Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of work-life balance on employee loyalty in the cleaning service at the Guest House of Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) Medan. The method used is a quantitative approach with a total sample of 35 respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression through SPSS version 20. The results of the study indicate that the work-life balance variable has a partial significant effect on loyalty. This is evidenced by the value: Thitung 3.589 and personal life 6.259, both of which are greater than Ttabel 1.693. Simultaneously, both also have a significant effect on employee loyalty with Fhitung 28.075> Ftabel 3.295 The coefficient of determination (R) of 0.637 indicates that 63.7% of employee loyalty variance is explained by the two independent variables of work-life balance, while 36.3% is influenced by other factors outside this study.

Abstract

The depreciation of the rupiah against foreign currencies has contributed to rising inflation, which directly affects the purchasing power of the community, including university students. This study aims to analyze the impact of consumption inflation caused by the weakening rupiah on students' shopping behavior and lifestyle. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach involving ten student informants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis consisted of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that inflation has significantly influenced students' consumption patterns. Students tend to prioritize essential needs, reduce discretionary spending, seek more affordable products, and adopt financial management strategies to cope with increasing living costs. Although some students maintain a consumptive lifestyle due to social and technological influences, most respondents have become more selective and rational in making purchasing decisions. The study concludes that consumption inflation resulting from the weakening rupiah has altered students' shopping behavior and encouraged a more adaptive lifestyle.
