Abstract

The use of gadgets and internet access opens up great opportunities to obtain educational content, enriching children's cognitive stimulation and creativity. However, a series of studies shows that digital parenting interventions practices and strategies parents use to maximize benefits while minimizing the risks of their children's interaction with digital media still face various challenges, especially during early developmental stages. Data from the Operational Curriculum of TK AN-NUR Sabah Balau Tanjung Bintang Lampung Selatan indicates that literacy including digital literacy is considered a basic need in the learning and communication process. This community service aims to reduce children's dependence on gadgets by enhancing parents' digital literacy, strengthening dialogic communication between parents and children in the digital context, raising awareness and skills related to digital safety and health, and integrating local values into digital parenting practices. The activities are carried out in two stages: Focus Group Discussions (FGD) involving interactive dialogues between the service team and participants to identify their initial knowledge about communicative parenting, and training sessions that provide comprehensive knowledge and understanding of communicative parenting for early childhood in the digital era, particularly in facing the challenges posed by the digital world. Evaluation results from pre-tests and post-tests showed a significant improvement in participants' understanding after the training. Before the training, most participants were in the very low understanding category, but after the training, the majority improved their knowledge, with 76.92% of participants in the 'adequate' understanding category and 23.08% in the 'good' category. No participants were in the 'very low' or 'low' category after the training, indicating the success of the program in making a tangible impact.     Keywords: communicative parenting, challenges and solutions, early childhood.

Abstract

Watermelon rind water extract contain of citrulline. Citrulline is a precursor of generating Nitric Oxide (NO). NO possibly reduced the level of blood glucose in streptozotosin-induced diabetic rats. This study was a laboratory experimental study completely randomized design. A number of 30 male albino Wistar rats weighting 100 – 200 gr were devided into six groups (N=5), with group 1 served as normal control group. The other groups were given streptozotosin to induced diabetes mellitus. The rats in control diabetic group were given CMC 0,5%, the others were given watermelon rind extracs for 8 days with different doses for each group. The results showed that serum glucose levels in posttest control group was significantly different, from that group of the watermelon rind extract 250 mg/kg bw/day (p = 0,000), groups of watermelon rind extract 500 mg/kgbw/day (p = 0,000) and groups of watermelon rind extract 1000 mg/kgbw/day (p = 0,000). The level of triglyceride in postest control was significantly different from that group of the watermelon rind extract 250 mg/kg bw/day (p = 0,000), groups of watermelon rind extract 500 mg/kgbw/day (p = 0,000) and groups of watermelon rind extract 1000 mg/kgbw/day (p = 0,000). The conclusion, the watermelon rind water extrac can be used to reduced glucose serum level (250, 500, 1000mg/kg bw) with the optimal dose was 500 mg /kgbw/day with the optimal dose was 1000 mg /kgbw/day.

Abstract

This study examines therapeutic interventions for expressive language disorders in early childhood through a qualitative case study approach. Using an indigenous psychology perspective, data were collected through observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis over a two-month period at a psychology and therapy institution. The findings indicate that behavior-based therapeutic interventions, when flexibly adapted to children’s developmental characteristics and contextual conditions, effectively support expressive language development. Differences in age and communicative readiness influenced therapeutic strategies and child responsiveness. The study also highlights the importance of parent–therapist collaboration in creating supportive communicative environments, particularly in contexts with limited parent–child verbal interaction. Although limited in scope, this study provides context-sensitive insights into therapeutic practices for expressive language disorders and contributes to a deeper understanding of early language intervention in early childhood education and therapy settings.
