Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between academic self-efficacy and academic dishonesty among students at University X in the context of AI development. The research was conducted due to the limited studies addressing academic self-efficacy and academic dishonesty in relation to the AI phenomenon. A quantitative method was employed using purposive sampling, involving 313 university students as participants. Data were collected using the Academic Self-Efficacy Scale and the Academic Dishonesty Scale, both measured with a Likert scale. Correlation analysis was performed using Spearman's correlation, revealing a significant negative relationship between academic self-efficacy and academic dishonesty (r = -0.149, p = 0.008 < 0.05). This indicates that higher levels of academic self-efficacy are associated with lower levels of academic dishonesty among students. These findings can be utilized by educational institutions to develop programs that enhance academic self-efficacy through training, academic support, and fostering an environment that promotes educational integrity. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara efikasi diri akademik dengan perilaku academic dishonesty pada mahasiswa Universitas X dalam perkembangan AI. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena penelitian yang membahas tentang efikasi diri akademik dan academic dishonesty dengan fenomena perkembangan AI masih sedikit. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan menggunakan purposive sampling. Total partisipan pada penelitian ini berjumlah 313 mahasiswa menggunakan alat ukur academic self-efficacy scale dan academic dishonesty scale dengan menggunakan skala Likert. Analisis korelasi pada penelitian ini menggunakan korelasi Spearman yang menunjukkan adanya hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara efikasi diri akademik dengan academic dishonesty pada mahasiswa Universitas X dalam perkembangan AI (r = -0.149, p 0.008<0.05). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi efikasi diri akademik, semakin rendah perilaku academic dishonesty yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa. Temuan ini dapat digunakan oleh institusi pendidikan untuk mengembangkan program yang meningkatan efikasi diri akademik melalui pelatihan, dukungan akademik, dan pembentukan lingkungan yang mendukung integritas pendidikan.

Abstract

Tiktok addiction is becoming an increasingly common phenomenon among emerging adulthood, characterized by excessive use and negative impacts on mental health, productivity, and social relationships. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-control and Tiktok addiction in individuals aged 18-25 years who are classified as emerging adulthood. The method used is quantitative research with purposive sampling technique. Data were obtained from 200 participants domiciled in Jabodetabek through filling out an online questionnaire using the Brief Self-Control Scale (BSCS) and an adaptation of the Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale (BSMAS) to measure Tiktok addiction. The results of the analysis showed a significant negative relationship between self-control and Tiktok addiction (r = ?0.806; p < 0.05), meaning that higher levels of self-control are associated with a lower tendency for Tiktok addiction. The inhibition and initiation dimensions in self-control each contribute significantly to the decrease in Tiktok addiction with correlation values ??of r = ?0.793 and r = ?0.761. This study confirms the importance of self-control in reducing the risk of social media addiction, especially Tiktok, in emerging adulthood. ABSTRAKAdiksi Tiktok menjadi fenomena yang semakin umum di kalangan emerging adulthood, ditandai dengan penggunaan yang berlebihan dan dampak negatif terhadap kesehatan mental, produktivitas, serta hubungan sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara self-control dengan adiksi Tiktok pada individu berusia 18-25 tahun yang tergolong sebagai emerging adulthood. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data diperoleh dari 200 partisipan yang berdomisili di Jabodetabek melalui pengisian kuesioner daring menggunakan alat ukur Brief Self-Control Scale (BSCS) dan adaptasi Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale (BSMAS) untuk mengukur adiksi Tiktok. Hasil analisis menunjukkan terdapat hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara self-control dan adiksi Tiktok (r = ?0,806; p < 0,05), artinya tingkat self-control yang lebih tinggi berhubungan dengan kecenderungan adiksi Tiktok yang lebih rendah. Dimensi inhibisi dan inisiasi dalam self-control masing-masing berkontribusi secara signifikan terhadap penurunan adiksi Tiktok dengan nilai korelasi r = ?0,793 dan r = ?0,761. