Abstract

This study aims to analyse education empowerment in rural areas through inclusive management to create child-friendly schools. The study is based on the increasing need for an education system that can serve all children, including those with special needs, especially in rural areas, so inclusive management in schools plays a vital role in ensuring equal opportunities for all students. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study methodology, using in-depth interviews and observations as data collection techniques, with data analysis according to the Miles and Huberman approach. The study's findings revealed that empowering child-friendly schools in rural areas requires the implementation of a responsive curriculum, a safe and inclusive school environment, qualified teachers with continuous professional development, and active community participation. A secure and discrimination-free environment fosters students' social and emotional development, while professional development for teachers enhances their ability to meet the various needs of students. In addition, community participation in inclusive management strengthens the support of resources, facilities, and social collaboration, significantly contributing to the creation of stronger inclusive education in rural areas. The study contributes to understanding the essential components needed to implement inclusive education in rural areas.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Quizizz-based Chromebooks in Fiqh learning in class X of Madrasah Aliyah as a strategy to increase student interest and engagement. The problem of low learning enthusiasm arising from the dominance of the lecture method is the basis for conducting this study. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach, involving Fiqh teachers and students as data sources through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the use of Chromebooks supported by the Quizziz application can create a more interactive learning atmosphere, foster motivation, and help students understand the material through direct feedback. Teachers benefit from the reporting feature that facilitates the process of evaluating learning outcomes in a more targeted manner. Overall, this integration of digital technology shifts Fiqh learning from traditional patterns to a more varied, active approach that suits the character of the current generation.

Abstract

Abstract: Indonesia is a country that has racial, cultural, religious and ethnic diversity. This diversity can also cause conflicts if not managed properly. To prevent the occurrence of these conflicts, multicultural education is needed. Multicultural education is not explicitly mentioned in the National Education System Law, but the Law in the National Education System leads to multicultural education. The research method used is library research by analyzing articles on the implementation of multicultural education in practice which are presented in detail in the table. Implementation has three important aspects, namely, planning in the form of curriculum, implementation in the form of learning methods and evaluation in the form of application or impact of the implementation of the curriculum and teaching methods. In the implementation of multicultural education, there are also challenges and opportunities. The challenges are, the ambiguity of tolerance limits, the tendency of restrictions on homogeneous or similar groups and the lack of understanding of the younger generation in using social media. Keywords: education, multicultural, implementation Abstrak: Indonesia merupkan negara yang memiliki keragaman ras, budaya, agama dan etnis. Abstract

This study focuses on discussing the debate around the ideal format of the general election system in Indonesia, between open, closed, and mixed proportional systems. There are three research questions raised in this study, how is the application of a proportional system in the dynamics of elections in Indonesia? What are the weaknesses and strengths of implementing a proportional electoral system in Indonesia, both with open and closed systems? Is it possible for two electoral proportional systems (open and closed) to be mated into a new system, a mixed proportional system, for example? This research was conducted based on a qualitative approach. The sources and types of data used are secondary data, especially those from library materials such as books, journals, previous research results, and information media, both print and online. After analyzing field data based on the perspective of political sociology theory, this study found the finding that since it was first held in 1955, elections in Indonesia have used a proportional system to date, starting from a closed system and then moving on to an open system. At the practical level, both of these approaches have weaknesses. Closed proportionality tends to weaken people's participation, while open proportionality makes political parties not optimally carry out their party functions. In order to bridge this problem, a new approach is needed, one of which is to implement a mixed member proportional (MMP) system. In general, the idea of a mixed proportional system has advantages in terms of strengthening the function of political parties and the participation of the people to directly elect their representatives.

Abstract

This study aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the emergence of da'wah using new media (social media) in Indonesia and its role in producing a new popular Islamic culture among millennial preachers in Indonesia. Methodologically, this study used qualitative research with a netnographic approach. Two types of data sources, primary and secondary, were used, taken from the 2015-2023 period. This study found two findings after analyzing the field data. First, the phenomenon of da'wah conducted by Hanan Attaki and Felix Siauw in the new media space, especially through the Instagram platform, creates a new popular Islamic culture involving netizens in consuming religious information. Netizens tend to be exposed to the glittering flood of information that can shift their conventional religious understanding and faith.  Second, at certain levels, the contemporary da'wah model shown by Hanan Attaki and Felix Siauw can represent the presence and existence of a new popular Islamic culture in Indonesia. This is because the contemporary style shown by Hanan Attaki and Felix Siauw, in many of their da'wah activities, contains elements of mass culture and the new media industry in the form of visualization and commodification of religious dimensions, values, and meanings

