Abstract

Hydroxyapatite (HAp) is a ceramic biomaterial that is highly biocompatible and employed in a variety of biomedical applications. Its chemical formula is Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2, comprising calcium and phosphate, the primary minerals found in bones and teeth. The precipitation method can be used to change the structure of hydroxyapatite by replacing strontium ions (Sr2+) with calcium ions (Ca2+). This work aims to determine the physical parameters of Sr-HAp samples with substitutions of 0, 0.25, 0.3, 0.5, and 0.75 %-mol. The samples were dried at 105ºC for four hours and then calcined at 750ºC for two hours. Sr-HAp samples were examined using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and SEM-EDX. The XRD data revealed diffraction patterns with distinctive peak intensities, lattice characteristics, and crystal structures. The XRD data revealed diffraction patterns with distinct peak intensities, lattice characteristics, and crystal structures modified by Sr replacement. The FTIR data revealed vibrations of the PO3-, Ca–O, Sr–O, and OH- functional groups, with differences in intensity and peak shifts caused by Sr substitution. SEM results revealed the shape of Sr-HAp particles in an agglomerated form, while EDX supplied elemental composition data through a comparison of O, P, Ca, and Sr atomic percentages. The study found that Sr substitution and calcination alter the structure, morphology, and bioactivity of Sr-HAp. Sr substitutions at 0% and 0.5% are remarkable in that they result in multiphases after calcination.

Abstract

As part of performing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, community service activities were carried out to implement the rejuvenation of electrical installations, additional lights, and fans in Mushola At-Taqwa Rawa Mekar Jaya, South Tangerang with collaboration between the service team and members of DkM Mushola At-Taqwa in order to improve the quality of the mushola environment. These improvement expected to support the implementation of conducive and comfortable praying. The scope of the service carried out includes rejuvenating electrical installations by replacing and fixing electrical installations. Optimizing lighting both in the main room and on the mushola terrace using LED lights so as to give an aesthetic impression and obtain energy efficiency. Adding an electric fan to increase comfort for the congregation during hot weather conditions and remain energy efficient. In addition, a socialization on safe electrical practices was conducted, increasing the awareness of DkM members and the congregation of Mushola At-Taqwa on the correct and good electrical installation standards and their potential hazards. This study contributes to broadening the understanding of the technical and social implementation of community service activities carried out by Pamulang University in the community.

Abstract

Citrus fruit is a fruit that is favored by the public. The quality of the fruit from the garden to the consumer goes through a long process. Generally, the quality of the fruit is evaluated by a visual judgment ratio that can be wrong. This method also only evaluates the external quality of the fruit. The internal quality of the fruit such as sugar content is determined by a refractometer which belongs to the destructive method, and is not suitable for online quality measurement. A non-destructive and objective method to evaluate the quality of citrus fruits is needed. Electrical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) method can be used in non-destructive investigation. In this study, a non-destructive measurement of pamelo orange fruit was developed. The impedance change of pamelo citrus fruits during ripening was observed over a period of one week. The impedance of pamelo orange fruit was measured by AD5933 evaluation board and then the measurement data was analyzed by EIS Spectrum Analyzer software. Frequency-related electrical characteristics were observed, the results showed that the electrical impedance decreased and the phase increased

Abstract

Penyimpanan makanan dalam jangka panjang sering menghadapi permasalahan ketidakstabilan suhu yang disebabkan oleh kerusakan sistem atau human error. Ketidakstabilan suhu ini berdampak pada penurunan kualitas dan kelayakan makanan untuk dikonsumsi. Namun, sistem pendingin konvensional umumnya belum dilengkapi sistem monitoring real-time yang efektif, sehingga pengawasan kondisi suhu dan kelembaban tidak optimal. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini mengusulkan rancangan mesin pendingin berbasis sistem kompresi uap yang dilengkapi fitur Internet of Things (IoT) sebagai sistem monitoring suhu dan kelembaban secara real-time. Proses penelitian meliputi perancangan dimensi, desain ruangan, serta pengujian kestabilan suhu dalam ruang penyimpanan makanan. Pemantauan suhu dilakukan menggunakan sensor yang terhubung ke platform IoT, sehingga data kondisi suhu dan kelembaban dapat diakses kapan saja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suhu minimum sebelum sistem beroperasi berkisar antara 31°C hingga 31,8°C. Setelah sistem bekerja, suhu rata-rata ruang penyimpanan dapat dijaga stabil di sekitar 5°C. Data hasil monitoring menunjukkan bahwa sistem mampu menjaga kestabilan suhu dengan baik serta mendukung efisiensi energi. Dengan penggunaan bahan bekas dalam konstruksi, sistem ini tidak hanya hemat biaya, tetapi juga memberikan solusi inovatif sebagai media pendingin makanan yang hemat energi dan ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

