Abstract

This research refutes previous research that not all parents in urban areas who are busy working do not play a role in the students' learning process. This research describes the role of parents in the student learning process and measures their influence on student learning outcomes in elementary schools. The research method used is mixed method. Qualitative data was obtained by conducting interviews with parents, teachers and students. Meanwhile, quantitative data was obtained through questionnaires and student learning outcomes in cognitive aspects. The sample in this research was 5th grade students at State Elementary School, totaling 45 students. The questionnaire in this research was tested using validity and reliability tests. Meanwhile, to test the influence of the role of parents on student learning outcomes using the T test. Based on the results of the t-test calculation, obtained tcount of 3.453 > ttable value of 1.681 with a significance level of 5% or 0.05. The significant level of the parental role variable is 0.001 < the significant level value of 0.05, which means that there is a significant influence between the role of parents on student learning outcomes. The coefficient of determination value is 0.217. However, this research found that there are other factors besides the role of parents. Referring to the coefficient of determination or R square, it is 0.217 or equal to 21.7%. This figure means that the role of parents has an influence of 21.7%, while 78.3% is influenced by other variables outside the variables studied.

Abstract

This study discusses the challenges of low early literacy skills in first-grade students at MI Assegaf Palembang, exacerbated by monotonous teaching methods and minimal use of engaging media. The aim of the research is to develop and evaluate picture and color-coded syllable flashcard media to improve students' reading and writing abilities. The study uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model, involving all first-grade students as a saturated sample. Data were collected through expert validation questionnaires, student response surveys, pretest-posttest instruments, and documentation. Quantitative and qualitative analyses were conducted to assess the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the media. The results show that the flashcard media is highly valid (average expert score of 98.1%), highly practical (student response of 96.8%), and significantly improves students' reading and writing abilities, as evidenced by posttest scores exceeding the minimum completeness criteria. In conclusion, the developed flashcard media is effective and recommended for early literacy learning.

Abstract

Abstract

This paper examines the important role of cultural diversity in organizational dynamics and how the application of organizational culture theory can be used to effectively manage diversity. Cultural diversity, which includes differences in values, norms, language, and social backgrounds, affects various aspects of the organization such as social interaction, communication, decision-making, and collective performance. In the context of modern organizations that are increasingly multicultural, the theory of organizational culture, especially that developed by Edgar H. Schein, provides a conceptual framework for understanding how artifacts, values adhered to, and basic assumptions shape an organization's collective identity and culture. The application of this theory allows organizations to identify inclusive core values, strengthen cultural socialization mechanisms, and manage conflicts and challenges arising from the cultural diversity of members. This strategy is essential for creating a harmonious, innovative, and adaptive work environment to external changes. With strategic and sustainable cultural management, organizations can increase productivity, competitiveness, and long-term sustainability in the face of a competitive global market. This paper asserts that managing cultural diversity is not only a normative need, but also an important strategy for organizational success. Keywords: cultural, adaptive, and organizational.

Data collection efforts were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Once the necessary data was obtained, the researcher conducted data analysis to derive research findings. This process involved data reduction, followed by data display, and finally, drawing conclusions based on all the data collected. The validity of the data was ensured through support from relevant sources, making this study a qualitative research. This research is based on Role Theory proposed by Aris Adi Laksono and Creativity Theory by Drevdal. Based on the research findings obtained through the data collection and analysis process following established procedures, the researcher found that the role of PAI teachers in shaping creative character through P5 activities is highly significant. As coordinators and facilitators, PAI teachers design and implement activities that cultivate students' character, particularly their creativity. In this character-building process, PAI teachers provide encouragement, motivation, and guidance to help students complete their project tasks effectively. Additionally, they instill a fundamental understanding that Islamic teachings serve as the foundation for actions. As a result, the students' creative ideas and works are expected to be beneficial for themselves and their surroundings.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the strategies used by Islamic Education teachers in managing differentiated learning and its impacts on students’ learning motivation at Az-Zahra Islamic Elementary School, Palembang. Using a qualitative case study design, the research involved six Islamic Religious Education (IRE) teachers and students from grades 1 to 6. Data were analyzed using Miles, Huberman, and Saldana’s interactive model, which consists of three cyclical stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. This model was selected because it enables continuous interaction between the researcher and the data, allowing emerging patterns to be refined throughout the analysis process. The findings revealed that IRE teachers implemented differentiated learning through four main strategies: differentiation of content, process, product, and learning environment, each aligned with diagnostic assessment results. Teachers adapted instructional materials to address students’ diverse needs, designed varied learning activities, and developed lesson plans, modules, worksheets, and assessments that accommodated individual differences. The learning environment was also extended beyond the classroom through outdoor and experiential activities that reduced fatigue and enhanced engagement. Collectively, these practices fostered an inclusive and student-centered atmosphere that enhanced intrinsic motivation, active participation, perseverance, and self-confidence. Furthermore, the results indicated a significant overall improvement in students’ learning motivation, as reflected in their enthusiasm during class activities, willingness to ask questions, and independent efforts to understand the material beyond classroom sessions.
