Abstract

Hydroponics is an alternative plant cultivation system that used without soil. This system is quite popular with the community, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic. Many hydroponic gardens exist and survived today. Consumer preferences and behavior to consume hydroponic vegetables are certainly important for hydroponic farmers to develop their business. It is important for hydroponic farmers to know the consumer preferences of the hydroponic vegetables. By knowing this, hydroponic farmers will be able to formulate strategies for developing and marketing their businesses. This study uses conjoint analysis to determine consumer preferences for hydroponic vegetables and the combination of attributes that consumers prefer. The results of the analysis show that the order of attributes that are considered important in influencing the purchasing decision of hydroponic vegetables are 1) price, 2) weight, 3) packaging and 4) physical condition. The combination of attributes that consumers like is hydroponic vegetables with open clear plastic packaging, fresh physical condition (1-2 days after picking), weight > 300 grams per pack and a price of more than IDR 10,000.00.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on all countries, both in terms of the economy and in other aspects, including Indonesia. Many sectors are affected by this pandemic, but the agricultural sector is a sector that is able to survive (sector of the last resort). This study aims to determine the possibility of strengthening human resources in the agricultural sector by diverting workers affected by COVID-19 to the agricultural sector. The method used in this research is descriptive analytical method. The data used is secondary data which is annual data that comes from relevant sources from several relevant ministries. Data analysis used in this research is trend analysis and strategy analysis. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that the trend of increasing the daily spike in Covid-19 cases in Indonesia in 2020 is positive. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that the trend of increasing layoffs in 2014-2020 is positive. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that the trend of the development of the younger generation in the agricultural sector until 2019 is negative. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that the trend of increasing the daily spike in Covid-19 cases in Indonesia in 2020 is negative. The solution for improving human resources can be done by providing opportunities and opportunities for human resources who experience layoffs to work in the agricultural sector which requires a lot of manpower. Of course, you need to be equipped with several things because these workers do not have experience in agriculture.

Abstract

Cassava is the main food commodity after rice and corn which is the most important in development of food diversification to maintain national food security. Cassava production can be increased by increasing productivity through the right combination of production factors. This study aims to determine the technical efficiency and the factors that cause the technical inefficiency of farming in Karanganyar Regency dry land. The study was conducted in Wonorejo Village, Jatiyoso District, Karanganyar Regency in July 2022. 60 respondents was taken as samples consisting of 30 farmers who grew Jalak Towo cassava variety and 30 farmers who grew another cassava variety. Data were analyzed using stochastic frontier production function that was estimated with the Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) method. The results showed that cassava farms in general was technically efficient. The average technical efficiency is 76.9% and 80% of farmers have achieved technical efficiency above 70%. There are still opportunities to improve technical efficiency. Farming experience and growing Jalak Towo cassava variety have positive effect on technical efficiency.

Abstract

Ekosistem hutan Gunung Slamet memiliki peran penting bagi ekologi, ekonomi san sosial. Salah satu bentuk model pemanfaatan sumber daya hutan secara lestari adalah melalui penerapan agrosilvopastura. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk melakukan transfer pengetahuan kepada masyarakat sekitar hutan yang tergabung dalam Lembaga Masyarakat Desa Hutan (LMDH) Wana Karya Lestari tentang model agrosilvopstura dan meningkatkan pengetahuan mereka terkait model agrosilvopastura. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilakukan dengan pendekatan participatory rural appraisal (PRA). Masyarakat sudah dilibatkan secara aktif mulai dari pra kegiatan, pelaksanaan kegiatan, sampai dengan pasca kegiatan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diketahui bahwa pengetahuan dan pemahaman masyarakat yang mengikuti penyuluhan tentang konsep agrosilvopastura meningkat setelah mereka memperoleh materi dan melakukan diskusi terarah. Pasca kegiatan ini masyarakat diharapkan dapat mengimplementasikan pengetahuan mereka dalam bentuk pengembangan demplot agrosilvopastura.

