Abstract

Film as a form of the media have the ability to influence audiences. A few films came to show the social issues that were occurring in society. Vengeance Is Mine, All Others Pay Cash about masculinity issue. The purpose of this study is to know a representation of toxic masculinity based on a film narration like revenge, a yearning must be paid deeply. The theories used are Gramschi hegemony, hegemonic masculinity and toxic masculinity. The qualitative approach and the method in the research used are narrative methods with a constructive paradigm. The study found the following findings: the story line in the film using a narrative model Tzvetan Todorov that has three story timelines, namely, the initial, middle and end story line. The story starts with a balance and then there comes the distraction that causes the conflict and then there's the balance again. In the plot was discovered the issue of toxic masculinity of a Ajo Kawir as a man with Impotence faced various issues of toxic masculinity. Vengeance Is Mine, All Others Pay Cash, it is intended not only to entertain but also to study and share perceptual about real social issues in society. And with this film's value analysis it can be used by the public to be the basis for digging for social values. Film sebagai salah satu bentuk media massa memiliki kemampuan untuk memengaruhi penontonnya. Bebeberapa film hadir untuk menggambarkan isu sosial yang terjadi di masyarakat. Contohnya adalah film Seperti Dendam, Rindu Harus Dibayar Tuntas yang menampilkan isu maskulinitas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui representasi maskulinitas toksik berdasarkan narasi film Seperti Dendam, Rindu Harus Dibayar Tuntas. Teori yang digunakan adalah Hegemoni Gramsci, Maskulinitas Hegemonik dan Maskulinitas Toksik. Pendekatan kualitatif dan metode dalam penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode naratif dengan paradigma konstruktivisme. Penelitian ini menemukan temuan- temuan sebagai berikut: alur cerita dalam film menggunakan naratif model Tzvetan Todorov yang memiliki tiga alur waktu cerita, yaitu alur cerita awal, tengah dan akhir. Cerita di mulai dengan keseimbangan lalu datang gangguan yang menyebabkan konflik dan sesudahnya keseimbangan lagi. Dalam alur ditemukan isu maskulinitas toksik mengenai Ajo Kawir sebagai laki-laki yang mengalami impotensi sehingga menghadapi berbagai isu maskulinitas toksik. Terkait dengan film Seperti Dendam, Rindu Harus Dibayar Tuntas sudah sepatutnya, sebagai salah satu dari media massa, film tidak semata-mata hanya bertujuan menghibur namun juga pembelajaran dan berbagi persepktif akan isu sosial yang nyata ada di masyarakat. Dan dengan adanya analisa nilai film ini dapat di manfaatkan masyarakat untuk menjadi dasar dalam menggali nilai sosial yang ada pada film Indonesia.

Abstract

Technological developments in the era of globalization make access to communication easier. This makes easier to get acquainted with new people through online media such as through dating applications. Fraud cases emerged in Europe through dating applications so a documentary was made called The Tinder Swindler. The film tells about fraud committed by an Israeli named Simon Leviev who pretends to be an extraordinarily rich person to deceive several women through the Tinder. This study aims to determine the dramaturgical theory used by Simon in The Tinder Swindler film. The theory used by researchers is dramaturgical theory according to Erving Goffman with the concept of front stage and back stage. Author uses a descriptive qualitative approach and Todorov narrative analysis method. Todorov makes observations on the film and divides it into three plots according to narrative analysis. the groove, beginning of balance, then the middle plot appears conflict and is completed in the final plot with appearance of balance. The results show that Simon Leviev uses dramaturgical theory in deceiving several women in The Tinder application which can be seen in two early plot scenes and three middle plot scenes. Perkembangan teknologi pada era globalisasi membuat akses komunikasi menjadi lebih mudah sehingga mempermudah manusia untuk berkenalan melalui media daring seperti melalui aplikasi kencan. Muncul kasus penipuan di Eropa melalui aplikasi kencan sehingga dibuat sebuah film dokumenter yang berjudul The Tinder Swindler. Film yang mengisahkan penipuan yang dilakukan oleh orang Israel bernama Simon Leviev yang berpura-pura menjadi sosok luar biasa kaya untuk menipu beberapa perempuan melalui aplikasi Tinder. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dramaturgi yang dilakukan Simon dalam film The Tinder swindler. Teori yang digunakan peneliti adalah teori dramaturgi menurut Erving Goffman dengan konsep depan panggung (front stage) dan belakang panggung (back stage). Penulis menggundramaturgyakan pendekatan kualitatif secara deskriptif dan metode analisis naratif Todorov. Todorov melakukan observasi pada film dan dibagi menjadi tiga alur yang sesuai dengan analisis naratif. Dimulai dengan alur yaitu awal keseimbangan lalu alur tengah muncul konflik dan diselesaikan pada alur akhir dengan munculnya keseimbangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan Simon Leviev menggunakan teori dramaturgi dalam melakukan penipuan pada beberapa perempuan di aplikasi Tinder dengan melakukan pencitraan menjadi sosok kaya untuk medapatkan hati perempuan lalu Simon akan menipu mereka.

