Abstract

Banyaknya hambatan yang sering dihadapi peserta didik dalam mengerjakan soal matematika berbasis Higher Order Thingking Skill (HOTS) yang menyebabkan pembelajaran kurang optimal. Problem Based Learning (PBL) merupakan model pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan proses berpikir peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika. Untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan matematika salah satunya dapat menggunakan model polya.  Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan peserta didik untuk menyelesaikan soal matematika tipe HOTS berdasarkan langkah polya dengan pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) di sebuah SMA Negeri di kabupaten Karanganyar,  Jawa Tengah,  Indonesia. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), dengan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi,  tes,  catatan lapangan,  dan dokumentasi. Triangulasi teknik dalam penelitian ini digunakan untuk mengetahui keabsahan data.  Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan menyelesaikan soal matematika, lembar observasi,  dan pedoman analisis data menggunakan indikator polya. Berdasarkan analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan peserta didik dalam memecahkan permsalahan matematika meningkat melalui penerapan soal matematika tipe HOTS berdasarkan langah polya dengan model Problem Based Learning. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari ketercapaian indukator pada aspek langkah polya,  yaitu: 1) Memahami masalah meningkat (30,56%), 2) Merencanakan penyelesaian meningkat (44,44%), 3) Menyelesaikan masalah sesuai rencana meningkat (13,89%), 4) Memeriksa kembali hasil penyelesaian meningkat (47,22%).

Abstract

Elementary mathematics learning with an independent curriculum can be carried out well if the learning plan has been prepared well. This means that teachers must be able to organize teaching modules well. This service activity aims to improve the abilities of Madrasah 'Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah (MIM) teachers in Kartasura sub-district regarding the development of realistic mathematics-based teaching modules oriented to High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). The activity was carried out at Madrasah 'Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah (MIM) Gonilan. This activity in the form of a workshop was attended by 12 participant that is MIM teachers from Kartasura District. This activity is carried out using lecture methods and also exercises. Based on the results of the final questionnaire of the activity, it can be seen that there was a slight increase in the knowledge of the teachers regarding teaching module material, realistic mathematics, and HOTS.

Abstract

Latar belakang dilakukannya penelitian yakni kurangnya hasil keterampilan bernalar kritis yang diperoleh peserta didik dalam pembelajaran matematika. Adapun solusi alternatif yang ditawarkan, yakni Realistic Mathematic Education (RME). Tujuan dalam penelitian yaitu sebagai upaya untuk melakukan peningkatan keterampilan siswa dalam bernalar kritis pada pembelajaran matematika melalui RME pada peserta didik kelas V SDN Kabupaten Temanggung, Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu Action Research. Teknik pengumpulan melalui teknik pengamatan, catatan lapangan, metode test serta dokumen pendukung. Untuk mengetahui keabsahannya menggunakan triangulasi teknik. Peneliti menggunakan observasi dan tes untuk mendapatkan informasi dari sumber yang sama. Alat dalam penelitian yaitu pengujian keterampilan bernalar kritis, formulir observasi, serta saran untuk menganalisis data dengan menggunakan indikator berpikir kritis. Dari hasil analisis data dapat ditarik simpulan penggunaan RME dapat mengahsilkan peningkatan keterampilan bernalar kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika. Hal tersebut terlihat dari tujuan yang mengukur keberhasilan setiap aspek solusi.

