Abstract

Masalah-masalah akibat akulturasi akan berpengaruh baik positif maupun negatif, seperti terjadi masalah adisi, sinkretisme, substitusi, dekulturasi maupun rejeksi Kata kunci: Rebana, duf, akulturasi, Sholawatan, genjring, kempling, kompangan, terbang, kasidah, barzanji.

The percussion patterns on all existing musical instruments, such as the musical instrument of koneng, kempul, penganak (bibit), interlude, and bass (terebang gede), still follow the framework of the percussion “standard” which is hereditary from previous generations. Until now, this accompaniment without the development of rhythmic variations has been used to accompany syair or sholawat Al-Barzanjiwith with tones of Sundanese-style songs of the salendro type. Changes in accompaniment were not made because this performance was only performed on special occasions for Muslims to broadcast and support worship which was not intended as entertainment music.

Abstract

The domination process in education often positions educators as the subject and learners as an object. It means that it negates the active awareness of the learners. In addition, the raising of political policies that are rooted in the positivism philosophy causes the education praxis is only oriented on the intellectual intelligence development of the learners, and it ignores the learners' existence as an individual who has another potential, such as emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions. Therefore, the approach of liberation education proposed by Paulo Freire becomes a relevant attractiveness to be implemented in education as education is a liberation and independence process for humans' awareness to determine their intention towards the world reality, particularly on the art learning aspects. It is supported as art learning needs the liberating education through the problem-solving approach and action and reflection implemented through praxis, namely the unity of intention, words, and works during the songwriting learning in PKNM Omah Dongeng Marwah (ODM) Kudus. This research used the qualitative method with a case study approach. The data collections techniques used in-depth interviews, direct observations, and document studies. The result of the research shows that the music learning model in PKBM-ODM runs freely, which means that the facilitators trust the learners to make their curriculum achievement. Then, the workshop presentation is dialogic learning done by the learners and the facilitators to find solutions regarding the problems they face related to songwriting learning. The last activity discussed is the workshop of hearing to do critical reflection for the learners and facilitators for always being creative and critical individuals.

Abstract

Music serves not only as an artistic expression but also as a medium to convey important social and political messages. For example, the punk band Pyong-Pyong from Semarang City uses music to critique social conditions. Over the span of two decades, the band has undergone transformations in its members and musical style, with their latest album, "Pigza," showcasing their evolution in the music industry. This research analyzes the symbolism in the lyrics of the songs from "Pigza" used for social critique. Using a qualitative approach and Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis method, this study explores the symbolism in the lyrics of "Pigza" songs. Findings indicate that four songs in the album — "Jika," "Mereka," "Kurang Piknik," and “Kita Ingin Damai” — articulate deep messages about social conditions and individual experiences in modern society.

Abstract

Bhineka Tunggal Ika reflects national identity, which contains cultural diversity values in Indonesia. Issues of intolerance and globalization often found in Indonesia are the main reasons for instilling children’s character values about diversity through children’s trilingual songs. This study aims to create and develop children’s songs in three languages (trilingual), namely Indonesian, English, and Javanese, as an effort to strengthen children’s character about tolerance and diversity. This research is a type of research and development (RD) using the ASSURE model by combining qualitative and quantitative methods (mixed method). Data collection was carried out using the method of observation, interviews, and written input on the assessment sheet. Meanwhile, quantitative data is collected through questionnaires and assessment sheets in percentage values from experts and users. The results of the study show that the song “Harmony in Diversity” can be used as an educational medium in educating children to have a global outlook but still love the national language and preserve regional languages. This is because they have studied, expressed, and appreciated songs with trilingual meanings and lyrics. The children’s song “Harmoni dalam Keberagaman” is declared feasible and applicable for learning at the elementary school level. This is evidenced by the data validation results, which show that all indicators, namely song components, language, appearance, audiovisual media engineering, and implementation, get very feasible criteria, with an average score of 89.59%. The aspect that gets the highest score is the display aspect, with a score of 90.48%, and the aspect with the lowest percentage is the visual media design component and the song component, with a score of 87.5%..
