Abstract

This training activity is part of the service program of the lecturers of the Indonesian Education Institute. Salawu Village is a destination for IPI Garut mathematics education teachers according to the needs in the field of education in the knowledge of new learning innovations. We offer Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) as learning that can be applied in schools around Salawu, especially elementary school. The purpose of this service is to provide training to teachers in Salawu village about PMRI. The service method used is the method of community education, consultation, and training that involves demonstrations. Data on community service activities including photos of activities, answers to questionnaires and questions by participants. The number of participants who attended 25 people consisting of elementary school teachers and prospective PLP student candidates for teacher candidates in Salawu village. The result of this training is PMRI which can be well translated and can be applied by the teacher in his class immediately.

Abstract

The teacher's ignorance of the publication of journal articles became the starting point for the problems to be solved so it became the theme raised in this training. The solution provided through this training is material and guidance from the presenters to all participants. The purpose of this training activity is to provide information about articles and journals, as well as the process of submitting articles to accredited national journals, as well as the scope of it to MTs teachers in Garut Regency in particular, and generally to all other participants. The training method used has five stages, including introduction, socialization, training, practice, and monitoring. The subjects of this training are all teachers who are collected in the MGMP MTs Garut Regency, as well as other participants who work as teachers, lecturers, or students on a national scale. The training activities were carried out in two sessions, including material presentation and practical skills. The results of the evaluation form regarding this training activity were very good, all questions received positive responses and answers from all participants. It seems that several teachers have committed to follow up this training activity by trying to write their findings in the form of articles and publish them in the designated accredited national journals. This training concludes that the insights and knowledge conveyed by the presenters in this training activity can open the eyes of all teachers to aspects of scientific publications that so far have never even been glimpsed by teachers.

