Abstract

This study aims to develop learning media based on bilingual animation video for Past Experience material and to determine the effectiveness and feasibility of this media. The research method used is R&D which has been modified into seven stages, namely Research and Data Collection, Planning and Data Collection, Initial Product Form Development, Field Trial, Revision, Validation, Product Revision. The results in this study, the effectiveness of this learning media can be seen from the acquisition of pretest and posttest scores, namely pretest of 11% and posttest of 42%, which is the average value obtained from the number of students who reach the KKM. Then presented using a formula and from the calculation which means that forty-two percent of students have achieved the KKM score after using the media that has been developed by the researcher. The bilingual animated video-based learning media developed in this study was categorized as "very feasible". The assessment was obtained from the product validation results obtained by the validator, namely media experts with the results obtained as much as 88%, material experts with a score of 96% then linguists with a score of 88%.

Abstract

Diglosia adalah fenomena bahasa dimana dua bahasa atau dua variasi bahasa digunakan secara bersamaan dalam satu masyarakat, tetapi dengan fungsi dan konteks yang berbeda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan diglosia dalam berkomunikasi sehari-hari masyarakat desa wawonduru. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di desa wawonduru dengan subjek penelitianterdiri dari tokoh masyarakat, guru, tenaga pendidik, dan warga setempat yang dipilih secara purposive, dengan jumlah informan yang tidak terbatas dan lebih menekankan pada kedalaman informasi yang diperoleh. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tiga teknik yaitu observasi partisipatif, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan sosiolinguistik dengan langkah-langkah seperti kategorisasi data, analisis konteks sosial, dan penyusunan narasi deskriptif untuk menggambarkan pola penggunaan bahasa dalam masyarakat. Berdasarkan analisis penggunaan diglosia di Desa Wawonduru, dapat disimpulkan bahwa fenomena diglosia terlihat jelas dalam pemisahan penggunaan bahasa tinggi (H) dan bahasa rendah (L). Bahasa Indonesia berfungsi sebagai bahasa tinggi yang digunakan dalam situasi formal dan simbol status sosial, sementara bahasa daerah Bima berfungsi sebagai bahasa rendah yang dominan dalam percakapan sehari-hari, mempererat hubungan sosial dan mencerminkan identitas budaya. Pengaruh pendidikan dan perubahan sosial turut memengaruhi penggunaan bahasa, di mana generasi muda mulai mengadopsi bahasa Indonesia dalam konteks formal namun tetap mempertahankan bahasa daerah dalam interaksi informal dan keluarga

Abstract

The objective of this study is to ascertain the impact of implementing PjBL on the English learning outcomes of students at MAN 1 Dompu in the 2024 academic year. The present research employed a pre-experimental method with a one-group pre-test–post-test design using a quantitative approach. The population under study comprised all 216 eleventh-grade students. The sample population for this study comprised 25 students from class XI Science 2, which was designated as the experimental class. Sixteen students participated in the pre-test and seventeen in the post-test. The purposive sampling technique was utilized in this study. The data were collected through the administration of pre-tests and post-tests and subsequently analysed using a normality test. The pre-test results demonstrated an average score of 57, while the post-test average increased to 80, indicating an improvement of 23 points. Subsequent analysis of the post-test data was conducted using a t-test, which yielded a t-count of 1.728. The obtained value of 0.104 was then compared with the threshold of 0.05. In consideration of the findings, a statistically significant discrepancy was identified in the student learning outcomes before and after the implementation of PjBL. In reference to the proposed hypotheses Ha: there is an effect of applying the PjBL model on the learning outcomes of MAN 1 Dompu students, and H?: there is no such effect the findings support the acceptance of Ha. Consequently, it can be concluded that the implementation of PjBL had a positive effect on the English learning outcomes of MAN 1 Dompu students in the 2024 academic year.
