Abstract

The study discusses the indicator of customer loyalty of Islamic banks according to Griffin's perspective and several relevant studies. The problems solved in this study are 1) what is the indicator of customer loyalty of Islamic banks according to Griffin? 2) what is the indicator of customer loyalty of Islamic banks according to some relevant studies? and 3) how is the comparison of Islamic bank customer loyalty indicators according to Griffin and other relevant studies? Based on the theoretical assumption, a customer is considered loyal if he/she makes regular purchase in a certain time interval. This study utilizes descriptive qualitative research with a library research approach. Deduction and comparative are done in analysis technique. Griffin’s theory focuses on behavioral and attitudinal approach. Meanwhile, other relevant research studies emphasize more on physical things, the availability of banking facilities and infrastructure. They also classified the loyalty into affective, conative, and action loyalty. There is a difference in Griffin’s theory and other studies, that customer loyalty is influenced by maqâsid al-sharî'ah. It means that the customer loyalty is determined by satisfactory level referring to sharia values.

Abstract

This study aimed to prove that the mediation of the performance of sharia maqashid affects sharia compliance with financial performance. The method used was a regression analysis based on Structural Equation Modeling with panel data available in the annual reports published by Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia for the period 2014-2019. The results of the study proved that sharia compliance has a direct and significant negative influence on financial performance. However, sharia compliance does not have a significant effect on maqashid sharia performance. Furthermore, maqashid sharia performance has a negative and significant effect on financial performance, but does not mediate the influence of sharia compliance on financial performance at Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia. This research recommends that policymakers confirm regulations regarding the implementation and disclosure of sharia compliance and maqashid sharia performance indicators in the annual reports of Islamic Conventional Banks (ICBs). In addition, it is necessary to design an integrated Islamic banking performance measurement model that includes conventional financial performance indicators with maqashid sharia performance indicators. In practical implementation, ICBs should increase the implementation of sharia compliance and maqashid sharia performance indicators.

Abstract

This study evaluates the relationship between organizational culture, business strategy, and organizational performance in companies in Jakarta, Indonesia, as the largest tourism industrial area in ASEAN. The study highlights that organizational culture that includes discipline, innovation, and a clear division of authority, as well as a business strategy that focuses on vision, mission, tactics, and marketing, has a significant influence on organizational performance, as measured through growth, customer satisfaction, and marketing effectiveness. Of the 384 respondents, the results showed that organizational culture and business strategy significantly influenced organizational performance, both individually and collectively. In addition, this study also analyzes the role of artificial intelligence (AI) and product quality on the performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Using SPSS for analysis, the results show that AI has an influence of 85%, product quality by 75%, and the combination of the two contributes 80% to the performance of MSMEs, with the remaining 20% influenced by other factors not analyzed in this study. These findings underscore that higher AI adoption and improved product quality significantly improve the performance of MSMEs, providing a positive projection for the growth of small businesses in the community. This research makes an important contribution to understanding how organizational culture, business strategy, and technology and product quality can be the main driving factors in improving the performance of organizations and MSMEs, especially in the tourism and small business sectors in Indonesia.

Abstract

Globalization has an impact on the development of international trade, which can increase market share. In addition, in foreign exchange trading, currency is not just a transaction tool but also a commodity traded in the foreign exchange market. The study aims to analyze arbitrage and interest rate parity on its implications for foreign exchange investors and speculators. Secondary data used in the study were obtained from books, national and international edited journals, news, and working papers conducted by a literature review. It is found that unstable economic conditions, increased inflation, and speculators can increase the volatility of exchange rate imbalances in the foreign exchange market. exchange rate differences can be utilized by arbitrageurs and will naturally move towards efficiency. However, the enactment of purchasing power parity implies indifferent behavior to invest domestically or internationally because the returns obtained are not greater than domestic. In addition to maintaining foreign exchange stability, intervention policies are needed through controlled floating exchange rates, interest rate policies, maintaining liquidity and capital flows carried out by monetary authorities and central banks, as well as reducing import dependence and increasing exports
