Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan mengungkap makna di balik fenomena pendidikan Islam ditengah-tengah budaya carok di desa Bujur. Desa ini rawan terjadi carok,meskipun lembaga pendidikan berbasiskan Islam menyebar di desa ini.Sayangnya, tradisi carok ternyata tidak bernading lurus dengan julah pendidikanIslam yang ada. Indikasi ini bisa dilihat dari fakta yang terjadi di lapanganbahwa kekerasan yang berwujud carok masih menjadi cara dalammenyelesaikan persoalan. Tulisan ini menunjukkan bahwa: pertama, ternyatapola pendidikan yang diterapkan dalam keluarga dan pola pendidikanmadrasah sangat dipengaruhi oleh kultur masyarakat yang keras, sehinggakekerasan terinstitusionalisasi dalam masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, rekulturasipendidikan Islam yang mengarah pada pola internalisasi nilai-nilai yangdemokratis mutlak dilakukan. Kedua, materi pendidikan Islam, baik di lembagapendidikan formal maupun yang non normal harus mempertimbangkankearifan lokal, di samping kurikulum nasional. Dalam kurikulum lokal,pembahasan tentang tradisi carok secara khusus, dan persoalan kekerasan searaumum, dalam pandangan Islam harus mendapat perhatian serius. Ketiga,pentingnya pembekalan pada guru agar menggunakan strategi dalam prosesbelajar mengajar sangat jarang sekali dilakukan, karena terkait dengan komposisiguru yang rata-rata bukan lulusan bidang kependidikan, dan otomatis kurangmemahami strategi dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar.

Abstract

Abstract: The study of the integration of religion and science always attracts the attention of many people, especially academics in religious tertiary circles. Theoretically, the discourse is intended to bridge the meeting of religion-science, which in many occasions is often disputed. To the extent that there are many ideas on the integration of religion and science, at both the theoretical and practical levels, one of them is the idea of ​​establishing an international ma'had. This study will specifically examine the idea of ​​the integration of Islam-based moderation of Islam in Islamic religious tertiary institutions through Ma'had International. Three main issues that will be the focus of the study, namely: the concept of international ma'ad, the integration of religion-science, and finally, the moderation of Islam. Three focus of study will be translated into two research questions, namely; 1) What is meant by the concept of International ma'had and Islamic moderation? 2) What is the role and strategic function of the international ma'had in integrating Islamic moderation-based religions? This study is a literature study based on the type of qualitative research. The data used in the study are secondary data sourced from library data. The theoretical perspective used is John F. Haught's theory of religious integration. Theoretically, this study has a major contribution in enriching the science of religion, especially the study of integration of religion and science. in practice, this study has a major contribution in terms of providing solutions to the ideal idea of ​​integrating Islamic moderation-based religion in the environment of Islamic religious colleges. The findings of this study contain an in-depth explanation of the concept of ma'had International, as well as an in-depth analysis of the integration strategy of Islam-based moderation based Islam through the idea of ​​ma'had International within the Islamic diversity tertiary environment.

Abstract

This study focuses on evaluating the socio-religious response of pesantren in Madura towards Covid-19 pandemic. Using qualitative research and analysis based on sociology of religion theory, this study found that pesantren in Madura present anticipatory response to curb the spread of Covid-19 by prioritizing aspects of personal safety and risk-avoiding, be it material or non-material. This responsive move is carried out by pesantren through a series of actions oriented towards protection and preservation principles. At the practical level, these principles are implemented in two approaches at once, structural and cultural. The structural approach refers to pesantren policies implementing health protocols in its vicinity, such as social and physical distancing, using hand sanitizer, temporarily stopping congregational worship activities, and postponing ceremonial religious activities that attract crowds. On the other hand, cultural approach refers to the involvement of pesantren in sounding religious calls to the general public to always abide by the health protocols and procedures for carrying out activities of worship amidst the Covid-19 pandemic crisis.