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya self-control dalam mengurangi risiko adiksi media sosial, khususnya Tiktok, pada emerging adulthood.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between father involvement and emotional well-being in late adolescents. Emotional well-being is a psychological condition that plays an important role for individuals, especially in late adolescents. Individuals with positive emotional well-being will be more capable of experiencing life satisfaction, conversely, if emotional well-being is low, their lives will be dominated by feelings of dissatisfaction. The participants in this study are late adolescents aged 18-24 years. The sampling technique used in this research the non-probability purposive sampling technique, with a total of 305 participants in this study. The measurement tool used for the father involvement variable is the Perception of Father’s Involvement (PFI), while the measurement tool for the Emotional well-being variable is the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule. (PANAS-SF). The correlation analysis in this study used Spearman's non-parametric correlation, and the results showed a significant positive relationship between father involvement and emotional well-being among late adolescents. (r = 0.429, p 0.000<0.05). This indicates that the higher the father involvement, the higher the emotional well-being. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara keterlibatan ayah dengan kesejahteraan emosional pada remaja akhir. Emotional well-being merupakan kondisi psikologis yang berperan penting bagi individu khususnya pada remaja akhir. Individu dengan Emotional well-being yang positif akan lebih mampu merasakan kepuasan hidupnya, begitupun sebaliknya jika Emotional well-being rendah maka hidupnya akan didominasi oleh rasa ketidakpuasan. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah remaja akhir berusia 18-24 tahun. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan yakni teknik non-probability purposive sampling, total partisipan pada penelitian ini berjumlah 305. Alat ukur yang digunakan untuk variabel Father Involvement adalah Perception of Father’s Involvement (PFI), sedangkan pada variabel Emotional well-being adalah Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS-SF). Analisis korelasi pada penelitian ini menggunakan korelasi non-parametic Spearman hasil menunjukkan bahwa adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara keterlibatan ayah dengan kesejahteraan emosional pada remaja akhir. (r = 0.429, p 0.000<0.05) Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi keterlibatan ayah maka Emotional well-being juga akan tinggi.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the college student adjustment in the context of hybrid learning in higher education. Hybrid learning combines face-to-face and online learning, adaptation challenges for students, particularly after the COVID-19 pandemic. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method with purposive sampling, involving 125 students from various cohorts at a university in West Jakarta. Data analysis was conducted using MAXQDA 2020 software to explore four aspects of adjustment: academic adjustment, social adjustment, personal-emotional adjustment, and goal commitment-institutional attachment. The findings reveal that hybrid learning positively impacts students' learning motivation and social interactions but also presents challenges such as boredom, stress, and time management difficulties. This research provides valuable insights into factors influencing student adjustment in a hybrid learning system. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan gambaran college student adjustment (penyesuaian diri mahasiswa) dalam proses pembelajaran hybrid learning di perguruan tinggi. Hybrid learning menggabungkan pembelajaran tatap muka dan daring, memberikan tantangan adaptasi bagi mahasiswa, terutama setelah pandemi coronavirus disease (covid-19). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan purposive sampling, melibatkan 125 mahasiswa dari berbagai angkatan di salah satu Universitas di Jakarta Barat. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan software MAXQDA 2020 dan mengidentifikasi empat aspek penyesuaian diri sebagai temuan penelitian yaitu: penyesuaian akademik, penyesuaian sosial, penyesuaian personal emosional, dan kelekatan terhadap universitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hybrid learning memiliki dampak positif terhadap motivasi belajar dan interaksi sosial mahasiswa, namun juga memunculkan tantangan berupa kebosanan, stres, dan kesulitan dalam mengatur waktu dalam penerapan sistem hybrid learning.