Abstract

Food waste is a global issue that has been around for a long time but is unconsciously becoming more serious. This is also experienced by Indonesia, which also contributes to donating food waste. Food waste can occur from upstream to downstream from production to consumption. Farmers as actors in food production are also not spared from food waste behavior. This study aims to determine what factors affect food waste for farmer households in Klaten Regency. In addition, it provides ways of handling non-consumable food and strategic recommendations for the government in responding to the phenomenon of food waste to support food security. The method used in this research is descriptive-analytical. The number of samples used was 30 farmers in Klaten Regency. The selection of Klaten as the research location was determined purposively because this location is the largest rice-producing area in Central Java. The data analysis method used in this research is multiple regression. The results showed that two variables affect food waste: the level of education and the number of family members. The significance value of the two variables is 0.0000, so that the value is less than the alpha value of 0.05. Inadvertently, some households have processed the leftover food, such as making it as organic fertilizer. In addition, several households provide leftover food to livestock. The strategic step that the government must take in tackling this food waste problem is to conduct a massive campaign and, if necessary, implement it in the education system so that people are more aware of food waste.

Abstract

The sustainability of the forest ecosystem is threatened by increased human activities and anthropogenic factors. This condition can have implications for the sustainability of communities around the forest. This community service activity aims to implement the circular economy concept through training in the production of organic fertilizer from livestock manure in Kemutug Lor Village, Baturraden District, Banyumas Regency. The beneficiaries of this activity are community groups around the forest affiliated with the LMDH Wana Karya Lestari. The community service is conducted through a participatory learning and action approach, aiming to enhance community participation in developing knowledge and practical skills related to the utilization of waste as a sustainable resource. The training process includes theoretical presentations, practical fertilizer production, and application to plants. This activity is expected to increase awareness and skills among the community in converting livestock manure into organic fertilizer and developing a sustainable local economy.

Abstract

Business groups that have products must prioritize hygiene and sanitation of their production locations. This will be in line with the quality of the products produced so that the implementation of good food processing methods is the key. One of the KWTs that has a product is KWT Sari Melati with its carrot stick product. Lack of understanding of KWT Sari Melati members regarding good food processing methods. This community service activity aims to provide counseling and assistance on good food processing methods at KWT Sari Melati. This service uses the counseling and assistance method for KWT Sari Melati members. Of course, this community service activity begins with five stages from the preparation stage to the final evaluation stage. Based on the results of community service activities, KWT Sari Melati members already know exactly how to process food properly and correctly. The implementation and practice of good processing have also been carried out. This indicator can be seen from the carrot stick products produced which have better quality than before. KWT Sari Melati only needs to improve good food processing methods in terms of hygiene and sanitation of its production site.ABSTRAKKelompok usaha yang memiliki produk harus mementingkan kehigenisan dan sanitasi lokasi produksinya. Hal ini akan selaras dengan kualitas produk yang dihasilkan sehingga penerapan cara pengolahan pangan yang baik menjadi kuncinya. Salah satu KWT yang memiliki produk yaitu KWT Sari Melati dengan produk stik wortelnya. Kurangnya pemahaman anggota KWT Sari Melati mengenai cara pengolahan pangan yang baik. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan penyuluhan dan pendampingan cara pengolahan pangan yang baik pada KWT Sari Melati. Pengabdian ini menggunakan metode       penyuluhan dan pendampingan kepada anggota KWT Sari Melati. Tentunya kegiatan pengabdian ini dimulai dengan lima tahapan dari tahapan persiapan hingga tahapan akhir evaluasi. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat anggota KWT Sari Melati sudah mengetahui secara tepat bagaimana cara pengolahan pangan yang baik dan benar. Penerapan dan praktik pengolahan yang baik juga sudah dilakukan. Indikator ini terlihat dari produk stik wortel yang dihasilkan memiliki kualitas yang lebih baik dari sebelumnya. KWT Sari Melati hanya perlu meningkatkan cara pengolahan pangan yang baik dari segi kehigenisan dan sanitasi tempat produksinya.