Abstract

Although the implementation of the National Assessment policy has been running for one year, it is suspected that the understanding of teachers, parents and students about the National Assessment is not sufficient. The results of the situation analysis on the understanding of teachers at PLB teachers Kab Garut regarding minimum competency assessments show that (1) teachers' understanding of AN is still low and (2) the ability of teachers to prepare problem solving-based questions is still low. The solution agreed upon with partners is to optimize learning by training and assisting teachers in developing problem solving questions. The target audience is 16 teachers at Guru PLB Kab Garut. The method of implementing the activity is the participatory rural appraisal model, the technology transfer model, and training. The results of the activity show that there has been an increase in teachers' understanding of the problem solving questions with an average score of 76. A total of 62.5% of the training teachers have also succeeded in developing their own problem solving questions in accordance with the guidelines.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam merepresentasikan ide-ide matematis yang diduga berkaitan dengan tingkat self-efficacy mereka. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji hubungan antara self-efficacy dengan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Penelitian ini melibatkan populasi seluruh siswa kelas XI SMA Muhammadiyah Banyuresmi Garut, dengan sampel yang diambil secara purposive yaitu kelas XI IPS 1 sebanyak 26 siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui penyebaran angket self-efficacy dan tes tertulis kemampuan representasi matematis. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif dan signifikan antara self-efficacy dengan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa dengan nilai koefisien sebesar 0,543. Artinya, semakin tinggi self-efficacy siswa, maka cenderung semakin tinggi pula kemampuan representasi matematisnya.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of interactive multimedia in differentiated learning to enhance students’ comprehension, mathematical representation, and self-confidence, while accounting for their diverse learning styles. The research involved 97 eighth-grade students at a public junior high school at Garut Regency, Indonesia, divided into four classes. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design was employed, grouping students homogeneously and heterogeneously based on visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles. Data were collected using mathematical comprehension and representation tests, as well as a self-confidence questionnaire. The results show improvements in mathematical comprehension by 17.59 points in homogeneous group and 16.86 points in heterogeneous group, and increases in representation ability by 13.08 and 12.41 points, respectively. Students’ self-confidence also increased in both groups, with a difference of 0.169 points. These findings indicate that interactive multimedia integrated into differentiated learning significantly enhances students’ cognitive and affective outcomes. In conclusion, multimedia aligned with students’ learning styles fosters an inclusive and adaptive learning environment, supports differentiated instruction, and strengthens students’ conceptual understanding and confidence.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesalahan matematis siswa SMA dalam menyelesaikan soal materi peluang berdasarkan pendekatan Newman's Error Analysis (NEA). NEA membagi proses penyelesaian soal menjadi lima tahap: membaca soal (reading), memahami makna (comprehension), mentransformasikan ke model matematika (transformation), melakukan perhitungan (process skill), dan menuliskan hasil akhir (encoding). Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek 28 siswa kelas XII SMAN 16 Garut yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes tertulis berupa lima soal uraian pada materi peluang, wawancara, dan dokumentasi lembar jawaban. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan paling dominan terjadi pada tahap transformation (39%) yang menunjukkan bahwa banyak siswa mengalami hambatan dalam mengubah soal cerita menjadi model matematika, termasuk menentukan ruang sampel dan jenis peristiwa. Pada tahap process skill (35%) siswa masih salah dalam melakukan proses perhitungan seperti kombinasi dan permutasi. Pada tahap comprehension (15%) sebagian siswa masih mengalami kesulitan memahami konteks dan informasi penting yang diminta dalam soal. Pada tahap encoding (10%) siswa masih menulis penyajian jawaban akhir yang tidak lengkap atau kurang tepat. Pada tahap reading (1%) menunjukkan bahwa hampir semua siswa mampu membaca dan mengenali informasi dasar pada soal. Temuan ini menyimpulkan bahwa kesulitan utama siswa dalam materi Peluang bukan pada pemahaman informasi dasar, melainkan pada kemampuan mentransformasikan soal ke model matematika dan proses perhitungan. Dengan begitu, rekomendasi untuk pembelajaran ditekankan pada penguatan konsep istilah peluang, visualisasi model matematis, dan pemberian scaffolding untuk meningkatkan akurasi proses perhitungan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan resiliensi matematis siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan subjek sebanyak 33 siswa di SMAN 2 Garut Tahun Ajaran 2024/2025 yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan angket resiliensi matematis berbasis skala Likert yang memuat empat indikator, yaitu keyakinan terhadap matematika, kemauan dan kegigihan, keyakinan pada diri sendiri, serta sikap bertahan dan pantang menyerah, yang dilengkapi dengan wawancara terhadap beberapa siswa terpilih. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menghitung persentase tiap indikator dan menginterpretasikannya berdasarkan kategori tingkat resiliensi matematis siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa resiliensi matematis siswa secara keseluruhan termasuk dalam kategori kuat dengan persentase rata-rata sebesar 79%. Indikator keyakinan terhadap matematika memperoleh persentase tertinggi dengan kategori sangat kuat, sedangkan indikator keyakinan pada diri sendiri menunjukkan persentase terendah meskipun tetap termasuk dalam kategori kuat. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa umumnya memiliki sikap positif, kegigihan, serta kemampuan bertahan dalam menghadapi kesulitan belajar matematika. Oleh karena itu, penguatan aspek afektif, khususnya kepercayaan diri siswa, perlu terus dikembangkan melalui strategi pembelajaran yang mendukung dan responsif terhadap kebutuhan siswa.