Abstract

This article discusses the phenomenon of post-truth politics, role, and its influence on the return of Islamophobic narratives in the dynamics of Indonesian political constellation. There are three main issues discussed in this study: post-truth, Islamophobia in Indonesia, and contemporary Indonesian political constellation. Using qualitative research and analysis of critical theory perspectives, this study found that the development of post-truth political practices indirectly evokes the narrative of Islamophobia in contemporary Indonesian political constellation. The return of the Islamophobia can be seen in three ways. First, the practice of post-truth politics which is rooted in the politicization of religion and ethnicity, it gives negative impact not only because of unhealthy process of leadership circulation in Indonesia, but has also faltered the reality of Indonesia's plurality as a pluralist state, both in terms of ethnicity and religion. Second, post-truth political practices in which contain propaganda, intimidation, lies and hate speech have stimulated the rise of sentiment towards religious social groups, as happened in the “212 Movement”. Third, the return of Islamophobic narratives due to political Post-truth appears to be increasing clashes and practices of religious intolerance in Indonesia, where intolerance is practiced by the majority against minority groups. Artikel ini mengkaji fenomena politik post-truth, peran dan pengaruhnya terhadap kembalinya narasi Islamophobia dalam dinamika konstelasi politik Indonesia kontemporer. Terdapat tiga permasalahan pokok yang dibahas dalam kajian ini: post-truth, Islamophobia, dan konstelasi politik Indonesia kontemporer. Dengan menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dan analisis perspektif teori kritis, studi ini mendapati temuan bahwa berkembangnya praktik politik post-truth, secara tidak langsung telah membangkitkan kembali narasi Islamophobia dalam konstelasi politik Indonesia kontemporer. Kembalinya narasi Islamophobia tersebut terlihat dalam tiga hal. Pertama, praktik politik post-truth yang berakar pada politisasi agama dan etnisitas, telah menimbulkan dampak negatif bukan saja pada tidak sehatnya proses sirkulasi kepemimpinan di Indonesia, namun juga telah membuat goyah realitas kemajemukan Indonesia sebagai negara pluralis, baik dari segi etnisitas maupun agama. Kedua, praktik politik post-truth yang di dalamnya berisikan propaganda, intimidasi, dan kebohongan, telah menstimulus bangkitnya sentimen terhadap kelompok-kelompok sosial keagamaan, seperti yang terjadi dalam gerakan Aksi Bela Islam 212. Ketiga, kembalinya narasi Islamophobia akibat politik post-truth nampak pada semakin meningkatnya benturan dan praktik intoleransi keagamaan di Indonesia, di mana intoleransi dilakukan oleh kelompok mayoritas terhadap kelompok minoritas.

Abstract

Abstract

In many social studies, Madura is known as an archipelago with its various local wisdom, embodied in the socio-religious systems and structures of pesantren. Pesantren is a social system and structure that contains local values which have great influence especially on the formation of Islamic traditions among the Madurese community. This study employs a qualitative approach with a library method, combined with the perspective of the sociology of religion. Theoretically, this study is aimed to enrich the scholarship on social and religious studies, and practically to build Islamic culture that upholds the values of moderatism. The findings of this study contain an in-depth description of local wisdom values of pesantren in Madura, their role in, and influence on, the formation of Islamic moderatism among the Madurese community.