Abstract

Critical thinking is a structured way of thinking in making decisions and solving problems. Because the critical thinking ability in junior high school students is low, realistic mathematics learning is considered to be able to improve students' critical thinking ability. The purpose of the research in this article is to describe the improvement of mathematical critical thinking ability through realistic mathematics learning reviewed from indicators and the averages increase each cycle. This type of research is Class Action Research that is carried out in 2 cycle. The research subjects consisted of mathematics teachers and 16 students of class VIII Muhammadiyah 5 Junior High School Surakarta. The data analysis technique in this study is qualitative descriptive to identify students and teachers during the mathematics learning process. The results of student work, data analysis are done by giving a score on each indicator. Score 1 if correct and score 0 if wrong. The results showed that the application of realistic mathematics learning improving the ability to think critically of mathematics. The average increase in mathematical critical thinking ability is 23.75% in pre-cycle, 71.25% in cycle I, and 85% in cycle II.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini mendeskripsikan kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal pokok bahasan persamaan linier satu variabel menurut kriteria kesalahan Watson serta mengidentifikasi faktor penyebab kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal pokok bahasan persamaan linier satu variabel. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang dilaksanakan di MTs Negeri 1 Surakarta pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII Program Khusus 2. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan menggunakan metode tiga alur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) siswa kurang teliti dalam membaca dan mengidentifikasi soal dengan benar sehingga siswa gagal dalam menuliskan soal yang diberikan; (2) siswa tidak paham dengan konsep persamaan linier satu variabel dengan baik; (3) siswa yang terbiasa tidak menuliskan kesimpulan jawaban; dan (4) siswa yang tidak menguasai materi prasyarat persamaan linier satu variabel.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to assess the mathematical critical thinking abilities of fourth-grade elementary school students. The research was conducted on a sample of students from class IVB at SD Negeri 1 Gatak, who were given a written test consisting of 4 questions on equivalent fractions to evaluate their mathematical critical thinking abilities. The study was titled "Analysis of the Mathematical Critical Thinking Ability of Grade IV Elementary School Students on Equivalent Fraction Material in Terms of Gender Differences". The results of the research indicated that female students outperformed male students in critical mathematical thinking. This conclusion was supported by recorded interviews with several research subjects during the preliminary study, where it was found that many of the subjects struggled to comprehend the steps required to solve mathematical problems based on critical thinking skills. Furthermore, the teachers had not provided examples of questions geared towards critical thinking skills, nor had they implemented teaching concepts based on mathematical critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to provide educational resources in the form of worksheets based on Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) principles and focus on the topic of equal fractions. The main criteria for these resources are validity, feasibility, and effectiveness. The development methodology employed in this study is the ADDIE model, which encompasses the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The participants of this study consisted of 14 pupils enrolled in class IV at SDM Alam Surakarta. The assessment tools employed consisted of assessments on student learning outcomes about equivalent fractions and supplementary materials in the form of questionnaires, interview guides, and observation sheets. The examination of the data reveals that the learning tools have achieved a high level of validity, falling inside the extremely valid category, with an average score of 4.26. The feasibility test for the LKS, conducted by the assisting instructor, yielded an average score of 4.4. The pupils' performance on the LKS assessment yielded an average score of 4.89, placing them in the "very feasible" category. The classical student learning outcomes achieved a completeness of 85.71%, as evidenced by an average score of 80.35. Notably, 12 students attained a complete score. There is a noticeable upward trend in student engagement during each learning session. The findings from the data analysis conducted on instructors' competencies in managing RME-based learning revealed an average score of 92, indicating a high level of proficiency. Students who were qualitatively integrated into the eligibility questionnaire also expressed positive responses. Therefore, learning tools based on Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) exhibit high validity, feasibility, and effectiveness in educational settings, as they have been empirically demonstrated to enhance students' mathematical proficiency.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi dari menurunnya hasil belajar siswa saat menyelesaiakan soal cerita dengan topik pecahan. Sehingga penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan sebagai identifikasi kesalahan siswa saat menjawab soal cerita materi pecahan untuk siswa pada SMP Negeri 3 Mojosongo yang didasari oleh teori Newman. Penelitian menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dan sebanyak 29 siswa kelas 7 menjadi subjeknya. Selanjutnya pada setiap siswa yang menjadi subjek, diberi tes tertulis sebanyak 5 soal cerita, dilakukan wawancara serta dokumentasi sebagai teknik dalam pengumpulan data. Analisis data penelitian ini memiliki tiga langkah yang mesti dilakukan, seperti mereduksi data, menyajikan data, serta menyimpulkan hasil penelitian. Sesudah dilaksanakan penelitian, didapat hasil bahwa banyak dari siswa yang masih membuat kesalahan saat mengerjakan jawaban soal cerita pecahan. Kesalahan tersebut digolongkan dalam 5 indikator kesalahan, indikator pertama merupakan kesalahan yang paling sering terjadi dengan persentase 26,67% yaitu kesalahan saat penulisan hasil akhir, selanjutnya yang kedua merupakan kesalahan keterampilan proses sebesar 28,89%, kesalahan memahami sebesar 17,78%, kesalahan transformasi 15,19%, dan kesalahan membaca sebesar 1,85%.

