Abstract

The need for human resources in Indonesia that can compete and adapt in times of technological development and global growth can be accommodated with the development of an adequate education system. Potentials such as logic, abstract concepts, and creativity possessed by students in grades 5 and 6 can be developed by using learning methods that encourage students to play an active role in teaching and learning activities. One of them is by using the mind mapping method. In the experience of internship assistance conducted by students in a school, it was found that the behavior of elementary school students would become more dynamic, easier to understand learning materials, and more creative in solving problems after using the mind mapping method in their learning process. Seeing the importance of using mind mapping and the condition that SD X has not implemented the mind mapping method in the implementation of learning, psychoeducation is needed to direct and explain to students and teachers. PKM with psychoeducation conducted at SD X in the form of knowledge sharing to teachers with 5th and 6th grade elementary school students on Friday, March 8, 2024. Knowledge sharing is carried out in the form of lectures and mind mapping practices guided by the chief executive as a resource person in mind mapping psychoeducation activities. After the implementation of psychoeducation about mind mapping has been carried out, a question form paper and pencil is distributed to all students participating in activities on that day. Evaluation results from 88 students showed that 23.9% of participants felt very happy and 26.1% of participants felt very satisfied with the activities. ABSTRAK Kebutuhan sumber daya manusia di Indonesia yang bisa bersaing dan beradaptasi di masa perkembangan teknologi dan pertumbuhan global dapat diakomodasikan dengan adanya perkembangan sistem pendidikan yang memadai. Potensi-potensi seperti konsep logika, abstrak, dan kreativitas yang dimiliki siswa-siswi di kelas 5 dapat dikembangkan dengan menggunakan metode belajar yang lebih mendorong siswa berperan aktif dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Salah satunya adalah dengan menggunakan metode mind mapping. Dalam pengalaman magang asistensi yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa di sebuah sekolah, ditemukan bahwa perilaku siswa sekolah dasar akan menjadi lebih dinamis, lebih mudah memahami materi pembelajaran, dan lebih kreatif dalam menyelesaikan masalah setelah menggunakan metode mind mapping dalam proses belajar-belajar yang mereka lakukan. Melihat pentingnya penggunaan mind mapping dan kondisi SD X belum menerapkan metode mind mapping dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran, maka diperlukan psikoedukasi untuk mengarahkan dan menjelaskan siswa dan guru. PKM dengan psikoedukasi yang dilakukan di SD X berupa knowledge sharing kepada guru dengan siswa-siswi Sekolah Dasar kelas 5 pada hari Jumat, 8 Maret 2024. Knowledge sharing dilakukan berupa ceramah dan praktek pembuatan mind mapping yang dipandu oleh ketua pelaksana sebagai narasumber dalam kegiatan PKM psikoedukasi mind mapping. Setelah pelaksanaan psikoedukasi mengenai mind mapping telah dilakukan, disebarkan pertanyaan evaluasi melalui kuesiober tercetak kepada seluruh siswa-siswi peserta kegiatan di hari tersebut. Hasil evaluasi dari 88 siswa menunjukkan bahwa 23.9% peserta merasa sangat senang dan 26.1% peserta merasa sangat puas dengan kegiatan yang dilakukan

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between phubbing behavior and boredom proneness among adolescents. Phubbing refers to ignoring social interactions due to excessive focus on smartphone use, while boredom proneness indicates a tendency to feel bored easily. The participants in this study were 419 adolescents aged 14-17 years who actively used social media for at least two hours per day. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Generic Scale of Phubbing (GSP) and the Boredom Proneness Scale-Short Form (BPS-SF). Data analysis was conducted using Spearman’s rho non-parametric correlation due to the non-normal distribution of one variable. The results revealed a significant positive correlation between phubbing behavior and boredom proneness (r = 0.444, p < 0.05), meaning that the higher the level of boredom proneness, the more likely adolescents are to engage in phubbing behavior. These findings highlight the importance of preventive measures, such as digital literacy education and boredom management training, to help adolescents use technology in a more balanced and adaptive way. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara perilaku phubbing dan kecenderungan kebosanan pada remaja. Phubbing adalah perilaku mengabaikan interaksi sosial secara langsung karena terlalu fokus pada penggunaan smartphone, sementara kebosanan (boredom proneness) merujuk pada kecenderungan individu untuk merasa bosan dengan cepat. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah 419 remaja berusia 14-17 tahun yang aktif menggunakan media sosial minimal dua jam per hari. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan Generic Scale of Phubbing (GSP) dan Boredom Proneness Scale-Short Form (BPS-SF). Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji korelasi non-parametrik Spearman’s rho, karena salah satu variabel tidak berdistribusi normal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara perilaku phubbing dan kebosanan (r = 0.444, p < 0.05), yang berarti semakin tinggi kecenderungan kebosanan, semakin tinggi pula kecenderungan perilaku phubbing pada remaja. Temuan ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya upaya pencegahan, seperti edukasi literasi digital dan pelatihan manajemen kebosanan, untuk membantu remaja menggunakan teknologi secara lebih seimbang dan adaptif.

