Abstract

Currently, the Department of Electrical Engineering, Universitas Riau is still using paper documents for internship and final project registration. Thus, the archives that have been stored in a place will be potentially be lost. This is due to human error in management or other reasons. All paper documents need a lot of time, resulting long response to be completed. To overcome this problem, a revolution of online information system is needed in order to save time and provide fast response. The designed online information system is successfully performed using Basic Language and Ms Access as a database for standalone, and MySQL database for website application.Keywords: Internship, Thesis, Database, Website.

Abstract

Long Term Evolution - Advanced (LTE-A) is a 4G wireless broadband technology based on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). It provides improved system capacity and coverage, high peak data rate and low latency. OFDM technology is used to reduce the Intersymbol Interference (ISI), however it increases the effect of Intercell Interference (ICI) due to single frequency used. The high ICI will give affect to the perfomance of users at the cell edge and cell centre. To avoid the ICI, the ICI management is required.In this paper, the ICI management is described. There are three schemes are analyzed such as Frequency Reuse 1 (FR1), Fractional Frequency Reuse (FFR), Soft Frequency Reuse (SFR). From the simulation results, the best results are provided by SFR. Abstract

In recent years, research on microstrip antennas is increasingly being develoved for the needs of inovations, performance, and better efficiency improvements in upcoming 5G wireless communication. Inthis research, a microstrip antenna is designed by using metamaterial superstrate which operates at 38 GHz communication to increase gain and bandwidth in antenna. The design have been simulated using CSTMicrowave Studio. The dimension used in the metamaterial superstrate layer are 4.8 × 10 mm. Simulation results show that the antenna design using the metamaterial superstrate can increase bandwidth up to 1.05GHz and gain increase up to 1.8 dBi. In this design, it was later design a MIMO 4×4 with patch distance of 1.98 mm and increase gain up to 5.2 dBi. The use of metamaterial superstrate techniques has the potential tobe used in various communication aplications.Keyword : Antenna, Gain, Metamaterial, Microstrip, Superstrate.

Abstract

Communication technology development are growing to the 5G era, where there is a significant increase in performance compared to previous generations. The occurrence of improvement and mobile wireless service in the future, there are still some issues that can not be accommodated even by today's 4G, such as high data rates, area coverage and low energy consumption. Therefore, 5G technology will solve the problem and the need to improve efficiency and network capacity, increase data rate with better coverage on low power consumption. This research will design microstrip antenna MIMO (multiple input multiple output) 4x4 with Metamaterial CSRR (Complementary Split-Ring Resonator), which works at a frequency of 28 GHz and 38 GHz using CST Microwave Studio software, The antenna is designed by using RT-duroid 5880 substrate with a thickness of 1.575 mm. The simulation results obtained for MIMO 4x4 are the return loss value of -25.916 dB and -25.697, the bandwidth for frequency 28 is 15.89% (4.45 GHz) and frequency of 38 5.92% (2.25 GHz), VSWR (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) ≤ 1.106 and ≤ 1.109 and gain ≥ 10,5 dBi.Keywords: Return loss, Bandwidth, VSWR, gain

Abstract

WiMAX technology has high data transfer speed, large access range and mobility capability. To access the WiMAX network required Customer Premise Equipment (CPE). CPE require a little dimension antenna and integrated it easily. Therefore, microstrip antenna is a good candidate for this application.  This paper, discuss design of 6 elements planar array rectangular microstrip patch antenna that can be used for CPE WiMAX application in 3.3 GHz (3.3-3.4 GHz). Microstrip antenna is designed using Aperture Coupled technique to improve the bandwidth. The design and simulation of microstrip antenna require Ansoft HFFS v.13. The simulation results show that antenna can operates in 3.3-3.4 GHz frequency. The value of the impedance bandwidth is 203.5 MHz (3.2405 to 3.444 GHz) or 6.09 % at VSWR ≤ 1.5 and gain is 7.4358 dBi. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to helping students of University of Riau adding major that they wanted during KRS schedule. This system was build and develop using MySQL database. The system has web-based for a website and sms-based for adding major students which message sent to sms gateway server, and will be process using trigger and distribute to tables that has been created. Next step, the system get the information from student’s message that will be process and will get reply message (autoreply) for noticing students their message have sent and processedThe result of this research is to give students the alternative way to adding major during KRS schedule, and that is using sms gateway technology while student can’t get access to the internet and can’t KRS done on schedule. Abstract

