Abstract

ATV merupakan kendaraan yang dirancang untuk segala medan. Proses elektrifikasi ATV bermesin pembakaran dalam memerlukan proses desain ulang pada rangka utama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis desain rangka ATV listrik dengan menggunakan dua jenis material yang berbeda, yaitu AISI 1020 dan AISI 4130. Metode analisis menggunakan Finite Element Analysis agar keandalan dan ketahanan rangka lebih optimal. Dari hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa material AISI 4130 memiliki kekuatan yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan AISI 1020. Nilai von-mises stress dan yield strength AISI 4130 lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan nilai von-mises stress dan yield strength AISI 1020. Selain itu, nilai factor of safety dari AISI 4130 sebesar 2.1 jauh diatas standar minimum 1.5, jika dibandingkan dengan factor of safety AISI 1020 yang hanya 1.6.

Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelagic country with vast waters. Therefore, it is necessary to develop water transportation tools that support the exploitation of marine resources. Therefore, this study optimizes the waterjet thrust on fishing boat to determine the impact on fishermen's profits. Simulation to obtain the velocity at the nozzle outlet is carried out using CFD software.The purpose of this study is to obtain Waterjet Design Variation Variables that produce optimum Thrust Force. The design variables varied are the nozzle outlet diameter, the number of stator blades, and the number of rotor blades. Where each design variable has 3 levels and its degrees of freedom are 6. Thus, the Experimental Design uses the L9 orthogonal array matrix. The L9 orthogonal array matrix has 3 columns and 9 rows that can be used for 3 independent variables, each of which has 3 levels. From the test results, the smallest thrust force is 24.46 N in the 3rd Variation. Meanwhile, the highest thrust force is found in Variation 5, with design variables of nozzle outlet diameter of 80 mm, number of rotor blades of 4, and number of stator blades of 6. The highest thrust force is 38.58 N. The design variations that affect the thrust force are nozzle outlet diameter, number of stator blades and number of rotor blades. The results of the research have an impact on making it easier for fishermen to choose the specifications of the waterjet they will use.

Abstract

Sistem pelumasan adalah bagian dari salah satu sistem pendukung untuk melumasi komponen mesin pada mesin induk kapal penangkap ikan. Pengoperasian mesin induk pada kapal penangkap ikan memiliki durasi 24 jam selama 1 minggu hingga 1 bulan. Fenomena tersebut menyebabkan pengoperasian mesin secara terus menerus dapat menyebabkan penurunan kinerja bahkan kegagalan pada mesin. Beberapa kegagalan mesin induk dapat membahayakan awak kapal dan kapal itu sendiri. Oleh karena itu pemilihan perawatan pada komponen kritis sangat diperlukan. FMEA adalah salah satu metode yang sering digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi penyebab dan dampak dari kegagalan-kegagalan pada komponen suatu sistem. Penggunaan FMEA pada pemilihan prioritas perawatan sistem pelumasan mesin induk KM Mabrur telah dilakukan. Hasilnya berdasarkan analisa ambang batas RPN dan diagram pareto komponen saringan oli (RPN 288) dan oil cooler (RPN 120) perlu dilakukan tindakan perawatan. Berdasarkan kriteria RPN, komponen saringan oli dilakukan perawatan preventif dan oil cooler dilakukan perawatan korektif. Tindakan perawatan yang terjadwal dilakukan guna meningkatkan keandalan dari komponen sistem pelumas mesin induk KM Mabrur

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah mencari solusi atas permasalahan mitra dalam pemotongan rumput yang masih menggunakan konvensional maupun pemotong rumput gendong yang dirasa  masih kurang efektif karena ukuran lahan bumi perkemahan yang sangat luas. Teknologi tepat guna kendaraan pemotong rumput yang dibuat memiliki panjang 150cm, lebar 80cm, dan tinggi 125cm. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan dengan beberapa tahapan kegiatan yaitu: survey lokasi, sosialisasi program pengabdian, desain teknologi tepat guna, pembuatan dan perancangan, pengujian alat, sosialisasi dan presentasi kegiatan, serta demo dan penyerahan alat. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah mitra mampu menggunakan pemotong rumput sendiri dan melakukan perawatan sederhana pada alat. selain itu hasil uji menunjukkan kemampuan mesin kendaraan pemotong rumput lebih tinggi daripada pemotong rumput gendong.