Abstract

This research discusses interpersonal communication between trainers and fighters at the Syllabus MMA Training Camp, West Jakarta. Syllabus MMA Training Camp is a mixed martial arts training gym such as boxing, muaythai, and grappling/MMA. The approach used by the author is a qualitative approach and the method used is a case study. A case study is research about an event that has occurred without the researcher making any intervention. The results obtained in this research are interpersonal communication that occurs intensely between trainers and fighters. Interpersonal communication has a big impact on the development of fighters. Therefore, it can be concluded that interpersonal communication that occurs between trainers and fighters has a big impact on fighter motivation and performance. Penelitian ini membahas mengenai Komunikasi Interpersonal antara Pelatih dengan Petarung di Syllabus MMA Training Camp Jakarta Barat. Syllabus MMA Training Camp ini merupakan sasana latihan beladiri campuran seperti boxing, muaythai, dan grappling/MMA. pendekatan yang digunakan penulis yaitu pendekatan kualitatif dan metode yang digunakan yaitu studi kasus. Studi kasus adalah suatu penelitian tentang suatu peristiwa yang telah terjadi tanpa penulis melakukan campur tangan dalam masalah apapun. Hasil yang diperoleh di dalam penelitian ini adalah komunikasi interpersonal yang terjadi dengan intens antara pelatih dengan petarung. Komunikasi interpersonal memi liki dampak yang besar untuk perkembangan para petarung. Maka dari itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa komunikasi interpersonal yang terjadi antara pelatih dengan petarung memiliki dampak yang besar pada motivasi dan prestasi petarung.

Abstract

As a multicultural country, the opportunities for clashes and conflicts in Indonesia are wide open. This is due to the plurality and heterogeneity of Indonesian society which is reflected in the form of cultural diversity, religion, lifestyle in society which is quite complex. In the history of West Kalimantan Province, various horizontal conflicts have alternated, including 1997 and 1999, the Madura conflict with Malay/Dayak etc. The number of fatalities and material losses is incalculable. Singkawang is one of the 12 Level II Regions and 2 Cities in West Kalimantan Province. This city was included as the most tolerant city in Indonesia in two selections by the SETARA Institute. There were hardly any outbreaks of escalating conflict, even though the city is predominantly inhabited by ethnic Malays and Chinese from the Hakka or Khek sub-ethnic. This qualitative research with case study method was conducted with the aim of knowing and describing the potential of the people of Singkawang City from the aspect of harmony. The research was conducted by collecting data through interviews with three resource persons living in Singkawang and Pontianak, namely with researchers from the Institute of Dayakology, Malay ethnic leaders and Dayak ethnic leaders. Another data collection technique was to collect data from research sources, internet journals and from various books. The conclusion of this study is that there are several supporting factors that make the Singkawang people live in harmony. Namely, among others, regional leaders who are considered to represent ethnic groups in Singkawang City. Then the people feel that the city government treats them fairly. This political recognition can be seen from the celebration of religious holidays of each religion which is carried out lively. However, the period leading up to and after the Pilkada is one of the factors to watch out for that can trigger conflict. This is due to the unique composition of the population of Singkawang city, namely the majority are citizens of Chinese descent, while the contestants put forward identity politics.

