Abstract

Data and facts from the media show that the problem of children who conflict with the law is still a daily consumption. This phenomenon of child problems requires serious attention and handling from various parties. The impact of the behavior of children in conflict with the law is not only on the victim but also on the perpetrator himself, the family, and society in general. This article is directed to answer the question of how the risk, protector, and implications for child prevention efforts conflict with the law. This study is based on the study of literature from the perspective of social construction which views that conflict with the law as the reality of the interaction of the individual child and his environment. Social construction recognizes that psychological and sociological aspects work together in combination and this helps create and shape individual realities. The everyday reality experienced by the individual is a reality that affects the response of his/her attitudes and behavior. Individual behavior is a picture of the behavior of people who interact with them. Children generally grow up in four contexts where they interact with others for a long time, namely family, school, peers, and community environments. The four environmental contexts are not only risk factors but become protective factors for the occurrence of child behavior in conflict with the law. References to this paper are sourced from books, journals, and other reliable sources and have an element of novelty both from within Indonesia and from abroad. This paper is intended to be a concern and awareness for various parties so that finally the prevention efforts carried out have the maximum impact and cases of children who conflict with the law are not repeated.

Abstract

Violence against wives is the most common form of violence against women reported in Indonesia. Understanding the definition of violence against wives is one of first steps to address the problem given that recognition about what constitutes violent behaviors has an influence on how society responds to victims and perpetrators. The study described and examined factors associated with the attitudes of Muslim undergraduate social welfare students toward definitions of violence against wives using socio-demographic and socio-cultural perspectives. Samples were selected non-randomly using convenience sampling techniques. Data were collected through a self-administered survey taken by 275 students in the social welfare department of two separate universities located in the provinces of Yogyakarta and East Java late 2016. Data was analyzed using hierarchical regressions techniques. The study found that students generally reported stronger agreement to viewing physical violence as a form of violence against wives. On the contrary, they were less likely to view non-physical violence as violent behavior. Gender, attitudes toward gender roles, and type of university were found to be associated with attitudes toward the definition of violence against wives. Implications from the findings were discussed, taking into account the roles of educational institutions in shaping the students’ attitudes.

Abstract

This article reports women’s empowerment activities in a fishery product processing program in Ternate City. Groups are assessed, not in terms of their success in producing fishery products and the impact on increasing the income of coastal families, from an economic perspective, but in terms of women’s contribution and participation to women’s empowerment in the program. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques carried out through in-depth interviews, observations and literature studies. Evidence emerged that women were only involved in the program implementation process. They are not involved in the process of determining women’s basic needs in fishery business diversification, planning, monitoring and program evaluation stages. When considered in the construction of empowerment and democratization processes. Coastal women have not been involved as subjects in a fishery product processing program that aims to free them from poverty through various business trainings. As well as the cultural influence of coastal communities who still live in the customs of the Sultanate of Ternate. So that the results of the program based on the perspective of women’s empowerment do not contribute to the critical awareness of coastal women so that an inclusive and equitable model of coastal women’s intervention is needed and pays attention to social and cultural structures.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract. The implementation of SLRT must seek the application of legal, responsive, transparent, participatory, gender equality, accountable, objective, and sustainable principles. Bandung Regency is an area that has held SLRT since 2016 until now and has received Best Practice achievements from the Ministry of Social Affairs. In fact, the characteristics of the region can be a challenge for the implementation of the SLRT implementation principle. Namely, the male population is greater than the female population, the area is large and consists of lowlands and highlands, and the 69 OPDs have their own programs and target recipients. The researcher wants to know how the Bandung Regency SLRT applies the principles of its implementation by using a human rights-based approach theory. This is because there is harmony between the principles of implementing SLRT and human rights principles in the form of participation, accountability, non-discrimination and equity. Information regarding the implementation of SLRT Bandung Regency is presented using qualitative data, sourced from interviews, non-participant observation, and literature studies. The findings of the study state that the implementation of SLRT in Bandung Regency shows active community participation and differences in treatment in the delivery of services that support substantive gender equality. On the other hand, not all OPDs in Bandung Regency have succeeded in integrating their programs and program beneficiary targets with SLRT. Thus, service delivery is not fully sustainable. However, this is not a form of government reluctance, but rather due to limited resources. Keywords: Implementation of SLRT; Human Rights-Based Approach; Human Rights Principle.

Abstract

Social conflict in Indonesia is a complex problem and has a significant impact on society mentally and economically after the conflict. The conflict covers various aspects, such as inter-ethnic conflicts and religious conflicts, which indicate the existence of tensions between groups in society. In the context of handling social conflict, a social harmony program is needed that can provide comprehensive social benefits. However, there is a gap between research results that highlight the complexity of social conflict from various perspectives and the need for holistic and integrated social policies in handling social conflict in Indonesia. Therefore, further research is needed to measure the social benefits generated by social harmony programs as well as in-depth evaluations related to the efficiency of resource use and program effectiveness in achieving social harmony objectives. In addition, the cost aspect is also an important consideration in handling social conflict, such as the cost of treating depression and psychosocial disorders. Thus, further research in this regard will make a significant contribution to the development of policies for handling social conflict in Indonesia.