Abstract

The use of abusive language and hate speech among elementary school students is influenced by the widespread presence of social media. Social media, as a source of information and entertainment, has become an inseparable part of children’s lives, but also brings negative impacts, including the imitation of abusive language and hate speech. This research aims to describe the use of abusive language and hate speech by elementary school students who are influenced by the rise of social media. Social media as a source of information and entertainment has become an inseparable part of children's lives, but it also has negative impacts, including imitation of harsh language and hate speech. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and content analysis of student interactions, both directly in the school environment and on social media platforms. The research results show that elementary school students tend to imitate abusive language and hate speech they encounter on social media without fully understanding its meaning and impact. The main factors that influence this behavior include the duration of social media use, lack of supervision from parents, and minimal understanding of digital communication ethics. The impact of using this language can be seen in disrupting social relationships between students, increasing verbal conflicts, and decreasing politeness values ??in daily interactions. This research recommends increasing supervision of elementary school children in their use of social media. The role of parents and educators is the most important thing in providing their students with an understanding of how to wisely use social media to prevent behavior that imitates negative language from social media. Apart from that, strengthening regulations regarding social media access for children needs to be done. Media sosial sebagai salah satu sumber informasi dan hiburan telah menjadi bagian tak terpisahkan dari kehidupan anak-anak, tetapi juga membawa dampak negatif, termasuk peniruan bahasa kasar dan ujaran kebencian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan gambaran penggunaan abusive language dan hate speech oleh siswa sekolah dasar yang dipengaruhi oleh maraknya media sosial. Media sosial sebagai salah satu sumber informasi dan hiburan telah menjadi bagian tak terpisahkan dari kehidupan anak-anak, tetapi juga membawa dampak negatif, termasuk peniruan bahasa kasar dan ujaran kebencian. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan analisis konten dari interaksi siswa, baik secara langsung di lingkungan sekolah maupun di platform media sosial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa sekolah dasar cenderung menirukan abusive language dan hate speech yang mereka temui di media sosial tanpa memahami sepenuhnya makna dan dampaknya. Faktor utama yang memengaruhi perilaku ini meliputi durasi penggunaan media sosial, kurangnya pengawasan dari orang tua, dan minimnya pemahaman tentang etika komunikasi digital. Dampak penggunaan bahasa tersebut terlihat pada terganggunya hubungan sosial antar siswa, meningkatnya konflik verbal, serta penurunan nilai-nilai kesopanan dalam interaksi sehari-hari. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan peningkatan pengawasan terhadap anak-anak sekolah dasar dalam penggunaan media sosial. Peran orang tua dan para pendidik menjadi hal yang paling penting dalam memberikan pemahaman terhadap anak didiknya tentang cara bijak menggunakan media sosial guna mencegah perilaku meniru bahasa negatif dari media sosial. Selain itu penguatan regulasi terkait akses media sosial untuk anak-anak perlu dilakukan.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of father involvement on emotion regulation abilities in Generation Z individuals who live in Jakarta. Generation Z, which is developing in the digital era with complex social and emotional challenges, requires an active role of the family, especially the father figure in the formation of adaptive emotion regulation strategies. This study used a non-experimental quantitative approach with correlational methods. The sample consisted of 140 individuals aged 17 to 25 years, selected using a combination of criterion sampling, convenience sampling, and snowball sampling techniques. The instruments used included the Father Involvement Scale (FIS) and the Indonesian version of the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ), which have been tested for validity and reliability. Simple regression analysis showed that father involvement has a significant effect on emotion regulation in Generation Z, with a contribution of 63.9%. This result confirms that the higher the father's involvement, the better the child's emotion regulation ability. This finding reinforces previous literature on the importance of fathers' role in parenting and children's psychological development in the modern era. This study recommends the need for educational programmes and interventions that involve fathers in parenting, as well as policies that support the balance of fathers' roles in the family to improve the psychological well-being of young people. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh keterlibatan ayah terhadap kemampuan regulasi emosi pada individu Generasi Z yang berdomisili di Jakarta. Generasi Z, yang berkembang dalam era digital dengan tantangan sosial dan emosional yang kompleks, memerlukan peran aktif keluarga terutama figur ayah dalam pembentukan strategi regulasi emosi yang adaptif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif non-eksperimental dengan metode korelasional. Sampel terdiri dari 140 individu berusia 17 hingga 25 tahun, dipilih menggunakan kombinasi teknik criterion sampling, convenience sampling, dan snowball sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan mencakup Father Involvement Scale (FIS) dan Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) versi Bahasa Indonesia yang telah teruji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Analisis regresi sederhana menunjukkan bahwasanya keterlibatan ayah berpengaruh signifikan terhadap regulasi emosi pada Generasi Z, dengan kontribusi sebesar 63,9%. Hasil ini menegaskan bahwa semakin tinggi keterlibatan ayah, semakin baik kemampuan regulasi emosi anak. Temuan ini memperkuat literatur sebelumnya mengenai pentingnya peran ayah dalam pengasuhan dan perkembangan psikologis anak di era modern. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya program edukasi dan intervensi yang melibatkan ayah dalam pengasuhan, serta kebijakan yang mendukung keseimbangan peran ayah dalam keluarga untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan psikologis generasi muda.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between work motivation and psychological well-being (PWB) in internship students in Jabodetabek. The Kampus Merdeka policy program provides opportunities for students to develop their skills and work experience. This study aims to identify how work motivation, both intrinsic and extrinsic, affects the psychological well-being of student interns. Using a predictive correlational approach, data were collected through questionnaires measuring the dimensions of work motivation and PWB. The results showed that intrinsic motivation has a significant positive impact on psychological well-being, while excessive extrinsic motivation can have a negative impact. The research emphasizes the importance of creating a supportive work environment to motivate student interns, improve their performance, and prepare them for the transition from academia to the world of work. The researcher obtained 103 respondents from various students in Jabodetabek. universities with 25.2% male and 74.8% female gender. This research data was processed using convenience sampling techniques, using the Multidimensional Work Motivation Scale (MWMS) questionnaire and Psychological Well Being (PWB) distribution of this questionnaire through social media by using google form. The analysis of the data is known through the Kolmogorov Smirnov test obtained a figure of 0.200> 0.05 for both variables, it is concluded that the residual data is normally distributed.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digitalization and the emergence of Industry 5.0 have introduced new challenges in the workforce, including rising unemployment rates among university graduates and a widening skills gap. One crucial competency to navigate this dynamic work environment is self-regulation, which is believed to enhance employee work engagement. The present study endeavors to investigate the correlation between self-regulation and work engagement among employees at Company X. A quantitative correlational approach was employed, involving 168 participants selected through purposive sampling. The instruments used were the Short Self-Regulation Questionnaire (SSRQ) and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES-9). Spearman correlation analysis revealed a significant positive relationship between self-regulation and work engagement (ρ = 0.406; p < 0.001), with the correlation categorized as moderate. These findings indicate that employees with higher self-regulation abilities tend to exhibit higher levels of work engagement. The results support the importance of developing self-regulation as a strategic means to enhance employee involvement and performance in the modern workplace.Perkembangan era digital dan transformasi industri 5.0 menciptakan tantangan baru dalam dunia kerja, termasuk meningkatnya tingkat pengangguran lulusan perguruan tinggi dan kesenjangan keterampilan di kalangan tenaga kerja. Salah satu kompetensi penting untuk menghadapi tantangan ini adalah kemampuan regulasi diri, yang diyakini dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan kerja karyawan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara regulasi diri dan keterlibatan kerja pada karyawan di Perusahaan X. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional dengan 168 partisipan yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Short Self-Regulation Questionnaire (SSRQ) dan Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES-9). Hasil analisis korelasi Spearman menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara regulasi diri dan keterlibatan kerja (ρ = 0,406; p < 0,001), dengan kekuatan hubungan berada pada kategori sedang. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa semakin tinggi kemampuan regulasi diri yang dimiliki karyawan, semakin tinggi pula tingkat keterlibatan mereka dalam pekerjaan. Hasil ini mendukung pentingnya pengembangan regulasi diri sebagai strategi untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan dan kinerja karyawan di era kerja modern.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between parental support and motivation to learn piano in fifth-grade elementary school students at Alunan Melodi Indonesia (AMI). The background of this study is based on the phenomenon of declining motivation in children in participating in music lessons, particularly piano lessons, and the important role of support from their immediate environment, especially parents, in supporting children's learning process. The method used in this study was a quantitative correlational survey approach. Participants consisted of 110 fifth-grade elementary school students who had been taking piano lessons for six months. The instruments used were the Motivation for Learning Music Questionnaire (MLMQ) and the Parental Support Scale adapted from Sarafino (2002). The results of the data analysis showed no relationship between parental support and children's motivation to learn piano, particularly in piano lessons at AMI. This study suggests that developing children's motivation to learn music requires a more comprehensive approach, involving various factors in addition to parental support.

Abstract

Peningkatan jumlah mahasiswa yang mengikuti program MBKM mencerminkan minat besar terhadap pengembangan diri dan pengalaman baru. Menurut Singh dan Jha (2008), grit merupakan salah satu prediktor signifikan dalam life satisfaction. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi pengaruh grit terhadap life satisfaction, dengan self-esteem sebagai mediator, pada 312 mahasiswa berusia 19–25 tahun yang telah mengikuti program MBKM. Data dikumpulkan pada September–Oktober 2024 menggunakan Short Grit Scale (Duckworth & Quinn, 2009), Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (Rosenberg, 1965), dan Satisfaction With Life Scale (Diener et al., 1985). Analisis data menunjukkan grit memiliki pengaruh terhadap life satisfaction (R = 0,652; R² = 0,425) dan self-esteem (R = 0,822; R² = 0,676). Selain itu, self-esteem berperan sebagai mediator penuh dalam hubungan grit dan life satisfaction, dengan hasil Sobel test sebesar 9,80 (> 1,96), memperkuat pentingnya self-esteem dalam meningkatkan life satisfaction.
