Abstract

This research aims to develop a Desmos-assisted interactive online instructional media using “Kelas Kita” on Linier Program material. The instructional media being developed is Desmos-assisted “Kelas Kita”. The research was conducted at SMA 3 Muhammadiyah Jember on eleventh grade students of IPA 2. This research is a developmental research. This research applied Thiagarajan model which consists of 4 stages namely: 1) Defining stage 2) Designing stage 3) Developing stage 4) Disseminating stage. The development results of this research includes validity test of validation sheet analysis from 3 validation tools. The assessment results from the validation tools showed the very high category in details of an average value of 0.89. The practicality test based on the user response questionnaire showed the very practical category with an average value of 1.7 or at a percentage level of 85%. This media achieved the very effective category 28 from 34 students acquired scores more than or equivalent to the minimum criteria of mastery learning. The results of the effectiveness showed that the eleventh grade students of IPA 2 who completed the test were about 82.85% of the students. Based on the research result, it showed that the media used have met the validation, practicality, and effectiveness criteria. Therefore, it is assumed that this media is feasible to be used as an instructional media. Keywords: Kelaskita, Desmos, Learning Media

Abstract

Abstract This reseach was conducted to describe students mathematical literacy in solving mathematical questions on the subject of number patterns based on multiple intelligences. The instruments used were questionnaires, math tests, and interviews. The research subjects were six students consisting of two students with verbal linguistic intelligence, two students with mathematical logical intelligence and two students with naturalist intelligence. The results of this study are that students with verbal linguistic intelligence fulfill all indicators on the components of the literacy thinking process and can write answers in easily understood languages. Students with mathematical logical intelligence fulfill all indicators on the components of the literacy thinking process but there are stepping steps in writing answers. Whereas students with naturalist intelligence do not fulfill one of the indicators on the components of the first literacy process, namely students do not write mathematical situations using symbols. Students with verbal linguistic intelligence, students with mathematical logical intelligence and students with naturalist intelligence have different strategies in solving problems. Students with verbal linguistic intelligence tend to use detailed translation, students with mathematical logical intelligence are able to use mathematical operations well and students with naturalist intelligence tend to use images to solve problems. Abstract

The aim of this qualitative research is to describe the types of student errors in solving the two-variable linear equation system story problem based on Newman's error analysis in terms of Florence Littauer's personality type. The data sources consisted of 8 students of grade IX C SMP Nuris Jember who had been taught the material of two-variable linear equation systems. The data taken were the results of the questionnaire used to group students into four categories of personality types, the results of the student's story problem solving test results, and the results of the interviews of the students who were the research subjects. The results showed that in solving the two-variable linear equation system material story problems, students sanguinis experienced reading errors, comprehensior errors, transformation errors, process skill errors, and encoding error. Melancholy and phlegmatis students experience transformation error, process skill error, and encoding error. Koleris students experienced process skill error and encoding error. Abstract

This study aims to describe the visual thinking process of mental retardation students in understanding quadrilateral by using origami as the media. Visual thinking in this study is based on the visual-steps of thinking according to Balton (2011). Visual thinking can be used to help students with mental retardation in understanding geometry’s object which has abstract characteristic. Origami media is used as a learning media to improve the visualization ability of students with mental retardation. The type of this research is descriptive research with qualitative approach to give more emphasis on the visual thinking of the mental retardation students than the result of his work. This research was conducted on two mental retardation students of grade nine in SLB Negeri Jember. The instruments of this study are interview guidelines, questions, origami media and validation sheets. The results showed that mental retardation students with assisted origami media could understand rectangles and rectangles based on their properties, determine angles, determine diagonals on rectangles and define diagonal definitions. Abstract

Curriculum is one of the essential requirements in the administration of education system. In the academic year 2013/2014, Indonesian government through the Ministry of Education implement a new curriculum called 2013 curriculum. For the successful implementation of 2013 curriculum, the government published a student book as an effort of supporting in learning activities. Analysis on the student book is needed for reviewing the suitability of student book by 2013 curriculum formulation. The analysis is based on four criteria consisting of competence, materials of math, learning approaches and assessment of learning. Research carried out by using the method of documentation and questionnaires. The results showed that the suitability of the student book with competence in the curriculum is 86.97% (very suitable), the materials of math is 87.27% (very suitable), the learning approaches is 87.50% (very suitable), and the suitability with the assessment of learning is 69.10% (suitable). Based on the research that has been done, the lowest number of suitability is the aspect of authentic assessment. Therefore, adding more tasks and activities that reflecting the authentic assessment in the student book such as portfolio and practice test would be highly recommended
