Abstract

Abstract

Extended Elastic Impedance (EEI) Analysis first introduced by Whitcombe (2002) was used for the predicting lithology review and fluid in a hydrocarbon reservoir. EEI is an application of an angle that is applied in a certain range until the zone of interest (ZoI) clarified. EEI is an interesting subject to observe and very useful to be applied on seismic attributes with its ability to predict lithology and fluid where acoustic impedance of sands and shale looks almost in the same pattern. Applying this method allows the result of the sand and shale anomalies to be seen in a different way. EEI has the ability to review the estimation of elastic parameters. In this research, It used multiple parameters which analyzed directly by using an original log from well that are a /  ratio, pseudo gamma ray, pseudo NPHI, pseudo resistivity. The results of this study indicate that the use of angle optimization on EEI can interpret the intended zone of interest.

Abstract

Abstract

Has conducted research using remote sensing methods being located in the mountain complex Ijen, Bondowoso - Banyuwangi, East Java as preliminary data to assist in the design of geothermal exploration survey. Remote sensing data used are images from Landsat 8. Landsat 8 infrared thermal image is processed as land surface temperature data. Processing land surface temperature using a single band. Methods in this study begins with finding NDVI (Normal Differential Vegetation Index), which is the value used to state how dense vegetation in an area. After it obtained the value of the fraction of vegetation and emissivity of land used for the determination of the distribution of land surface temperatures. The surface temperature of this land will be used as a guide in making the design of a geophysical survey in geothermal exploration further. Because geothermal areas associated with land surface temperatures were relatively high. Based on the results of data processing of remote sensing, land surface temperatures were relatively high in the area around the Kawah Wurung and Girimulyo that has a land surface temperature ranges between 3060ºC.

Abstract

Tiris area is one area that has geothermal prospects. Tiris area is located in the Tiris sub-district, Probolinggo regency, East Java. This study aims to identify the subsurface structure of the Tiris geothermal area using Topex gravity and DEM SRTM imagery data. The Topex gravity data obtained is still in Free Air Anomali (FAA) form, so it is necessary to make Bouguer and terrain corrections to get a complete Bouguer anomaly. A residual Bouguer anomaly is needed to study shallow subsurface structures. This anomaly is obtained by separating the residual and regional anomalies from the complete Bouguer anomaly using the moving average method. The study area has residual Bouguer anomaly values ranging from -0.5 to 2.9 mGal. The low residual Bouguer anomalies are seen in the body of the Lamongan volcano (LV) and the Tiris geothermal area (TGA). The study of subsurface structures is focused on the LV and the TGA through Forward 2D modeling. The A-A' cross-section illustrates the subsurface of LV, while the B-B' cross-section illustrates the subsurface of TGA. Cross-section A-A' modeling results show that the source of the low anomaly is in the second layer D2 = 1.24 g/  at a depth of 4.0 to 0.6 km below sea level and is suspected to be magma because it has a low density. Cross-section B-B' modeling obtained a low anomaly source at the second layer D2 = 2.03 g/  at a depth of 4.0 to 2.8 km below sea level and is suspected to be intrusive rock. The lineament display on the 2D of DEM SRTM map for the 45o and 135o azimuths shows that the TGA region has a high lineament density, and the orientation of the surface geological structure in the study area is dominant in a northwest-southeast direction.

Abstract

Abstract

A sliding plane is a layer below the surface that is impermeable. The sliding plane becomes a place where the soil mass experiences movement so that the weathered layer above it experiences landslides following the slope. Payan Hamlet, located in Punten Village, Batu City, which is the research area, is included in a landslide-prone village as evidenced by the recapitulation of BPBD disaster data for Batu City during 2022, 6 landslides occurred. The geoelectric method used in this study is the Wenner configuration. It was used to identify the subsurface condition and interpret the slide plane and direction of the landslide. There are 5 trajectories in this study with 5 m electrode spacing. Based on the results of 2D data processing, the distribution of resistivity values in the research area is diverse. The resistivity value is divided into 3 (three) categories. The low resistivity category with a value of 13 - 51 Ωm is interpreted as a clay layer, the medium resistivity category with a value of 70 - 100 Ωm is interpreted as a tuff layer, and the high resistivity category with a value of 100 - 200 Ωm is interpreted as volcanic breccia. The interpretation of the layer that becomes the sliding field in the research area is the tuff layer with a depth of ± 3.8 - 4m. Based on the results of 2D data processing and calculation of the degree of slope, it can be analysed that the direction of the landslide leads to the southeast side of the research area. Installation of evacuation route signs around the research area is considered as a disaster mitigation effort that can be done

Abstract

Indonesia is vulnerable to various natural disasters, especially volcanic eruptions.  Mount Semeru, located between Malang and Lumajang, is an active volcano with a history of significant eruptions.  The eruption on December 4, 2021, caused many casualties and infrastructure damage.  This research utilizes Sentinel-1 (SLC) satellite imagery to analyze deformation changes caused by the eruption, with a particular focus on DInSAR analysis to depict changes in the crater's shape.  Before the eruption, no significant volcanic activity was detected, resulting in no clear deformation changes, with a deflation range between -0.096 cm and -0.145 cm.  However, during the eruption, the outflow of lava forming lava tongues led to the formation of lava deposits that affected surface deformation.  During the eruption phase, the deformation changes indicate an inflation phase, with values ranging from 0.064 cm to 0.094 cm, reflecting surface movement due to the accumulation of volcanic material.  After the eruption, the deformation changes became more pronounced due to the perfectly and stably formed lava deposits, with an inflation value range between 0.037 cm and 0.079 cm, resulting in significant surface shifts.  Phase reading disturbances were also detected at several locations due to lahar flows that occurred during and after the eruption.  The results of this study provide beneficial information for the relevant parties in formulating disaster mitigation strategies related to Mount Semeru's activities, as well as in understanding the dynamics of surface deformation influenced by eruptions, lava flows, and the formation of lava tongues.