Abstract

Korean Pop or K-Pop is part of the hallyu wave. K-Pop music consists of many artists. Fans of each artist gathered and formed a group called fandom. Each fandom has a culture that distinguishes one fandom from another. Symbol is a form of message that contains meaning. Through the interaction between group members, symbols can be formed. Fandoms have their own culture and symbols are included in their culture. BTS and EXO are in the top 30 most popular K-Pop boy bands since June 2021. BTS fans named ARMY and EXO fans named EXO-L. Both fandoms have symbols that become cultural and have different forms and meanings. This research was conducted because there is no research that discusses the comparison of symbols between the two K-Pop fandoms and the process of these symbols entering the fandom so that they become culture. The theory used in this research is the theory of cultural communication and symbolic interaction. The study used a descriptive qualitative research approach with fenomenology research methods. The research data were obtained from in-depth interviews, participant observation, documentation, and literature study of four sources. The results show that symbols enter through the process of cultural communication and the same form and meaning of symbols from the ARMY and EXO-L fandoms can be created through communication between artists and fandoms or between fandom member. Korean Pop atau K-Pop adalah bagian dari hallyu wave. Musik K-Pop terdiri dari banyak artis. Penggemar tiap artis berkumpul dan membuat sebuah kelompok yang bernama fandom. Tiap fandom mempunyai budaya yang membedakan satu fandom dengan yang lainnya. Simbol merupakan salah satu bentuk pesan yang mengandung makna. Melalui interaksi antar anggota kelompok, simbol dapat terbentuk. Fandom mempunyai budaya sendiri dan simbol termasuk kedalam budaya mereka. BTS dan EXO masuk ke dalam 30 peringkat boy band K-Pop terpopuler sejak Juni 2021. BTS bernama ARMY dan penggemar EXO bernama EXO-L. Kedua fandom memiliki simbol yang menjadi budaya serta memiliki bentuk dan makna yang berbeda. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena belum ada penelitian yang membahas mengenai perbandingan simbol antara dua fandom K-Pop serta proses simbol tersebut masuk kedalam fandom sehingga menjadi budaya. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori komunikasi budaya dan interaksi simbolik. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode penelitian fenomenologi. Data hasil penelitian diperoleh dari hasil wawancara mendalam, observasi berperan serta, dokumentasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa simbol masuk melalui proses komunikasi budaya serta bentuk dan makna yang sama terhadap simbol dari fandom ARMY dan EXO-L dapat dibuat melalui komunikasi diantara artis dan fandom atau antar anggota fandom.

Abstract

Crime in society's view is usually seen as closely related to the actions of men, so that crime is considered unusual if committed by women. This has an impact on the lives of female ex-convicts, often their gender as a woman is related to the traces of crime they have. The purpose of this study was to determine the social reality that forms of image representations of female ex-convicts in Ambon and to determine the impact of the image of female ex-convicts in Ambon in daily life. The theory used in this research is the construction of social reality theory, mass media, image, gender, and feminism. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research approach and case study research methods. The methods used to collect data are in-depth interviews, observation and literature study. The conclusion of this research is that the construction of social reality is something that is made by the community and disseminated externally so that it shapes people’s thoughts and behavior. This has an impact on thinking about women with a track record of criminality, thereby damaging the woman's self-image. Therefore, female ex-convicts are often faced with negative stigma and labeling and disrupting their daily lives. Tindak kriminalitas kerap dilekatkan dengan perbuatan laki-laki, sehingga kriminalitas dianggap tidak lazim jika dilakukan oleh perempuan. Hal tersebut berdampak pada kehidupan mantan narapidana perempuan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui realitas sosial yang membentuk representasi citra mantan narapidana perempuan di Ambon serta untuk mengetahui dampak citra mantan narapidana perempuan di Ambon dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Peneliti menggunakan teori konstruksi realitas sosial, media massa, citra, gender, dan feminisme. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dan metode penelitian studi kasus. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah wawancara mendalam, observasi dan studi kepustakaan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa konstruksi realitas sosial merupakan sesuatu yang dibuat oleh masyarakat dan disebarkan secara luas sehingga membentuk pikiran dan perilaku seseorang. Hal tersebut membuat pemikiran buruk tentang perempuan dengan rekam jejak kriminalitas sehingga merusak citra diri perempuan tersebut. Oleh karena itu mantan narapidana perempuan sering dihadapkan dengan stigma dan labeling negatif yang mengganggu kehidupannya sehari-hari.