Abstract

Kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan kepercayaan diri siswa masih rendah. Hal ini disebabkan proses pembelajaran yang monoton dan siswa tidak aktif terlibat dalam proses pembelajaran, sehingga membutuhkan media pembelajaran yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematika dan kepercayaan diri siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis Google Sites pada materi Geometri Bangun Ruang dan untuk menganalisis validitas, kepraktisan, dan efektivitas media pembelajaran tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan studi penelitian dan Pengembangan (RnD) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian dan pengembangan ini adalah kuesioner, tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis, dan lembar observasi. Subjek percobaan adalah siswa kelas delapan SMP Swasta di Kabupaten Garut. Hasilnya diketahui bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis Google Sites memenuhi kriteria validitas, kepraktisan, dan efektivitas dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi dan kepercayaan diri siswa. Hal ini diketahui dari validitas media pembelajaran, berdasarkan hasil penilaian validitas media dan materi, menunjukkan hasil yang valid; kepraktisan media pembelajaran, menunjukkan hasil yang termasuk dalam kategori praktis; efektivitasnya dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis diperoleh dari hasil tes yang menunjukkan peningkatan dengan interpretasi sedang dan tinggi; efektivitasnya dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa diperoleh dari peningkatan dengan interpretasi sedang. Students' mathematical communication ability and self-confidence are still low. This is due to the learning process being monotonous and students not being actively involved in the learning process, thus requiring effective learning media to improve students' mathematical communication ability and self-confidence. This research was conducted to develop Google Sites-assisted learning media on the Geometry of Solid Shapes material and to analyze the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the learning media. This research is a Research and Development (RnD) study using the ADDIE model. The instruments used in this research and development are questionnaires, mathematical communication ability tests, and observation sheets. The subjects of the trial were eighth-grade students of a Private Junior High School in Garut Regency. The result is known that the Google Sites-assisted learning media meets the criteria for validity, practicality, and effectiveness in improving students' communication ability and self-confidence. This is known from: the validity of the learning media, based on the assessment results of the media and material validity, showed valid results; the practicality of the learning media, showed results that fall into the practical category; its effectiveness in increasing mathematical communication ability was obtained from an increase with moderate and high interpretation; its effectiveness in increasing students' self-confidence was obtained from an increase with moderate interpretation.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis peserta didik di Indonesia masih tergolong rendah. Penyebab hal tersebut diantaranya penggunaan model pembelajaran dan media pembelajaran yang kurang mendorong tumbuhnya kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis peserta didik, sehingga dibutuhkan pemilihan model dan media pembelajaran inovatif yang dapat menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis. Salah satunya adalah penggunaan model pembelajaran Creative Problem Solving (CPS) dan media pembelajaran software GeoGebra. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis peserta didik yang pembelajarannya menggunakan model pembelajaran CPS dengan media GeoGebra dan model pembelajaran CPS dengan media PowerPoint. Selain itu, pada penelitian ini dikaji bagaimana perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis kedua kelompok tersebut. Pada penggunaan media software GeoGebra diobservasi bagaimana respon peserta didik setelah penggunaan GeoGebra selama kegiatan pembelajaran. Hasil dari uji gain, uji-t dan uji mann-whitney dapat disimpulan penggunaan model CPS berbantuan GeoGebra dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif. Sebagian besar respon peserta didik setelah penggunaan GeoGebra selama kegiatan pembelajaran adalah sangat baik. Students' mathematical creative thinking skills in Indonesia are still considered low. This is partly caused by the use of learning models and media that do not sufficiently encourage the growth of these skills; therefore, it is necessary to select innovative learning models and media that can foster mathematical creative thinking. One such approach is the use of the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) model and GeoGebra software. The purpose of this research is to determine the improvement of students' mathematical creative thinking skills through the implementation of the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) model assisted by GeoGebra compared to the CPS model assisted by PowerPoint. Furthermore, this study examines the difference in the improvement of creative thinking skills between the two groups. Regarding the use of GeoGebra, students' responses were observed after its implementation in learning activities. Based on the results of the N-gain test, t-test, and Mann-Whitney test, it can be concluded that the use of the CPS model assisted by GeoGebra can improve creative thinking skills. Moreover, the majority of students' responses toward the use of GeoGebra during learning activities were very good.

Abstract

Kemampuan penalaran matematis merupakan kompetensi utama dalam pembelajaran matematika yang sangat penting untuk dikembangkan guna mendukung keberhasilan siswa dalam menyelesaikan berbagai masalah secara logis dan sistematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas penggunaan aplikasi Photomath dan Maple Calculator dalam meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Tarogong Kidul dengan penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL). Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group yang melibatkan 68 siswa sebagai sampel. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes esai yang telah tervalidasi dan reliabel, kemudian dianalisis dengan uji statistik untuk menguji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua aplikasi memiliki efek yang sama dalam meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa, dengan peningkatan skor yang tidak signifikan secara statistik (p > 0,05). Kesimpulan penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa Photomath dan Maple Calculator sama-sama efektif sebagai media pembelajaran digital berbasis PBL untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis tanpa adanya perbedaan yang signifikan di antara keduanya