Abstract

This study investigated the link between the perception of mental disorders and academic stress in 206 Jakarta junior high school students, aged 11–15. Employing a quantitative correlational method, the research found a significant positive relationship between the two variables (rs = 0.543, p < 0.05). Perceptions related to depression, anxiety, and academic pressures like workload and time constraints were all positively correlated with academic stress. Interestingly, female students demonstrated a higher perception of mental disorders than males, though academic stress levels did not differ significantly by gender. However, no significant difference was found in academic stress levels between males and females. These findings underscore the need for targeted interventions. They provide a valuable foundation for mental health practitioners, educators, and parents to develop strategies that mitigate the negative impact of these perceptions on student well-being, thereby supporting adolescent mental health and overall quality of life.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between work motivation and psychological well-being (PWB) in internship students in Jabodetabek. The Kampus Merdeka policy program provides opportunities for students to develop their skills and work experience. This study aims to identify how work motivation, both intrinsic and extrinsic, affects the psychological well-being of student interns. Using a predictive correlational approach, data were collected through questionnaires measuring the dimensions of work motivation and PWB. The results showed that intrinsic motivation has a significant positive impact on psychological well-being, while excessive extrinsic motivation can have a negative impact. The research emphasizes the importance of creating a supportive work environment to motivate student interns, improve their performance, and prepare them for the transition from academia to the world of work. The researcher obtained 103 respondents from various students in Jabodetabek. universities with 25.2% male and 74.8% female gender. This research data was processed using convenience sampling techniques, using the Multidimensional Work Motivation Scale (MWMS) questionnaire and Psychological Well Being (PWB) distribution of this questionnaire through social media by using google form. The analysis of the data is known through the Kolmogorov Smirnov test obtained a figure of 0.200> 0.05 for both variables, it is concluded that the residual data is normally distributed.

Abstract

Masa transisi dari dunia akademik menuju dunia kerja seringkali menimbulkan kecemasan terhadap masa depan atau future anxiety pada fresh graduate. Di sisi lain satu faktor yang dipercaya berperan dalam menurunkan tingkat kecemasan adalah self-efficacy, yaitu keyakinan individu terhadap kemampuan dirinya dalam menghadapi tantangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya hubungan antara self-efficacy dan future anxiety pada fresh graduate di wilayah Jabodetabek. Pengambilan data dilakukan selama 1 bulan melalui penyebaran kuesioner daring dengan teknik purposive sampling pada partisipan berusia 20–25 tahun yang telah lulus maksimal satu tahun, mendapatkan 136 partisipan yang sesuai dengan kriteria penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan negatif antara self-efficacy dan future anxiety, temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa sebagian besar partisipan dalam penelitian menunjukkan tingkat self-efficacy yang rendah serta future anxiety yang tinggi. Individu dengan self-efficacy rendah cenderung mengalami future anxiety yang lebih tinggi karena kurangnya keyakinan terhadap kemampuan diri dalam menghadapi tuntutan dan ketidakpastian setelah lulus. Temuan ini dapat digunakan untuk membantu fresh graduate mengelola kecemasan terhadap masa depan melalui peningkatan fresh graduate.