Abstract

Abstract, this research applied qualitative approach, by using field research model. The qualitative approach model that is applied emphasize more on Phenomenological perspective, which is focus on the interpretation and emic meaning analysis in the forms of expressions (empiric) found in the field.  While the focus of this research concists of (1) what is the meaning of "politic" for Kiai and Santri Pamekasan? (2) How is the tendency of Santri’s political attitude to the Kiai’s political attitude? (3) How are the ways and efforts taken by Kiai to defend their autoritative leadership?. This research took place in Palengaan district, Pamekasan regency where the focus of this study is the Kiai’s involvement and santri in the politic on regent and vise regent election in 2008 – 2013 period (Local Leaders Election), that is held on 5 March 2008 and on 9 January 2013 – 2018 period. The results of this research are: the first, the Kiai’s political formula is used to retain his leadership authority to Santri which relies on two powers, they are; traditional  and charismatic domination.  It means Kiaikeeps to retain his glamour as religious charismatic figure by using the symbols of obedience which are framed by religious moral values in retaining his santri’s obedience. Second, Santri’ political attitude have shifted from political obedience to the political difference although it is done by alumnus only. From their political attitude, it is found that there are three Santri’s political typology, they are: (1) Santri with absolute obedience, (2) Santri with fictive obedience, (3) Prismatic Santriالملخص:استخدم هذا البحث المنهج النوعي بالإطار الميداني. فيطلق المنهج النوعي على وجهة النظر الفينومنولوجية التي تؤدي إلى تفسير وتحليل المعنى الداخلي الذي يتعلق بالعبارات الموجودة فى الميدان. أما تحديد هذا البحث فيطلق إلى ما يلي: 1) ما هو معني السياسة عند أسياد المعاهد الإسلامية وطلابها فى مدينة باميكاسن؟ 2) إلى ما اتجهت سلوك السياسة لطلاب المعاهد الإسلامية نحو انتخاب أسياد المعاهد السياسي؟ 3) ما هي المحاولات والمواقف لأسياد المعاهد على محافظة سيطرتهم الرياسية؟ حل هذا البحث فى منطقة بالنجاعن بمحافظة باميكاسن بالتركيز إلى مشاركة أسياد المعاهد وطلابها فى سياسة انتخاب رئيس المحافظة ونائبها بمرحلة السنة 2008- 2013 من الميلاد ، المعقدة تاريخ الخامس من مارس سنة 2008 م وفى  فترة بين شهر يناير 2008 إلى يناير 2018. فالاستنتاجات من هذا البحث هي: 1) صيغة أسياد المعاهد السياسية المستخدمة فى محافظة سيطرتهم الرياسية على جميع الطلاب تركز إلى القوتين، هما: التقليدية و الهيمنة الكاريزمية. فهما تعنيان أن أسياد المعاهد يحافظ أنفسهم كأشخاص كاريزمي متدين برموز الطاعات مع إطارات القيم الدينية فى محافظة طاعات الطلاب نحوهم. 2) وقوع التغييرات فى الاتجاهات السياسية لطلاب المعاهد من الإطاعة السياسية إلى التفرق السياسي، رغم أن ذلك منفذ فى المجالات المحدودة (فرقة الخريجين). فمن قبل الاتجاهات المتنوعة، أوجد الباحث ثلاثة أنواع الطلاب: 1) الطلاب المطيع فى الدرجة المطلقة، 2) الطلاب المطيع فى الدرجة الزائفة، 3) الطلاب البرسماتيكية.Abstrak: penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan model penelitian lapangan. Model pendekatan kualitatif yang digunakan lebih menekankan pada perspektif fenomenologi, yaitu penekanan kepada interpretasi dan analisis makna emic yang berupa ungkapan-ungkapan (empiris) yang ditemukan di lapangan. Adapun, fokus penelitian ini terdiri dari: (1) Apa makna politik bagi kiai dan santri di Pamekasan? (2) Bagaimana  kecenderungan perilaku politik santri terhadap pilihan politik kiai?  (3) Bagaimana upaya dan sikap kiai mempertahankan otoritas kepemimpinannya? Riset ini mengambil tempat di Kecamatan Palengaan, Kabupaten Pamekasan dengan fokus kajian keterlibatan kiai dan santri dalam politik pemilihan  bupati dan wakil bupati periode 2008-2013 (Pilkada), yang dilaksanakan pada tanggal 5, Maret 2008 dan periode 9 Januari 2013-2018. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: Pertama, formula politik kiai yang digunakan dalam mempertahankan otoritas kepemimpinannya terhadap santri bertumpu pada dua kekuatan yatu; traditional dan charismatic domination. Artinya kiai tetap mempertahankan pesona sebagai sosok karismatik relijius melalui simbol-simbol kepatuhan yang dibingkai nilai moral agama dalam mempertahankan kepatuhan santrinya.  Kedua, perilaku politik santri telah terjadi pergeseran dari kepatuhan politik ke perbedaan politik walaupun hal itu dilakukan oleh sebatas santri alumni. Dari perilaku politik santri tersebut  ditemukan   ada tiga tipologi politik santri yaitu: (1) Santri patuh mutlak, (2) Santri patuh semu dan (3) Santri prismatik.