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integrative relationship between the epistemological frameworks of Bayani, Burhani, and Irfani and their relevance to contemporary Islamic education. The research addresses the limited implementation of integrative epistemology in Islamic educational institutions, which tend to apply these epistemic models partially. Using a qualitative library research design, this study employs content analysis to examine primary texts from M. Amin Abdullah, Suhrawardi, and Mulla Sadra, supported by secondary literature from scholarly works and journals. The findings reveal that dominance of a single epistemology particularly Bayani creates an imbalance that marginalizes rational and spiritual dimensions. The study identifies that an integrative-interconnective model enables a more holistic educational paradigm by harmonizing textual authority, rational inquiry, and spiritual intuition. This integrated approach is proven capable of strengthening curriculum development, enriching pedagogical practices, and enhancing students’ character formation in contemporary Islamic education. The study concludes that adopting an integrative epistemological model is crucial for developing an Islamic education system that is responsive, balanced, and aligned with modern scientific developments.

Abstract

The phenomena of puritanism and fundamentalism in Islam have become central issues in the dynamics of contemporary religious thought and movements. The urgency of this research lies in the need to comprehensively understand both currents of thought, given the often overlapping use of terms and the increasing relevance of both in the social, cultural, and political contexts of modern Muslims. This research aims to analyze the historical roots, epistemological characteristics, and development of the puritanism and fundamentalism movements in Islam, while also explaining the similarities, differences, and conceptual relationships between them. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach through library research, with a search for relevant classical and contemporary literature. The results show that puritanism is rooted in efforts to purify teachings and reject religious practices deemed deviant, while fundamentalism developed in response to modernity and colonialism by emphasizing the application of sharia as the basis of socio-political order. This research also finds common ground in the form of scripturalism and a return to the source text, although the context of the movements and the ideological orientations of the two differ.

Abstract

This article examines the history of Islamic thought and reform movements in Indonesia by tracing the development of Islam from its early arrival to the contemporary period. The study aims to identify the transformation of Islamic intellectual discourse and the dynamics of reform movements that emerged in response to social change, colonial pressures, modernization, and globalization. The research employs a historical approach based on literature review, archival documents, and the analysis of reformist scholars’ ideas. The findings indicate that Islam entered the Indonesian archipelago peacefully through trade routes around the 7th century and expanded significantly in the 13th century, leading to the establishment of Islamic kingdoms and the growth of religious scholarship. In the modern era, prominent reformers such as Hasyim Asy’ari, Ahmad Dahlan, and Abdurrahman Wahid introduced integrative concepts related to Islam, education, pluralism, and democracy. This study concludes that Islamic reform in Indonesia is a continuous and dynamic process that seeks to maintain the relevance of Islamic teachings in social and national life.

Abstract

Islamic civilization is the product of dynamic interaction between the dimensions of thought, politics, and culture throughout its history. This article aims to analyze the interrelation of these three pillars in shaping the character of Islamic civilization, from the classical to the contemporary era. Methodologically, this research uses a historical-analytical approach and is conducted through a literature study, tracing primary and secondary sources related to the development of theological-philosophical thought, the transformation of political configurations from the era of the Khulafa’ al-Rashidun to the modern nation-state, as well as cultural dynamics that reflect processes of acculturation. The findings indicate that the progress of Islamic civilization occurred when there was positive synergy: creative-rational thought, a political structure supportive of intellectual freedom, and a cosmopolitan culture. Conversely, intellectual stagnation and political authoritarianism were directly proportional to cultural decline. The article concludes that the revival of contemporary Islamic civilization requires an integrative reconstruction of these three dimensions, which can only be achieved through an interdisciplinary and contextual approach to formulate a synthesis relevant to the modern age

Abstract

Islamic civilization is the result of a dynamic interaction between thought, politics, and culture that has developed throughout history. This article aims to analyze how these three pillars are intertwined in shaping the character of Islamic civilization from classical to contemporary times. The study is conducted using a historical-analytical approach by tracing the development of theological and philosophical thought, political configurations from the Khulafa’ al-Rāsyidīn era to the era of the modern nation-state, and cultural dynamics that reflect the process of acculturation of Islam with local traditions. The research findings indicate that the progress of Islamic civilization occurs when thought is creative and rational, political structures support intellectual freedom, and culture develops cosmopolitanly. Conversely, stagnation of thought and political authoritarianism have a direct impact on cultural decline. This article emphasizes that the revival of Islamic civilization today demands an integrative reconstruction of these three dimensions through an interdisciplinary and contextual approach.