Microstrip transparent antenna investigated and optimized for a vehicular communication system, facilitating vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle to roadside communication. The antenna operated at frequency of 5.8 GHz with the substrate used is glass Aght-4. This paper presents the simulated antenna with panthom using software CST Microwave Studio. From the simulation the results obtained are gain of 4.33 dBi with directional radiation - pattern at frequency 5.8 Ghz. Keywords: Advanced Traffic Management System, Microstrip Antenna Transparent.

Abstract

Improved quality of Long Term Evolution (LTE) network can be do it by analyze the performance and coverage each of operator in Indonesia. Signal strength among of telecomunication operator was not in the same performance and individual location. Parameter that determining signal strenght and quality of each service provider is known by RSRP (Reference Signal Receives Power), RSRQ (Reference Signal Receives Quality), SNR (Signal Noice Ratio), and QoS (Quality of Service). A method to gather series of radio network frequency information in the field is used for analyze and measurement of data signal strength is drive test using G-Net TrackPro software. Location of the measurement are located across panam main street, such as HR.Soebrantas, Soekarno-Hatta, Tuanku Tambusai, SM.Amin, and Air hitam - Kubang Raya. The result shows that XL-AXIATA have the strongest signal on panam with -56dbm, followed by telkosel with -62 dbm. The best 4G LTE strenght is on SM Amin street and the worst is on Air Hitam street.Key words: LTE, drive test, RSRP, RSRQ, SNR, QoS, G-Net Track Pro

Abstract

Cancer and brain tumors are very serious diseases and problems for human health. Early detection of brain tumors is indispensable considering that every year the victims are increasing. Ultra Wideband microwave imaging is a technique that uses electromagnetic signals with wide bandwidth to see through the internal structure of the brain. This study introduces a circular and rectangular array antenna design in a circle configuration that operates in frequency range from 2 GHz to 13 GHz, the antennas are designed and simulated to detect the presence of tumors. The analysis was carried out by comparing E-Field, H-Field, the number of Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) with tumors. With a circle configuration, each antenna element faces directly into brain phantom for better tumor detection. From the simulation results, E-Field and H-Field are obtained in the brain with tumors. Abstract

Access communication fast, flexible and reliable is needed to support the growing information technology. Therefore, needed a network that can meet those criterias, one of which is WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access). One of features that is given to optimize the quality of the WiMAX network is to use a modulation technique, such as QPSK, 16QAM, and 64QAM. The purpose of this study is to analyze the performance of WiMAX networks that include Bit Error Rate (BER), Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR), delay and throughput. In this research, the WiMAX network is simulated using OPNET simulator which consists of two scenarios. In Scenario 1 consists of 3 cell with 9 users, while the second scenario consists of 4 cell with 12 users. Research shows that the lowest BER value in scenarios 1 and 2 is achieved with QPSK modulation with a value of 8 x 10-6 and 8,05 x 10-6. While the highest SNR value in scenario 1 and 2 is achieved with QPSK modulation with a value of 34.25 dB and 44.06 dB. The calculation of throughput, highest throughput inscenarios 1 and 2 is achieved with 64QAM modulation with a value of 60.79 Mbps and 52.60 Mbps. As for the delay calculation, the value of the lowest delay in scenarios 1 and 2 isachieved with QPSK modulation with a value of 7.16 ms and 4.20 ms.Keywords : modulation techniques , BER, SNR, delay, throughput
