) Gound to Air (A/G) Approach Control Service (APP) Radio device consists of a transmitter and a receiver. Each transmitter and receiver consists of main transmitter (primary) and backup (standby / secondary). VHF A / G that has a frequency limit of 118-137 MHz. The power emitted by the VHF-A / G antenna within the APP area is in the range of 30-50 Watts. The control of VHF-A / G communication performance is carried out in the APP area when the airplane is at altitudes ranging from 0-20000 ft outside the airport lane. In this case, the Transmitter and Receiver have a level of reliability that supports the equipment performance. Moreover, it is the MTBF and the condition of the equipment that act as reference in determining the increase of Reliability. Based on the data, it showed that the reliability of the MTBF from 2017-2018 remained constant, there was no significant change, which was 36.78%. The condition of the reliability VHF A/G APP primary in 2016 was 60% and secondary 100%, meanwhile in 2017 was 53% and 93%, and in 2018 was 46.67% and 86.67%. After obtaining the reliability value, it is adjusted to the readability (Readibility) of ATC and the pilot uses the Level Indicator method. Readibility produced in 2018-2019 from VHF APP primary obtained scale 4. In the meantime, due to the disturbance on the secondary scale that occurred at the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019, the readability got scale 1.Keywords: Reliability, Readibility, MTBF, Condition , Level Indicator, VHF A/G

Abstract

Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Early detection is the best solution for cancer treatment. One of the most promising technologies in the field of medical diagnosis is Ultra-wideband (UWB) microwave imaging technology, because it does not have ionizing properties (Non-Ionizing) and low cost. This paper will propose the design of flexible antenna for brain tumor detections. The proposed antenna is designed using polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) as a substrate. The simulation results show flexible antenna is work at 5.8 GHz frequency with -29.54 dB value of return loss, 1.06 value of VSWR, 3.1 GHz bandwidth at frequency range of 4.78-7.88 GHz. The radiation pattern is bidirectional and its gain is 2.34 dB. Keywords: Brain tumor detections, Flexible antenna, polydimethylsiloxane, ultra-wideband.

Abstract

According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), in 2020, palm oil is the first commodity in Riau Province. Until 2020, the total area of oil palm land in Riau province reached 2,424,545 hectares. As a leading commodity, it is necessary to monitor land accurately and periodically to control the productivity of oil palm land Unmanned aerial photography technology or commonly called Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) can support spatial data providers on a fairly large scale. In addition to being effective and efficient both in terms of cost and time of use, UAVs can also produce fairly clear photos. The mapping process can also be done automatically with aerial photo processing software. This research was conducted in Kandis District on land owned by Mr. Legimin with an area of 30 hectares using a SkyWalker fixed wing UAV. The steps used in this research are drone preparation, flight altitude planning, drone testing on the ground, camera calibration settings, taking aerial photos, viewing aerial photos, then analyzing aerial photos. Aerial photos are combined to form a mosaic of upright photo images, namely Orthophoto which is the basis for making a fairly accurate map of oil palm land.Keywords: Palm Oil, Aerial Photos, UAV

Abstract

The increased number of users and distance of communication, it caused the network quality decreased in the Device-To-Device (D2D) communication system. In this paper, simulation on D2D unicast by using SimuLTE software is presented. This is in order to evaluate the effect of the number of users and the distance to the quality of D2D network in terms of Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) and Throughput Media Access Control (MAC) on downlink and uplink condition. From the simulation results, the distance which is greater than 50 meters resulted in the decrease of Channel Quality Indicator (CQI). However, Throughput Media Access Control (MAC) on downlink is better than the uplink condition. The increased number of users reduces the MAC throughput in both uplink and downlink conditions. Thus, as a conclusion, the quality of the D2D network has better performance in short distance rather than long distance with a few number of users.Keyword : D2D Communication, SimuLTE, CQI, Throughput MAC