Abstract

The phenomenon of using a second Instagram account among young adults offers a more private and authentic space for expression than a primary account, which often triggers self-disclosure behavior. This study focuses on analyzing the influence of interpersonal trust on the intensity of self-disclosure among users of these second accounts. Through a quantitative approach with a simple linear regression method, data was collected online from 415 young adult participants using the Interpersonal Trust Scale and the Revised Self-Disclosure Scale (RSDS). The research findings indicate that interpersonal trust has a significant positive influence on self-disclosure, with a contribution of 4% (R2 = 0.040). This indicates that the higher an individual's level of trust in others, the greater their motivation to disclose themselves on the second account. It is concluded that although interpersonal trust is not the sole main determinant because the majority of the variance is influenced by other external factors, this variable still plays a crucial role in facilitating individuals' courage to share personal and emotional information in a more controlled digital environment. ABSTRAK Fenomena penggunaan second account Instagram di kalangan dewasa awal menawarkan ruang ekspresi yang lebih privat dan otentik dibandingkan akun utama, yang sering kali memicu perilaku pengungkapan diri (self-disclosure). Penelitian ini berfokus untuk menganalisis pengaruh interpersonal trust terhadap intensitas self-disclosure pada pengguna akun kedua tersebut. Melalui pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode regresi linear sederhana, data dikumpulkan secara daring dari 415 partisipan dewasa awal menggunakan Skala Interpersonal Trust dan Revised Self-Disclosure Scale (RSDS). Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interpersonal trust memiliki pengaruh positif yang signifikan terhadap self-disclosure, dengan kontribusi pengaruh sebesar 4% (R2 = 0,040$). Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa semakin tinggi tingkat kepercayaan individu terhadap orang lain, semakin besar pula dorongan mereka untuk membuka diri di akun kedua. Disimpulkan bahwa meskipun interpersonal trust bukan satu-satunya determinan utama karena mayoritas variansi dipengaruhi faktor eksternal lain, variabel ini tetap memegang peran krusial dalam memfasilitasi keberanian individu untuk berbagi informasi pribadi dan emosional di lingkungan digital yang lebih terkontrol.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the relationship between altruism and psychological well-being (PWB) among early adult volunteers. Altruism refers to the tendency to help others voluntarily, while PWB includes six core dimensions: self-acceptance, positive relations, autonomy, environmental mastery, purpose in life, and personal growth. A total of 138 volunteers aged 20–40 years from Community X were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Self-Report Altruism Scale and the Indonesian-adapted version of the Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale. Spearman's rho correlation was used due to non-normal data distribution. The results showed that most participants had moderate to high levels of altruism and PWB. However, altruism was not significantly associated with overall PWB (r = 0.041; p = 0.635), except for the autonomy dimension, which showed a significant positive correlation (r = 0.192; p = 0.024). These findings suggest that altruistic behavior does not necessarily enhance general psychological well-being but does contribute to a sense of independence in decision-making. This study expands the understanding of the dynamics between volunteering and well-being within a collectivist cultural context. Future research is recommended to explore potential mediators such as empathy and prosocial motivation, as well as to broaden the scope and sectors of volunteer activities. Hasil menunjukkan sebagian besar partisipan memiliki tingkat altruisme dan PWB sedang hingga tinggi. Namun, altruisme tidak berhubungan signifikan dengan PWB secara keseluruhan (r = 0,041; p = 0,635), kecuali pada dimensi autonomy yang menunjukkan hubungan positif signifikan (r = 0,192; p = 0,024). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa perilaku altruistik tidak serta merta meningkatkan kesejahteraan psikologis secara umum, tetapi berkontribusi pada aspek kemandirian dalam pengambilan keputusan. Studi ini memperluas pemahaman mengenai dinamika volunteering dan kesejahteraan dalam konteks budaya kolektivis. Penelitian lanjutan disarankan untuk mengeksplorasi peran mediator seperti empati, motivasi prososial, serta memperluas konteks dan sektor kegiatan kerelawanan.