In this research, the synthesis of hydroxyapatite compound (HAp) has been done by extracting technique from cow cortex thigh bones to eliminate organic compounds contained in bone so that it can be used as raw material of bone graft. The method used is alkaline hydrolysis method of soaking bone in NaOH solution with variation of concentration (1M, 2M, 3M) and immersion time (30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes). The extracted HAp powder was then analyzed using FTIR, XRD and SEM. The results showed that a hydroxyapatite powder with a soaking time of 30 minutes and a 2M and 3M NaOH concentration did not contain organic elements. The XRD peak pattern shows the phase formed is a hydroxyapatite with a hexagonal structure having an average crystal size of 10-12 nm.

Abstract

Pasir tersebar luas di seluruh Indonesia. Pasir mengandung banyak mineral seperti Fe, Si, Ca, dan sebagainya dengan persentase yang bergantung pada lokasi pasir ditemukan. Dalam bidang nanoteknologi terdapat salah satu material yang sedang banyak diteliti yaitu nanopartikel magnetik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pasir besi disintesis menggunakan metode milling dan menggunakan instrumen High Energy Milling (HEM) dengan penggunaan variasi waktu milling 4, 5, dan 6 jam. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada identifikasi kandungan mineral, fasa, dan morfologi yang terdapat pada pasir besi. Bahan yang digunakan yaitu pasir Sungai Musi yang berasal dari, Kelurahan Tangga Takat, Seberang Ulu Dua (Seberang Ulu II), Palembang, Sumatra Selatan. Hasil analisis Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX) dari sampel pasir besi hasil milling dari sungai Musi didominasi oleh unsur Si dan O. Kandungan unsur Fe pada sampel pasir besi Sungai Musi kurang dari 50%. Pada karakterisasi Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) morfologi permukaan pasir besi memiliki bentuk heterogen karena adanya agregasi, dengan ukuran partikel pada sampel pasir besi waktu milling 4 jam sebesar 1,66-5,64 μm, 5 jam sebesar 1,83-4,98 μm, dan 6 jam sebesar 1,56-4,89 μm. Nilai tersebut membuktikan bahwa waktu milling berpengaruh terhadap ukuran partikel. Analisis X-ray Diffraction (XRD) menggunakan Match! Menunjukan bahwa pasir besi Sungai Musi setelah milling mengandung magnetit (Fe3O4), kuarsa (SiO2), dan titanium dioksida (TiO2). Persentase kandungan mineral berbeda tergantung lama waktu milling, dimana semakin lama milling, material tidak hanya berubah bentuk dan meleleh, tetapi juga menghasilkan titik panas yang memicu eksitasi atom yang dapat memutuskan ikatan, dan menghasilkan produk baru.

Abstract

This study investigates the synthesis via solid state reaction and characterization of Li₇La₃Zr₂O₁₂ (LLZO) as a solid electrolyte doped with Al₂O₃ using a one-step heat treatment (sintering at 900°C for 4 hours). Samples were prepared with doping variations; pure LLZO (0Al-LLZO), 0.25Al-LLZO, and 0.5Al-LLZO, based on the formula  with x = 0, 0.25, and 0.5, and were mixed using ball milling for 4 hours at 25 Hz. XRD and Rietveld refinement confirmed the formation of a dominant tetragonal Li₇La₃Zr₂O₁₂ phase alongside minor secondary phases. Grain sizes ranged from 1.2 to 1.3 µm, and densification improved with increasing Al content. The 0.25Al-LLZO sample exhibited the highest ionic conductivity of 2.83 × 10⁻⁹ S/cm at room temperature, representing a 2.96-fold increase over undoped LLZO. These results indicate that Al doping significantly enhances structural stability and Li-ion transport in LLZO electrolytes processed at moderate temperatures.

