Student truancy behavior.3) The influence of peer interaction on truancy. This research uses a quantitative research method of simple linear regression analysis with a population of 179, random sampling technique with a sample size of 124. The instrument used in this research is a statute. Data analysis in this research is percentage and simple linear regression.  The results of this study reveal that 1) Peer interaction on truancy behavior in other words the hypothesis is accepted that there is an influence of peer interaction on truancy behavior. 2). Peer interaction on truancy behavior in other words the hypothesis is accepted that there is an influence of peer interaction on truancy behavior in the sufficient category.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low desire, interest, participation, understanding, and attention of students in participating in learning in class X of SMKN 7 Padang. The study used a quantitative descriptive approach with a population of 216 students and a sample of 60 people selected through the purposive simple random sampling technique. The research instrument was in the form of a learning interest questionnaire with 44 statements. Data analysis was carried out using analysis requirements test and descriptive analysis. The results showed that students' interest in learning was in the very high category in the aspect of wanting to participate in learning, understanding, and attention, as well as in the high category in the aspect of interest and participation. Abstract

Adolescence is a transitional period where individuals begin to seek their identity and are heavily influenced by their social environment. Self-esteem is a crucial aspect of adolescent development that often fluctuates, and peer social support is presumed to be one of its determining factors. This study aims to determine whether there is a significant influence of peer social support on the self-esteem of eighth-grade students at SMPN 1 Luhak Nan Duo, West Pasaman Regency. This study employed a quantitative approach using a simple regression design. The population consisted of 229 eighth-grade students, with a sample of 146 selected through proportional random sampling. The research instruments were peer social support and self-esteem questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple regression analysis. The results showed that peer social support was in the fairly good category, while students’ self-esteem was in the moderate category. The regression analysis indicated that peer social support had a significant effect on students’ self-esteem. These findings suggest that higher peer social support contributes to higher levels of self-esteem among students. Therefore, peer social support plays an important role in enhancing students’ self-esteem and should receive attention from schools, particularly guidance and counseling services.
