Abstract

The School Literacy Movement (GLS) in elementary schools is a strategic program aimed at fostering a literacy culture and increasing students’ interest and engagement in reading and writing activities at the elementary school level. However, in practice, students’ level of enthusiasm in participating in the GLS program still varies and has not been fully optimal. This study aims to analyze the level of enthusiasm of elementary school students in participating in the School Literacy Movement (GLS). This research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive survey design. The research subjects were 30 fourth-grade students of SDN 7 Sukamentri. Data were collected using a closed-ended questionnaire with a Likert scale developed based on indicators of enthusiasm, including response, attention, concentration, willingness, and awareness to be involved. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics through percentage techniques and categorization. The results showed that 53% of students were in the high enthusiasm category, 43% in the moderate category, and 4% in the low category. These findings indicate that, in general, students have demonstrated a high level of enthusiasm in participating in the GLS program, particularly in the 15-minute reading activity before lessons. Nevertheless, some students still showed moderate and low levels of enthusiasm, indicating the need for improved consistency in program implementation, greater variation in literacy activities, and more optimal teacher guidance. Thus, the GLS program has been proven to play a positive role in developing a literacy culture in elementary schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan sikap ilmiah siswa melalui penerapan metode outing class dalam pendekatan saintifik pada pembelajaran IPA kelas V SDN 04 Sukamanah. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian tindakan kelas model Kemmis dan Taggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri atas dua pertemuan, dengan subjek 30 siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket sikap ilmiah dan lembar observasi pelaksanaan tindakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan tindakan meningkat dari 83,33% pada siklus I menjadi 96,67% pada siklus II. Persentase siswa yang mencapai kategori sikap ilmiah tinggi juga meningkat dari 80,00% pada siklus I menjadi 95,00% pada siklus II. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa metode outing class dalam pendekatan saintifik efektif meningkatkan sikap ilmiah siswa dan dapat menjadi alternatif pembelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

The school environment plays a strategic role in supporting the learning process and fostering students’ creativity, particularly at the elementary education level. In response to the demands of 21st-century education, creativity has become a key competency that must be developed through a supportive learning environment, encompassing both physical and non-physical aspects. However, empirical evidence indicates that many schools have not yet optimally utilized the school environment as a learning resource. This study aims to examine the role of the school environment in enhancing students’ creativity at SDN Regol 7 Kiansantang. A qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design was employed. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation, and data credibility was ensured through triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that a well-maintained and effectively utilized school environment contributes to increased student engagement, learning motivation, and creativity. The integration of indoor and outdoor learning spaces, including classrooms, libraries, greenhouses, and schoolyards, provides authentic and meaningful learning experiences. Nevertheless, the implementation of environment-based learning requires careful instructional planning and effective classroom management to maintain focused and structured learning activities. Overall, the study concludes that a conducive school environment has a positive impact on the development of students’ creativity.

Abstract

Learning interest is one of the psychological factors that plays an important role in the success of learning at the elementary school level. However, the reality in the field shows that students' interest in the subject of Mathematics tends to be low. This study aims to describe the forms of learning interest of fifth-grade students in the subject of Mathematics, identify the factors that influence it, and analyze the role of teachers in increasing that interest. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and questionnaires involving 30 students and 1 teacher at SDN 2 Karangmulya. The results of the study indicate that most students show low learning interest, characterized by a lack of enthusiasm, participation, and concentration in the subject of Mathematics. The factors causing students' low learning interest include a lack of variation in the teacher's teaching models or methods, the lack of use of engaging learning media, as well as students' perception that Mathematics is difficult and boring. On the other hand, the use of visual media such as videos and images has been proven to be able to increase students' interest. This study concludes that improving students' interest in learning Mathematics requires a more interactive teaching approach, the use of varied learning media, as well as attention to students' psychological conditions and learning environment. These findings are expected to serve as a basis for developing more effective and contextual learning strategies at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study is motivated by students who still have difficulty in understanding reading in depth. This is indicated by the low results of students' reading evaluation, both in the aspects of answering questions, finding the main idea, and concluding the content of the text. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between GLS and reading comprehension skills. This research method is a correlational approach. With the sample choosing total sampling of 39 students, with data collection techniques in the form of tests and questionnaires. The data processing and analysis techniques used statistical prerequisite tests, and hypothesis testing (correlation). As for the results of descriptive statistical analysis, the research results of the school literacy movement have an average of 74.40 and a percentage of 74.4% and the average reading comprehension ability of students has an average of 56.41 and a percentage of 56.4% with a very good category. Based on the results of statistical analysis, there is a positive and significant relationship between the school literacy movement assisted by the canva application and the reading comprehension skills of grade V students of SDN 2 Sukarame, Bayongbong District. The direction of the positive relationship is indicated by the value of the correlation coefficient of 0.511 is positive. There is a significant relationship indicated by the correlation coefficient of r count 0.511 and r table 0.172 (r count> r table). This means that every time there is an increase in the quality of the school literacy movement assisted by the canva application, it will be followed by an increase in the quality of the school literacy movement assisted by the canva application.Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh siswa yang masih mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami bacaan secara mendalam. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan rendahnya hasil evaluasi membaca siswa, baik dalam aspek menjawab pertanyaan, menemukan gagasan utama, maupun menyimpulkan isi teks. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan GLS dengan kemampuan membaca pemahaman. Metode penelitian ini berupa pendekatan korelasional. Dengan sampel memilih total sampling yaitu sebanyak 39 siswa, dengan Teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes dan angket. Adapun teknik pengolahan dan analisis data menggunakan uji prasyarat statistic, dan uji hipotesis (korelasional). Adapun hasil analisis statistik deskriptif diperoleh hasil penelitian gerakan literasi sekolah memiliki rata-rata 74,40 dan presentase 74,4% dan rata-rata kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa memiliki rata-rata 56,41 dan presentase 56,4% dengan kategori sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil analisis satistik, terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara gerakan literasi sekolah berbantu aplikasi canva dengan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V SDN 2 Sukarame Kecamatan Bayongbong. Arah hubungan positif ditunjukan dengan nilai dari koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,511 adalah positif. Ada hubungan yang signifikan ditunjukan dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar r hitung 0,511 dan r tabel 0,172 (r hitung > r tabel). Ini artinya setiap kali adanya kenaikan pada kualitas gerakan literasi sekolah berbantu aplikasi canva maka akan diikuti dengan kenaikan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa. Oleh karena itu, hendaknya semua pihak bekerja sama memfasilitasi dan mendukung upaya peningkatan gerakan literasi sekolah ini dalam hal penyediaan sumber daya yang memadai seperti memperbaiki infrastruktur sekolah dan menyediakan lebih banyak buku serta materi bacaan yang bervariasi.