Abstract

The use of steel panels in conventional bulletproof vests is no longer relevant to current needs. In addition to being heavy, troop flexibility is disrupted. It is necessary to develop lighter and more reliable composite panels. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of organosilica resin composite panels that were given variations of 5, 7 and 9 layers of woven fiberglass to withstand 9 mm caliber bullets using the NIJ-0101.06 Standard. The results of the firing test showed that the bullets were held back in the 7th and 9th layers. This result shows that this composite is a worthy candidate to replace conventional steel panels in bulletproof vests.

Abstract

Indonesia saat ini sedang gencar-gencarnya mengaplikasi Energi baru terbarukan, karena semakin berkurangnya energi fossil yang ada di bumi untuk masa yang akan datang dan program energi bersih dari karbon Net Zerro Emission. Energi baru terbarukan yang sedang di kembangkan/tingkatkan di Indonesia itu adalah energi angin, energi matahari, energi air, energi panas bumi, nuklir dan energi biomasa. Keuntungan menggunakan energi baru terbarukan Matahari (PLTS) yaitu, gratis, ramah lingkungan dan berlimpah. Matahari sebagai bintang di pusat tata surya setiap saat selalu memancarkan energi radiasi ke permukaan bumi sekitar 1000 W/m2. Nilai ini akan bervariasi tergantung lokasi, waktu, dan kondisi iklim. Namun untuk menghasilkan listrik dari energi matahari di perlukan komponen konversi yang di sebut solar cell dengan bantuan efek fotovoltaik.Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan sosialisasi tentang energi baru terbarukan seperti tenaga surya sebagai pembangkit listrik untuk memasok kebutuhan energi listrik bagi kegiatan sekolah seperti pompa air dan lampu penerangan. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah sosialisasi penerapan panel surya sebagai pembangkit listrik bagi anak didik SMAN 2 Kota Tangerang Selatan, Banten. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan memasang Panel Surya sebagai penghasil tenaga listrik yang diletakkan di area sekolah. Memasang beberapa titik lampu dan pengisi batere smartphone lewat sentral ruang kelas. Akhirnya kegiatan PkM ini dapat berhasil dengan baik dan bermanfaat bagi sivitas akademika SMAN 2 Kota Tangerang Selatan dan Universitas Pamulang di masa mendatang.

Abstract

South Sumatra had coal production through PT Bukit Asam Tbk, which had coal production since 1950. Tanjung Enim Steam Power Plant (PLTU) is the largest coal ash producer because coal is the primary fuel. Coal combustion by-products include coal fly ash (CFA) and coal bottom ash (CBA). The current utilization of the CFA Tanjung Enim Steam Power Plant is for a cement mixture of PT Semen Baturaja and planting media. This work attempts to optimize zeolite synthesis from CFA by examining the effects of hydrothermal duration on reducing coal waste. This research studies the effect of hydrothermal time with time variations of 5, 12, and 24 on the morphology and phase of zeolite obtained. CFA from the Tanjung Enim Steam Power Plant contains SiO₂ and Al₂O₃, which account for 47.7% and 28.7% of the total composition, respectively. The SEM characterization result shows that the synthesized zeolite forms aggregates with a particle size of about 8-15 μm. Based on XRD characterization of CFA hydrothermal time of 5 hours, the dominant phase is the gibbsite phase, but there is a sodalite phase. The 12-hour hydrothermal time showed the formation of quartz, gibbsite, and sodalite phases. The 24-hour hydrothermal time shows that the dominant phase is sodalite, but there are gibbsite and quartz phases. The peak of the quartz phase decreases the longer the hydrothermal time. In this study, the duration of the hydrothermal process affects the formation of the zeolite phase.