Abstract

This study discusses the phenomenon of Islamic disruption among contemporary Muslims in Indonesia. There are three research questions discussed in this study; How is the existence of Muslim netizens in Indonesia today? What are the religious dynamics that occur among Muslim netizens in Indonesia? How does the disruption of Islam affect their religious patterns and behavior? By conducting an in-depth analysis based on the perspective of postmodern sociological theory, this study found three findings; First, contemporary Indonesian Muslims are Muslim netizens who have a high dependence on technology and information media with digital platforms. Second, the Islamic disruptions among native Muslims occur in two aspects, namely the aspect of worship marked by a shift in religious behavior from traditional rituals to modern rituals. Next is the education aspect, shifting the Muslim netizen's religious learning tradition which is no longer centered in the conventional space, but shifts to a digital-based virtual space. Third, religious disruption affects the religious culture of Muslim netizens through three elements; speed, surprise, and finally a sudden shift.

Abstract

Abstract: The study focuses on discussing the phenomena of Islamic populism politics, its role and impact to the future Indonesian democracy. More specifically this study addressed two major issues, namely Islamic populism, and democracy in Indonesia. By using qualitative study and analysis through critical sociology theory, this study found that the phenomena of Islamic populism as a global political phenomenon which occurred in numerous countries in the world affected the process of democracy in Indonesia. This is shown by the occurrance of primordialism issue, mainly roots from the Islamic identity. In fact, the problem of Islamic populism politics for the construction of Indonesian democracy system could be seen from two factors; First, Islamic populism politics which practically uses the religion issue has triggered religious intolerance. This gives impacts on the uprise of exclusivism which ends up in sentimental behavior; Second, exploitation of Islamic populism issue gives negative consequences on the incline of intolerance behavior trend in politic sector both politics in the legislative area, especially the political dynamics and at the executive level.الملخص: تركز الدراسة على مناقشة ظواهر السياسة الشعوبية الإسلامية ودورها وتأثيرها على الديمقراطية الإندونيسية المستقبلية. هناك ثلاث بيانات للمشاكل في الدراسة ؛ الشعبوية الإسلامية والديمقراطية في إندونيسيا. باستخدام الدراسة والتحليل النوعيين من خلال نظرية علم الاجتماع النقدي ، وجدت هذه الدراسة أن ظاهرة الشعبوية الإسلامية السياسة العالمية التي حدثت في العديد من البلدان في العالم أثرت على عملية الديمقراطية في إندونيسيا. ويتجلى ذلك من خلال وقوع قضية البدائية التي تعود جذورها بشكل أساسي إلى الهوية الإسلامية. في الواقع ، يمكن رؤية مشكلة استخدام السياسة الشعوبية الإسلامية لبناء نظام ديمقراطي إندونيسي من عاملين ؛ أولاً ، تسببت السياسة الشعوبية الإسلامية التي تستخدم مسألة الدين عملياً في عدم التسامح في القطاع الديني. ويؤثر هذا على صعود النزعة الاستئثارية التي تنتهي بالسلوك العاطفي ؛ ثانيًا ، يؤدي استغلال قضية الشعبوية الإسلامية إلى عواقب وخيمة على ميل نزعة سلوك التعصب في القطاع السياسي.Abstrak: Studi ini fokus membahas fenomena politik populisme Islam, peran dan pengaruhnya terhadap masa depan demokrasi di Indonesia. Terdapat dua permasalahan penelitian yang diangkat dalam kajian ini; fenomena populisme Islam, dan terakhir adalah demokrasi di Indonesia. Dengan menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dan analisa melalui teori sosiologi kritis, studi ini mendapati temuan bahwa fenomena populuisme Islam yang terjadi di banyak negara dunia, saat ini juga telah mewarnai demokratisasi di Indonesia. Demikian ditandai oleh mengemukanya penggunaan isu primordialisme, terutama yang mengakar pada aspek identitas. Dalam kenyataannya, problem penggunaan politik populisme Islam terhadap bangunan sistem demokrasi di Indonesia dapat dilihat dari dua hal; Pertama, politik populisme Islam yang dalam praktiknya memanfaatkan isu agama telah menimbulkan intoleransi di sektor keagamaan. Hal ini berdampak negatif terhadap bangkitnya eksklusivisme yang berujung pada perilaku anarkisme dan kekerasan yang mengatasnmakan agama; Kedua, eksploitasi isu populisme Islam berakibat buruk terhadap realitas politik. Baik politik di wilayah legislatif, terlebih lagi dinamika politik di level eksekutif.
