Abstract

The writing discusses story of Noah (peace be upon him) in the Quran. The story will be approached by philosophical hermeneutics is conceived by Heiddegger and Gadamar. The main questions of the article are why and how the meaning of the story for Arabic people especially and for Moslem (human kind) generally. Finally, the result shows that Prophet Nuh is one of important ancestors for Arabic people and those people had listened and seen some historical events related to this prophet and his people. Moreover, the story teachs human being to surrender to Allah as it will lead them to appreciate all creations in this universe.

Abstract

Khitan is called circumcision in English. It is the surgical removal of the foreskin from the penis. In Banjarese society, circumcisions celebration is called basunat. Basunat as rite of passage is one of important stages for Banjareses life. Socially, the tradition maintains the collectiveness and integration of Banjarese society. According to anthropology view, basunat may be understood as a liminal condition. Liminal is a condition of betwixt and between. In this condition, subject of rite experiences a formed stage. Furthermore, according to philosophy view, the tradition reflects the exsistence of human being and its relation with other existences.

Abstract

Tulisan ini mcnguraikan lilsafat moral atau etika menurut David Hume. Hume terkenal sebagai seorang empirisisme. Paham inilah yang membentuk epistemologinya, sehingga lahirlah anggapan bahwa ilmu tersebut hersilat relatif, subyektif bukan obyektif. Hume juga menolak ide kausalitas dan substansi, scbab keduanya tidak bisa dibuktikan secara cmpirik, scpcrti tidak terlihatnya daya kausal dan substansi itu sendiri. Iipisternologi ini rncndasari pemahaman etika Hume bahwa etika adatah masalah pcrasaan. Pcrasaart ini muncul dari kesan yang dihasilkan oleh fakta empirik, sehingga Humc beranggapan bahwa hukum moral adalah tidak ada. Dengan kata lain, etika adalah masalah pcrasaan setuju dan tidak setu.lu atau scnang dan tidak scnang. Jika setuju dan senang maka itu baik dan begitu juga scbaliknya. Nantun untuk meqiaga agar tidak ada kesewenang-wenangan etis maka Hume beranggapan bahwa manusia memiliki sikap saling simpati yang dibangun diatas empat keutamaan. Agar ini semua bisa berjalan dengan lancar lalu diciptakanlah norma-norma tertentu dan dalam penerapan norlna ini dilaksanakanlah pembiasan-pembiasaan. I,embiasaan yang mcniadi kebiasaal inilah yang menjadi seakan-akan tcrasa sepcrti hukum moral.

Abstract

This article will analyse Tuhfah ar-Rghibn which was written by Muhammad Arsyad al-Banjari who well-known as one of the central religious figures of the Banjarese society. The first section will describe the contents of Tuhfah ar-Rghibn generally. The second one will analyse the historisity of Tuhfah ar-Rghibn and its methodology. Then, it will be followed by a reflection about the relevance of the methodology of Tuhfah ar-Rghibn for today. Finally, it concludes that Tuhfah ar-Rghibn has theocentrical approach and bayn epistemology. This approach has to re-study to adjust the needs of Banjarese society today.

Abstract

This article discusses the problem of the commodification of religion in Islam, namely looking at the perspective of Islamic law on a process that directs the symbols and religious expressions of Muslims in the framework of market-based power as a commodity or business object. The theory used is the Maqashid ash-Shariah theory, to find out whether or not the objectives of sharia law are maintained in the religious practices which intersect with the economic dimension. This becomes relevant because for a Muslim the conformity with the objectives of sharia is the materialization of maslahah which is the wisdom of establishing a law in Islam. It employs a normative approach in the perspective of Maqashid jurisprudence. The results of this study indicate that in the Islamic context, there are several things that reveal the symptoms of religious commodification which are packaged in various forms of industry. Some types of industry still exist which are built with economic rationality to seek mere worldly benefits and ignore the principles of benefit. For this type of business practice, the government with its various instruments or institutions must continue to carry out sharia-compliant supervision. Meanwhile for the sharia-based business practices or industries, there is no legal issue in complying with sharia objectives there.KeywordsCommodification of religion, Maqasid al-Sharia, Islamic law, religion with economic dimensions AbstrakTulisan ini membahas masalah komodifikasi agama dalam Islam, yaitu melihat perspektif hukum Islam terhadap suatu proses yang mengarahkan simbol-simbol dan ekspresi keberagamaan Umat Muslim dalam kerangka market-based power sebagai komoditas atau objek bisnis. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori Maqashid  asy-Syariáh, untuk mengetahui tetap terjaga atau tidak-nya maksud atau tujuan penetapan hukum syariah dalam praktek-praktek agama dalam dimensi ekonomi tersebut. Hal ini menjadi relevan karena bagi seorang muslim kesesuaian dengan tujuan syariah yaitu tercapainya maslahah yang merupakan hikmah ditetapkannya suatu hukum dalam Islam merupakan hal yang sangat prinsip. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan normatif dalam perspektif fiqih Maqashid. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam konteks Islam, terdapat beberapa hal yang menampakkan adanya gejala komodivikasi agama yang dikemas dalam berbagai bentuk Industri. Beberapa jenis industri masih ada yang dibangun dengan rasionalitas Ekonomi untuk mencari keuntungan duniawi semata dan mengabaikan prinsip-prinsip kemaslahatan. Untuk praktek tersebut, pemerintah dengan berbagai instrumen atau lembaga yang dimilikinya harus terus melakukan pengawasan. Sedangkan untuk berbagai industri dan praktek bisnis yang berbasis syariah dan mengedepankan maslahah− yang maknanya lebih luas dari sekadar utility atau kepuasan dalam terminologi ekonomi konvensional−maka tidak ada persoalan hukum secara syariah.Kata kunciKomodifikasi agama, Maqasid al-Syariah, Hukum Islam, Agama dalam dimensi ekonomi

Abstract

Perennial philosophy has a real implication towards philosophical frame of Islamic education. This implication influences the Islamic education to strengthen the transcendental values that are immanent to the creature of human as khalifatullah fil ardhi. It implies that the implication of perennial philosophy towards philosophical frame of Islamic education must be able to provide wisdom among humans to understand their existence as a creature that relates closely to The Sacred and The One.
