The independent variables were marital happiness (X1) and social support (X2), while the dependent variable was self-acceptance (Y). Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method. The results showed a significant positive relationship between marital happiness and social support with self-acceptance. This indicates that higher levels of marital happiness and perceived social support contribute to greater self-acceptance among mothers raising children with disabilities

Abstract

Parents consist of a father and mother, but unfortunately the figure of a mother is often considered by society as someone who is responsible for educating or nurturing a child, this is because of the patriarchal culture in Indonesia that has been ingrained for a long time. In forming a family, the father is the main pillar in a family. Father is the leader of the family, it is the father who determines what the future of his family will be like. Father Hunger is caused by various factors including divorce, problems in parents, the death of fathers or fathers who work outside the area of residence. This research approach uses a descriptive quantitative method with data analysis using the help of SPSS Version 25 software. The purpose of this study is to obtain information as well as understanding through the influence of father hunger on students' learning motivation. So the research was conducted at SMK Negeri 5 Banjarmasin with a sample of 43 students. Abstract

Marriage readiness is a critical factor in ensuring long-term relationship satisfaction and resilience. In Indonesia, challenges such as rising cases of domestic violence and marital instability highlight the urgent need for more effective premarital counseling programs. However, existing interventions often lack cultural sensitivity, particularly in multicultural societies like Indonesia, which encompasses over 300 ethnic groups. This study examines the effectiveness of a culturally-informed premarital counseling program based on Banjar marital customs in enhancing marital readiness. A randomized controlled trial (RCT) was conducted with 32 engaged individuals divided into an experimental group receiving Banjar-based counseling and a control group participating in the government’s standard premarital counseling. The marriage readiness scale was used to measure psychological preparedness across domains such as communication, financial management, parenting, and lifestyle adjustments. Statistical analysis using the Mann-Whitney U test revealed significant improvements in the experimental group (U = 16.000, Z = -5.899, p < 0.001) compared to the control group. The findings underscore the importance of integrating local cultural values into premarital counseling to enhance mental readiness for marriage. By fostering deeper connections to cultural traditions, the intervention promoted mutual respect, emotional maturity, and role preparedness among participants. This study contributes to the growing discourse on culturally-informed psychosocial interventions and offers a scalable model for multicultural societies across Asia and beyond.

Abstract

The consumptive behavior experienced by female high school students leads them to purchase unnecessary, less necessary, or inappropriate items. This results in money wastage, the formation of reference groups, and the creation of false needs. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between consumptive behavior and the independent variables of self-esteem and self-image. The subjects of this study were 99 tenth-grade female students at SMA Negeri 12 Banjarmasin. The researchers used Pearson product-moment hypothesis testing and multiple correlation analysis with SPSS 21. The results of the Pearson product-moment significance test and the two-way significance multiple correlation analysis were 0.000, and the F change significance was 0.000, meaning sig. < 0.05, indicating a significant relationship between the variables. The Pearson correlation for variable X1 with Y and variable X2 with Y was 0.576 & 0.569, both indicating a fairly strong correlation. The multiple correlation between X1 & X2 with Y was 0.596, indicating a fairly strong correlation among the three variables. In conclusion, the higher/positive the self-esteem and self-image, the greater the consumptive behavior, or vice versa Keywords: Self-Esteem, Self-Image, Consumptive Behavior

Abstract

Verbal bullying remains a pervasive issue in Indonesian educational settings, significantly undermining adolescent self-esteem and mental health. This study examines the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) group counseling in improving self-esteem among victims of verbal bullying in senior high schools in Banjarmasin. Employing a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design, the research involved 139 Grade X students, with 8 identified as verbal bullying victims through purposive sampling. The intervention comprised three CBT counseling sessions incorporating cognitive restructuring and assertiveness training. Data were collected using a validated self-esteem questionnaire (Cronbach's α = 0.726) and analyzed through paired t-tests following normality and homogeneity checks. Results revealed a statistically significant increase in self-esteem scores from pretest to posttest (p = 0.003), with participants demonstrating improved self-perception, reduced social avoidance, and enhanced classroom participation. While findings support CBT's potential effectiveness in addressing bullying-related low self-esteem, the pre-experimental design and small sample size limit causal inferences. This study contributes evidence for integrating CBT-based group counseling into school anti-bullying programs in the Indonesian context, though randomised controlled trials are recommended to establish definitive efficacy. The intervention offers practical strategies for school counselors to support victims of verbal bullying, fostering safer and more inclusive educational environments. Abstract

Family harmony is key in ensuring family resilience from both social and psychological perspectives. It is a highly influential concept in shaping a child's character and facilitating the positive development of their personality. This research aims to determine the level of family harmony among working students. The research utilized a survey with a quantitative approach involving 85 working students. Data collection was done using the family harmony scale developed by Kavikondala et al. (2016), which identifies five dimensions of family harmony: communication, conflict resolution, patience, family identity, and quality time. This research indicates that working students have a moderate level of family harmony. This study serves as a basis for enhancing family harmony within the scope of Guidance and Counseling.