Abstract

The Yogyakarta City government's efforts to minimize slum areas by realizing road widening on the banks of the Code River. This initiative was realized by creating the Pedestrian Code Gumreget (PCG). The aim is to improve the standard of living of people close to the river. The potential possessed by PCG, especially in the lower gemblakan area, is still accompanied by several existing problems. The first problem is the tourism potential that can still be optimized by adding new tourism items that can attract tourists to visit. The second problem is that the good tourism potential has not been supported by digital marketing in promotional efforts. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method approach. Data analysis techniques are preceded by compiling, preparing data, reading the data owned and analyzing data with a coding process ending with a description. In this Grape Village Introduction study, there are five activities that will be carried out, namely strengthening institutions, making processed grape products, cultivating grapes, digital marketing, social engineering and benchmarking. The results of the study showed that KWT GEMARI PCG succeeded in utilizing local potential by developing processed grape-based products, mastering grape cultivation techniques to grafting, and utilizing digital marketing to expand the market. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of empowering human resources in supporting ecotourism aspirations in Kampung Anggur, and shows that this initiative has great potential to improve community welfare through sustainable ecotourism.

Abstract

The community's staple food reliance on rice needs to be reduced through food diversification. Efforts to diversify food can be realized by utilizing local tuber-based foods. One type of tuber that has potential for development is gembili. This research aims to analyze the marketing channels of gembili in Sukoharjo Regency, from the farmer level to the end consumer. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach to analyze the marketing channels of gembili in Sukoharjo Regency. The respondents of this study consisted of 34 farmers, 7 intermediary traders, 5 wholesalers, 7 retailers, and 20 end consumers who were sampled for the research. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis. Data analysis was conducted by analyzing channels, margins, and marketing efficiency. There are 4 marketing channels for gembili in Sukoharjo Regency: Marketing Channel 1: Farmer – Consumer, Marketing Channel 2: Farmer - Collector Trader – Consumer, Marketing Channel 3: Farmer - Collector Trader – Retailer Trader – Consumer, Marketing Channel 4: Farmer - Wholesaler Trader – Retailer Trader – Consumer, with marketing efficiency values for channels 1-4 respectively: 100%, 77.27%, 56.67%, and 57.14%. Efforts are needed to improve farmers' access to accurate and up-to-date market information, infrastructure improvements such as roads and storage facilities must be prioritized to enhance distribution efficiency, and strengthening farmers' institutional capacity is a step towards improving the gembili marketing system.

Abstract

Sampah masih menjadi persoalan yang belum terselesaikan secara sempurna. Permasalahan sampah yang ada sebagian besar berasal dari tingkat rumah tangga khususnya minyak jelantah. Permasalahan sampah bisa ditangani dari tingkat rumah tangga yang dimulai dari ibu. Kumpulan dari ibu-ibu rumah tangga seperti PKK merupakan target ideal yang bisa diberdayakan dalam mengelola minyak jelantah menjadi produk yang berdaya guna. Kegiatan ini bertujuan memberikan pemberdayaan kepada ibu PKK Desa Kedungwringin dalam mengolah minyak jelantah menjadi lilin aromaterapi. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah service learning dimana edukasi dan penyuluhan diberikan terlebih dahulu kemudian baru dilakukan pendampingan dan praktik mandiri. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan pemberdayaan ini diukur dari kuesioner yang ada skor pengetahuan ibu PKK Desa Kedungwringin sebanyak 50 orang dalam mengolah minyak jelantah menjadi lilin aromaterapi memiliki skor 72 persen dan termasuk dalam kriteria tinggi. Kenaikan skor diukur dari penilaian before after dimana penilaian sebelumnya mendapatkan skor 50 persen sehingga terjadi peningkatan sebesar 22 persen.  Keberhasilan ibu PKK Desa Kedungwringin dalam mengolah minyak menjadi lilin aromaterapi ini diharapkan mampu menularkan kepada lingkungan sekitarnya.   Kata kunci: Lilin, Minyak, Sampah, Pemberdayaan.