Abstract

In everyday life, people build relationships with each other. An important aspect of social skills is self-disclosure. The HIV/AIDS virus is one of the social problems in society. People living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) tend to be stigmatized and discriminated against by society. People living with HIV/AIDS face the risk of discrimination and stigma when they reveal themselves. This makes PLWHA hesitate to reveal themselves. Instagram is one of the most famous social media in the world. Instagram is a platform that can help PLWHA express themselves. This study aims to find out how PLWHA express themselves through Instagram. This research uses a qualitative approach, with a case study method. A case study was conducted on three PLWHA. Data collection was carried out using in-depth interviews with three PLWHA who had disclosed their status to Instagram. In addition, interviews were also conducted with health promoters in the field of HIV/AIDS as a research triangulator. This study found that before PLWHA revealed their HIV/AIDS status to Instagram, they felt cognitive dissonance in the form of fear of rejection and stigma. This dissonance prevents people living with HIV/AIDS from expressing themselves. Support from the closest people greatly influences PLWHA to be able to express themselves. After revealing themselves on Instagram, people living with HIV/AIDS feel joy and love themselves even more. Self-disclosure on Instagram being done by uploading content in the form of photos, videos, and Instagram story features. Instagram provides discussion space for PLWHA. Dalam  kehidupan sehari-hari, orang membangun hubungan satu sama lainnya. Aspek penting dari kemampuan sosial adalah pengungkapan diri. Virus HIV/AIDS merupakan salah satu masalah sosial di  masyarakat. Orang dengan HIV/AIDS (ODHA) cenderung mengalami stigmatisasi dan diskriminasi oleh masyarakat. Orang yang hidup dengan HIV/AIDS menghadapi risiko diskriminasi dan stigma ketika mereka mengungkapkan diri. Hal ini membuat ODHA ragu untuk mengungkapkan dirinya. Instagram adalah salah satu media sosial paling terkenal di dunia. Instagram merupakan salah satu  platform yang  dapat membantu ODHA mengekspresikan dirinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimanakah ODHA mengungkapkan diri melalui Instagram. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan metode studi kasus. Studi kasus dilakukan terhadap tiga ODHA. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan wawancara mendalam dengan tiga ODHA yang sudah mengungkapkan statusnya ke Instagram. Selain itu wawancara juga dilakukan kepada promotor kesehatan bidang HIV/AIDS sebagai triangulator penelitian. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa sebelum ODHA mengungkapkan status HIV/AIDS ke Instagram, mereka merasakan disonansi kognitif berupa ketakutan terhadap penolakan dan stigma. Disonansi ini menghambat ODHA dalam mengungkapkan diri. Dukungan dari orang terdekat sangat mempengaruhi ODHA agar bisa mengungkapkan dirinya. Setelah mengungkapkan diri di Instagram, ODHA merasakan sukacita dan semakin mencintai dirinya sendiri. Pengungkapan diri di Instagram dilakukan dalam bentuk unggahan konten berupa foto, video, dan fitur Instagram story. Instagram memberi ruang diskusi untuk ODHA.