Abstract

Desa Grajagan, Kabupaten Banyuwangi terletak di ujung timur Pulau Jawa yang mayoritas penduduknya hidup di pesisir pantai. Letak geografis tersebut membuat banyak warga desa masih menggunakan air payau yang bersumber dari sumur untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari seperti mencuci pakaian, mandi dan lain-lain. Hal ini dikarenakan belum adanya pasokan air tawar dari sumber air terdekat sehingga warga harus membeli air bersih dari jerigen untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari. Oleh karena itu, pada program pengabdian masyarakat ini, melalui Program Hibah Desa Binaan, diadakanlah sebuah acara pengenalan dan penerapan teknologi penyulingan air payau menjadi air tawar pada masyarakat di Desa Grajagan. Adapun kegiatan yang dilakukan meliputi pembuatan alat, sosialisasai, presentasi, diskusi, demo dan penyerahan alat penyulingan air. Hasil penerapan teknologi ini membuktikan bahwa air payau telah mampu diubah dengan baik menjadi air tawar dengan kadar TDS 220 ppm. Diharapkan setelah diadakannya program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini, masyarakat di desa Grajagan mampu mendapatkan air tawar dengan mudah dan cepat serta mengerti tentang cara kerja alat penyulingan air payau menjadi air bersih. Kedepannya, setelah program ini selesai masyarakat setempat akan mampu membuat alat penyulingan secara mandiri.

Abstract

This research aims to simulate and verify the aluminum material casting process using the sand casting method with a top gating system for traditional fishing boats. Numerical simulations were conducted to predict molten metal flow, solidification, and potential casting defects, specifically shrinkage porosity. Using the simulation method, the shrinkage porosity area was observed at the central point of the propeller shaft and alsoat the tips of the propeller blades. Consistent results were also verified by experiments. To improve the casting results, direct gating casting recommendations are presented but still show shrinkage porosity in the riser, shaft, and propeller blade tips. However, when compared to the results before the improvement, a reduction in shrinkage defects is evident. This research is expected to provide a better understanding of the optimization of gating system design in propeller casting using the sand casting method, thereby improving product quality and reducing the potential for defects in propellers used for traditional fishing boats.

Abstract

Hot rolling is a fundamental process in metal manufacturing; however, the operational integrity of the rollers is frequently threatened by excessive stress, which can lead to premature fatigue failure. This study aims to quantitatively analyze the effect of the cross-sectional reduction percentage on the distribution and magnitude of equivalent (von Mises) stress in hot rolling rollers. The Finite Element Analysis (FEA) method was employed to simulate the rolling process on rollers made of Ductile Cast Iron and a Structural Steel billet at a temperature of 800°C. Eleven simulation scenarios were executed by varying the reduction from 22% (industry standard) to 44%. The results indicate that the standard 22% reduction yields a very safe stress level (157.36 MPa), which is only 46.5% of the roller material's fatigue strength (338 MPa). It was found that roller stress increases non-linearly with increasing reduction, with a significant stress surge observed after a 41% reduction. The maximum safe operational limit was identified at a 43% reduction, which produced a stress of 275.43 MPa (81.5% of the fatigue limit). At a 44% reduction, the roller stress (369.37 MPa) exceeded the safe limit, indicating a high risk of component failure. This study provides a practical quantitative guide for the industry to optimize production throughput by establishing 43% as the maximum theoretical reduction limit.

Abstract

The design of components for vehicles used in tourist areas must be efficient, safe, and economical. The steering knuckle is a vital component in the vehicle's suspension and steering systems, playing a crucial role in transferring loads, connecting the wheel to the steering mechanism, and supporting braking components. This research aims to design, analyze, and fabricate a steering knuckle for a mini tourist car with a total mass of 300 kg using plain carbon steel. The design and strength analysis were evaluated using the open-source Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software PrePoMax to investigate stress distribution, deformation, and the factor of safety. The FEA results showed a maximum Von Mises stress of 86.27 MPa, well below the material's yield strength, a maximum deformation of 0.126 mm, and a minimum safety factor of 2.72, confirming a robust design. The component was designed to accommodate a 30204 tapered roller bearing. The fabrication process, encompassing cutting, machining, and welding, successfully produced a functional prototype validated through direct installation and load testing on the vehicle. This study confirms that plain carbon steel is a reliable and economical material for structural components in lightweight vehicle applications and provides a pragmatic engineering framework for developing cost-effective automotive components.

Abstract

This paper presents the model and performance of a portable solar power generation system designed specifically for the electricity needs of fishermen. The objective of this study is to evaluate the performance of the portable solar generator under various environmental conditions. The outline of this paper includes the design process, fabrication, and testing conducted under three different weather conditions. The main components of the system consist of photovoltaic (PV) modules, enclosures, batteries, solar charge controllers, inverters, and other supporting components. The three weather conditions examined during testing are uncertain bright rain, clear bright conditions, and heavy rain. The assessment focuses on environmental parameters, power output, and the efficiency of the portable solar generator. The results indicate that weather conditions significantly impact environmental factors such as solar radiation and ambient temperature, which are essential for effective natural cooling of module. The maximum output power of this solar panel generator system is 60,05 watts, with an efficiency of 13%. This system is designed to meet the operational needs of fishermen, with a portable design that facilitates their activities.