Abstract

Central nervous system (CNS) infections such as encephalitis, meningitis, or myelitis have high morbidity and mortality in Indonesia. High sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) is a sensitive marker of acute inflammation, while albumin is the most abundant protein component in plasma and cerebrospinal fluid (CSS). Infection triggers an inflammatory response so that an increase in the hs-CRP/albumin ratio (CAR) can be a predictor of worsening clinical outcome in patients with CNS infections. However, studies examining the predictor value of serum and CSF CAR on worsening clinical outcomes of patients are limited, particularly in CNS infections. The purpose of this study was to prove the CAR as a predictor of worsening clinical outcome in patients with CNS infections.  It was an observational study using a prospective cohort design. Fifty subjects recruited until October 2021 at Dr. Sardjito General Hospital were involved.  The multivariate regression analysis showed that serum CAR (OR=3.604; 95%CI=1.487-8.736; p =0.005) could be a single predictor. However, by combining three variables, namely serum CAR, CSF CAR, and decreased consciousness at admission, could be a stronger predictor of worsening clinical outcome in patients with CNS infection (AUC = 97.1%; 95%CI = 0.929-1.00; p <0.001). The optimal cut-off value for serum CAR was 1.35 (Youden index = 0.88, sensitivity = 96%, specificity = 92%) while for CSF CAR was 0.14 (Youden index = 0.60, sensitivity = 76%, specificity = 84%). In conclusion, a combination predictive model of three variables, namely serum CAR, CSF CAR, and awareness at admission can be a stronger predictor of clinical outcome in patients with CNS infection than serum CAR alone.

Abstract

Abstract. This community service is aimed at: (a) introducing how to design ethnomathematics-based student worksheets in mathematics learning for teachers of Muhammadiyah Junior High School in Kartasura;(b) holding workshops and training teachers in designing ethnomathematics-based student worksheets. The training was conducted online using Zoom meetings and Schoology Learning Management System. The participants were teachers of Muhammadiyah Junior High School in Kartasura. It was done through phases as follows: preparation, consisting of internal and external coordination; the implementation phase which covers the introduction and training of ethnomathematics-based students worksheets designed in mathematic learning. 17 teachers from Muhammadiyah schools in Kartasura participated in this community service. They have technically trained with new experiences designing ethnomathematics-based students’ worksheets and developing ethnomathematics-based students’ worksheets in their selected topic; the participants were fully engaged during the training. There were feedback and a necessity towards integrating cultural context in mathematics learning to improve. The results of the training show that 100% of the participants gave a score of 4 and 5 on a scale of 5 for the training carried out. In addition, the usefulness of the material and the quality of the presentation are also given the same value. Participants quite understand the material provided. This can be seen in the participants' understanding scores, 82.4% gave a score of 3 and 17.6% gave a score of 4. Abstrak. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk: (a) memperkenalkan cara mendesain Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis ethnomatematika pada pembelajaran matematika bagi guru SMP Muhammadiyah di kecamatan Kartasura; (b) mengadakan workshop dan melatih guru dalam mendesain LKPD berbasis ethnomatematika. Pelatihan dilakukan secara daring menggunakan Zoom meeting dan Schoology Learning Management System. Pesertanya adalah 17 guru dari beberapa SMP Muhammadiyah di Kartasura. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan melalui tahapan sebagai berikut: persiapan, terdiri dari koordinasi internal dan eksternal; tahap implementasi yang meliputi pengenalan dan pelatihan pengembangan LKPD berbasis ethnomatematika yang dirancang dalam pembelajaran matematika. Para guru telah dilatih secara teknis dengan pengalaman baru merancang LKPD berbasis ethnomatematika dan mengembangkan LKPD baru sesuai topik pilihan mereka; peserta terlibat penuh selama pelatihan. Ada umpan balik dan kebutuhan untuk peningkatan integrasi konteks budaya dalam pembelajaran matematika. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa sebesar 100% peserta memberi nilai 4 dan 5 dalam skala 5 untuk pelatihan yang dilaksanakan. Selain itu, kemanfaatan materi dan kualitas presentasi juga diberi nilai yang sama. Peserta cukup memahami materi yang diberikan. Hal ini dapat dilihat pada skor pemahaman peserta, 82,4% memberi skor 3 dan 17,6% memberi skor 4.