Abstract

Pantun merupakan salah satu pembelajaran sastra yang mengandung nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui nilai-nilai karakter yang terdapat dalam tiga puluh lima pantun nasihat dan kesesuaian nilai-nilai karakter dalam pantun nasihat pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Obyek penelitian yang dianalisis adalah tiga puluh lima pantun nasihat dan objek dalam penelitian adalah nilai-nilai karakter dalam 35 pantun nasihat. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah dokumentasi, kartu data, dan wawancara. Adapun hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari tiga puluh lima pantun nasihat yang djadikan objek penelitian mengandung tujuh belas nilai-nilai karakter, yaitu nilai-nilai religius, jujur, disiplin, kerja keras, mandiri, demokratis, rasa ingin tahu, semangat kebangsaan, cinta tanah air, menghargai prestasi, bersahabat/ komunikatif, cinta damai, gemar membaca, peduli lingkungan, peduli sosial, dan tanggung jawab. Nilai-nilai karakter dalam pantun nasihat tersebut sesuai dengan pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Sekolah Dasar yaitu mewarisi nilai luhur dan mengkreasikan puisi rakyat kurikulum 2013. Oleh karena itu, nilai-nilai karakter dalam pantun nasihat dapat dijadikan pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Sekolah Dasar.

Abstract

Reading comprehension is a  fundamental skill essential for student success in various subjects. However, many students still experience difficulty understanding the content of reading material. This study aims to analyze fifth-grade elementary  school students’ reading comprehension skills through short story  appreciation. This study employed  a quqlitative method with a case study design. The subjects were 15  fifth-grade students. Data collection used a descriptive test that  measured four indicators:  the ability to answer questions about the short story’s  content, identify  difficult words and there meanings, identify  the meaning idea/main idea of each paragraph, and retell the shorts story in their own words.  Data analiysis  was conducted using the triangulation technique according to Miles and Huberman,  encompassing data reduction, data  presentation, and conclusions drawing. The overall analysis showed an average score was 65,6 for students,   concluding that students’ reading comprehension skills  through short story appreciation are in the sufficient category.Membaca pemahaman merupakan keterampilan dasar yang penting untuk menunjang keberhasilan belajar siswa di berbagai mata pelajaran. Namun demikian, masih banyak siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami isi bacaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa dengan mengapresiasi cerpen pada siswa kelas V sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V yang berjumlah 15 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes uraian yang merujuk pada empat indikator, yaitu kemampuan menjawab pertanyaan isi cerpen, menemukan kata sulit dan artinya, menemukan ide pokok/gagasan pokok setiap paragraf, dan menceritakan kembali isi cerpen menggunakan bahasa sendiri. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan teknik triangulasi menurut Miles and Huberman, meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil analisis secara keseluruhan rata-rata siswa memperoleh skor 65,6, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa dengan mengapresiasi cerpen berada pada kategori cukup.

Abstract

Conceptual understanding is a person's ability to understand what is taught, capture the meaning of what is learned, and utilize the contents of the material being studied, as well as solve problems related to the material being studied. This study aims to determine the effect of using picture and puzzle media on conceptual understanding in social studies lessons in elementary schools. This research method is Quasi Experimental Design, this research instrument uses a test to measure conceptual understanding. The sample in this study was 20 students of class VA as the control class and 20 students of class VC as the experimental class. Data analysis techniques used the Normality Test, Homogeneity Test and t-Test. The results of the study showed that the application of picture media and puzzle games on students' conceptual understanding in social studies learning was better and showed a significant effect than those who did not use learning media. This is evidenced by the results of the hypothesis test, namely to 2.03> 1.90 for conceptual understanding. There is a difference between the control class and experimental class, the test results of the experimental class are greater than the control class. So it can be said that picture media and puzzle games can be used as an alternative in the learning process in the classroom.