Abstract

One of the Korean popular culture industries, the Korean Wave, is a Korean drama series. Korean drama series is a series of shows or shows that are broadcast in the Korean language. This drama usually tells stories about culture, activities, or daily activities that tell about life in South Korea. One of the stories that are often made into a story in Korean drama series is about the construction of a woman's beauty, one of which is raised in the Korean series True Beauty. The Korean series True Beauty is a series that tells about the life of a woman who does not have an attractive appearance, so she covers her appearance with facial expressions to live her daily life. This study wants to know the dramaturgy of the Korean series True Beauty. The researcher uses Goffman's dramaturgy theory, which consists of several concepts: self-presentation, the front stage area, the middle stage area, and the backstage area. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research approach with case study research methods. The research data were obtained by observation and documentation of the 16 episodes of the Kore True Beauty series, as well as a literature study. The results showed dramaturgy in the Korean series True Beauty, namely when in the front stage area, Jukyung's character will play his role by using makeup. While in the center stage area, Jukyung's character will prepare himself by applying makeup. Meanwhile, when he was backstage, Jukyung's character was himself without wearing any makeup. Salah satu industri budaya populer Korea atau yang dikenal dengan istilah Korean Wave adalah drama seri Korea. Drama seri Korea adalah tayangan atau pertunjukan seri yang disiarkan dalam bahasa Korea. Drama ini biasanya mengangkat cerita mengenai budaya, aktivitas, atau kegiatan sehari-hari yang menceritakan kehidupan di Korea Selatan. Salah satu cerita yang sering kali diangkat menjadi cerita dalam drama seri Korea adalah mengenai kontruksi kecantikan seorang perempuan yang salah satunya diangkat dalam cerita serial Korea True Beauty. Serial Korea True Beauty merupakan serial yang menceritakan mengenai kehidupan seorang perempuan yang tidak memiliki penampilan yang menarik sehingga ia menutupi penampilannya itu dengan riawan wajah untuk menjalani kehidupan sehari-harinya. Penelitian ini ingin mengetahui dramaturgi pada serial Korea True Beauty. Peneliti menggunakan teori dramaturgi Goffman yang terdiri dari beberapa konsep yaitu presentasi diri, wilayah panggung depan (front stage), wilayah panggung tengah (middle stage), dan wilayah panggung belakang (back stage). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif deksriptif dengan metode penelitian studi kasus. Data hasil penelitian diperoleh dengan observasi dan dokumentasi dari 16 episode serial Kore True Beauty serta studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa dramaturgi dalam serial Korea True Beauty, yaitu saat di wilayah panggung depan, tokoh Jukyung akan memainkan perannya dengan menggunakan riasan. Saat berada di wilayah panggung tengah, tokoh Jukyung akan mempersiapkan dirinya dengan merias wajahnya. Sementara saat berada di panggung belakang, tokoh Jukyung menjadi dirinya sendiri tanpa mengenakan riasan.

Abstract

Public Speaking is one of the activities of a speaker when speaking in public to convey information, news, and messages to the audience or people who listen. Public speaking is not born by itself but needs to be trained to be a good speaker through the direction of others who are more expert. Everyone who has the ability to speak can learn and improve their abilities in terms of public speaking because basically public speaking is just talking directionally. Young people's awareness is very lacking about the importance of public speaking because the school system is too focused on theory rather than practice. One of them happened to the children of Nurul Jannah Orphanage, most of their children became shy if given the task to speak in front of the class or crowd. So, This PKM was held at Nurul Jannah Orphanage, that located in Malaka Road III No.84, Malaka Sari, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta. The PKM was held on September 23rd, 2023 until 3 weeks. The children of Nurul Jannah Orphanage are invited to work by listening to the tips given to be applied in life to dare to speak in public. This education is carried out by presentation and interaction methods during the course and children practice speaking in front to increase confidence, feel and apply the tips that have been shared. This education is expected to be useful and useful for the provision of the future of Indonesia's brilliant and successful young generation. The Result of This PKM was good to prove that all children are happy and educated.

Abstract

Education is a very important investment for the progress of a country. Indonesia is one of the countries that implements one of the points of Indonesian citizens' rights contained in Article 31 Paragraph 1, namely all citizen have the righs to a quality education tailored to their individual interest and talent. Education first comes from the family environment, then the school environment, and the community environment. However, in Indonesia, not all children are able to receive an appropriate education due to a lack of awareness of the important of education, economic disadvantage, and educational disparities which results in many children being reluctant to go to school and some of them even choose to drop out of school. Saung Baca Garpu and Rumah Belajar Kapuk are one of example. These two places are alternative schools that were founded to help children who have economic disadvantages and to embrace children who previously had no interest in learning to want to learn, at least they can recognize letters and numbers so that later they can write and read counting. From here their mindset was formed, that learning is just writing and reading. With this, the PEKA PENGAJAR Team was moved to make teaching and learning activities more enjoyable. By using team teaching methods, creativity methods, competition methods, and socialization methods. Therefore, from the activities that we have carried out, we have obtained results that children prefer to learn to be accompanied by quizzes and also change the mindset of children that learning is not only about writing but understanding what is conveyed. We really hope that the method we apply can increase children's interest in learning, and can be useful and beneficial for children's lives.