Abstract

Loneliness is a subjective emotional experience commonly encountered during early adulthood, particularly amid the increasing use of social media as a means of social interaction. This study aims to describe the level of loneliness among early adult social media users. A quantitative approach with a descriptive cross-sectional design was employed. The participants consisted of 391 early adults aged 18–23 years who actively used social media for more than three hours per day, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected online using the UCLA Loneliness Scale version 3, which has demonstrated good validity and reliability, and were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the majority of participants experienced moderate loneliness (76.0%), followed by high loneliness (13.9%) and low loneliness (12.1%). Furthermore, no significant differences in loneliness levels were found based on gender, age, participant status, duration of social media use, or the type of social media platform used. These findings indicate that loneliness in early adulthood is a subjective psychological experience that is relatively evenly distributed among social media users, highlighting the importance of fulfilling emotional needs and the quality of social relationships during this developmental stage. ABSTRAK Kesepian merupakan pengalaman emosional subjektif yang umum dialami individu pada fase dewasa awal, khususnya di tengah meningkatnya penggunaan media sosial sebagai sarana interaksi sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan tingkat kesepian pada individu dewasa awal pengguna media sosial. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain deskriptif cross-sectional. Partisipan berjumlah 391 individu dewasa awal berusia 18–23 tahun yang aktif menggunakan media sosial lebih dari tiga jam per hari, dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara daring dengan menggunakan UCLA Loneliness Scale versi 3 yang telah teruji validitas dan reliabilitasnya, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas partisipan berada pada kategori kesepian sedang (76,0%), diikuti kategori kesepian tinggi (13,9%) dan kesepian rendah (12,1%). Selain itu, tidak ditemukan perbedaan tingkat kesepian yang signifikan berdasarkan jenis kelamin, usia, status partisipan, durasi penggunaan, maupun platform media sosial yang digunakan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa kesepian pada dewasa awal merupakan pengalaman psikologis yang bersifat subjektif dan relatif merata di kalangan pengguna media sosial, sehingga pemenuhan kualitas hubungan sosial tetap menjadi aspek penting dalam fase perkembangan ini.

Abstract

This quantitative study employed a non-experimental correlational design to examine the relationship between resilience and friendship quality among emerging adults from divorced families. Data were collected through online questionnaires distributed to participants who met specific demographic criteria. As the data were not normally distributed, the Spearman correlation test was used for analysis. The results revealed a significant positive relationship between resilience and friendship quality (p = 0.002; r = 0.281). Higher levels of resilience were associated with better friendship quality, although the strength of the correlation was relatively low. These findings underscore the importance of resilience as a protective factor that enables individuals from divorced families to build and maintain healthy social relationships during early adulthood. This study contributes empirical evidence to the psychological understanding of resilience's positive role in navigating the challenges of developmental transition ABSTRAK Penelitian kuantitatif ini menggunakan pendekatan korelasional non-eksperimental untuk menguji hubungan antara resiliensi dan kualitas pertemanan pada individu emerging adulthood yang berasal dari keluarga bercerai. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner daring kepada partisipan yang memenuhi kriteria demografis tertentu. Karena data tidak berdistribusi normal, analisis dilakukan menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman. Hasil menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara resiliensi dan kualitas pertemanan (p = 0.002; r = 0.281). Semakin tinggi tingkat resiliensi individu, semakin baik kualitas pertemanannya, meskipun kekuatan hubungan berada dalam kategori rendah. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya resiliensi sebagai faktor protektif yang memungkinkan individu dengan latar belakang keluarga bercerai membangun dan mempertahankan hubungan sosial yang sehat di masa dewasa awal. Studi ini memberikan kontribusi empiris terhadap pemahaman psikologis mengenai dampak positif resiliensi dalam konteks transisi perkembangan yang penuh tantangan.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the relationship between leisure activity (LA) and life satisfaction (LS) to understand the factors that contribute to the well-being of Generation Z. The research subjects consisted of 159 Generation Z individuals who enjoy staycations and were analyzed using the Leisure Satisfaction Scale and the Satisfaction with Life Scale through a correlational quantitative approach. The data analysis technique used was Spearman’s rho correlation because the data were not normally distributed. The results indicate a positive and significant relationship between the two variables, with a correlation coefficient of (). These findings suggest that the higher the quality and frequency of leisure activities, the higher the level of life satisfaction experienced by the participants. Therefore, leisure activity and staycations are proven to be important elements in maintaining the subjective well-being of Generation Z. This study is expected to raise public awareness of the importance of leisure time to enhance life satisfaction.
