Abstract

This study focuses on analyzing the role of Brand Ambassadors and Product Quality in influencing Purchase Intention for L'Oréal Paris products, with Brand Image as an intermediary variable among Formula 1 fans in Indonesia. The research uses an explanatory quantitative approach through a survey, with purposive selection of respondents and data collection using an online questionnaire. The data obtained was then analyzed using the PLS-SEM method through the SmartPLS version 4.0.9.9 application. The analysis results show that Brand Ambassador and Product Quality play a significant role in shaping Brand Image and increasing Purchase Intention. Brand Image is also proven to have a direct influence on Purchase Intention and functions as a partial mediator in the relationship between Brand Ambassador and Product Quality on purchase intention. The coefficient of determination value shows that more than 58% of the variation in Purchase Intention can be explained by the research model, with Product Quality as the variable that contributes the most. These findings indicate that the right brand ambassador selection strategy, accompanied by good product quality, can strengthen brand image and encourage increased consumer purchase intention. This study contributes by presenting a new perspective on the effectiveness of cross-industry marketing strategies, namely the use of motorsport athletes as brand ambassadors in the beauty industry, and explains the role of brand image as an important mechanism in increasing purchasing interest among Formula 1 fans in Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki maksud untuk menganalisa pengaruh Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), Brent Crude Oil, dan harga emas dunia terhadap Indeks Harga Saham Gabungan (IHSG) pada Bursa Efek Indonesia selama periode 2020–2024. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh meningkatnya integrasi pasar keuangan global yang menyebabkan pergerakan pasar modal domestik semakin dipengaruhi oleh dinamika ekonomi internasional, khususnya indeks saham negara maju dan fluktuasi harga komoditas strategis. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain asosiatif. Data yang dianalisis adalah jenis data sekunder yang menggunakan runtut waktu (time series) bulanan periode lima tahun. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah regresi linear berganda, yang diawali dengan pengujian asumsi klasik untuk memastikan kelayakan model, serta pengujian hipotesis melalui uji F, uji t, dan koefisien determinasi (R²). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara simultan DJIA, harga Brent Crude Oil, dan harga emas dunia berpengaruh signifikan terhadap IHSG. Secara parsial, DJIA dan harga Brent Crude Oil memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap IHSG, yang menunjukkan adanya transmisi sentimen dan dampak perubahan harga energi global terhadap pasar modal Indonesia. Harga emas dunia tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap IHSG, meskipun emas memiliki fungsi saat situasi ketidakpastian ekonomi sebagai aset lindung nilai. Temuan ini memperkuat teori pasar efisien bahwa harga saham mencerminkan informasi global yang tersedia.

Abstract

The capital market plays a crucial role in a country's economy, with the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) being the primary indicator for assessing stock market performance in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the influence of the S&P 500, global gold prices, and the Fed Rate on the JCI for the 2020–2024 period. A quantitative associative approach was used with multiple linear regression analysis techniques on 60 monthly data sets, including the S&P 500, global gold prices, and the Fed Rate as independent variables, and the JCI as the dependent variable. The results indicate that all three variables have a significant simultaneous effect, and partially prove that the S&P 500, global gold prices, and the Fed Rate each have a significant effect on the JCI movement. These findings confirm the strong integration of the domestic capital market with global dynamics and international monetary policy.
