Abstract

Price differences of mustard greens between the farm level and the final consumer indicate problems in price transmission and marketing efficiency. This study aims to analyze the elasticity of price transmission and the level of marketing efficiency of mustard greens in Grinting Village. The research was conducted using a survey method involving farmers and marketing institutions, with data analysis covering the identification of marketing channels, marketing margins, farmer’s share, price transmission elasticity, and the Marketing Efficiency Index (MEI). The results show that there are four marketing channels for mustard greens with different characteristics and levels of efficiency. The price transmission elasticity indicates that price changes at the consumer level are not fully transmitted to the farm level. Longer marketing channels tend to generate higher marketing margins and lower farmer’s share. In contrast, the shortest marketing channel, in which farmers sell directly to consumers, is the most efficient channel as it provides a higher price proportion to farmers. These findings highlight the importance of developing shorter marketing channels to improve the welfare of mustard green farmers.

Abstract

The imbalance in workload highlights that women farmers bear dual responsibilities, which limits the time they can allocate to rice farming activities, thereby affecting farm productivity. This study aims to analyze and describe the allocation of working hours between female and male farmers, the contribution of female farmers to productive and domestic activities, and the factors influencing women's labor time allocation in rice farming. The data were analyzed using descriptive methods and multiple linear regression based on the Cobb-Douglas model. The results show that the labor time contribution of women in rice farming amounts to 14 person-days per season, which is lower than that of men, who contribute 17.3 person-days per season. The proportion of women's labor time dedicated to productive activities is 16.1%, while 83.9% is allocated to domestic tasks. The variables that significantly and positively influence women's labor time in rice farming include household size, women’s wage rates, and land area. Age also significantly affects labor time allocation but has a negative relationship, indicating that older women tend to contribute fewer working hours.

Abstract

The complexity of urban livestock poultry issues, such as higher demand for eggs than supply, rising feed prices, densely populated locations with limited land, several members leaving the community, and the suboptimal use of technology, can have an impact on the sustainability of poultry. This study aims to evaluate the sustainability status of Gallus gallus domesticus poultry at the JKF Community based on ecological, economic, social, technological, and institutional dimensions. The analytical method used is Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS) through the Rapid Appraisal of the Status of Poultry (Rap-Poultry) approach. The analysis results show that the ecological dimension has a sustainability score of 72.28, the economic dimension 51.78, the social dimension 69.60, the technological dimension 51.03, and the institutional dimension 78.21. The overall sustainability score of Gallus gallus domesticus poultry is 64.97. The sustainability status of Gallus gallus domesticus poultry in the JKF Community is categorized as moderately sustainable, with the ecological, economic, social, and technological dimensions also considered moderately sustainable. In contrast, the institutional dimension is classified as highly sustainable.

Abstract

Coffee is one of the strategic agricultural commodities that plays a vital role in the Indonesian economy, serving as a source of foreign exchange, a provider of employment, and a source of income for farmers. Pasuruan Regency is one of the major centers for Robusta coffee production in East Java Province and holds significant potential for further development. However, improving the competitiveness of Robusta coffee depends not only on product quality but also on the efficiency of domestic resource use in the production process. This study aims to analyze the efficiency of domestic resource use in Robusta coffee farming in Pasuruan Regency using the Domestic Resource Cost (DRC) approach. The study was conducted in Puspo and Tutur subdistricts, Pasuruan Regency, using purposive sampling. The data used included primary data obtained through interviews and questionnaires administered to Robusta coffee farmers, as well as secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency, the Directorate General of Plantations, and relevant literature. Data analysis utilized the Policy Analysis Matrix (PAM) method, focusing on the Domestic Resource Cost (DRC) indicator. The study results indicate that the DRC value for robusta coffee farming in Pasuruan Regency is 0.050. This value indicates that robusta coffee farming possesses a comparative advantage because the DRC value is < 1, meaning the use of domestic resources is economically efficient. Thus, Robusta coffee in Pasuruan Regency has the potential to be further developed as a leading regional commodity capable of competing in both domestic and international markets.

Abstract

Changes in urban lifestyles characterized by high mobility and limited time have led to an increase in demand for practical and easily accessible fast food. One popular product is the microwave burger sold at Lawson. The increase in consumption of processed fast food not only affects consumer behavior but is also closely related to the principles of responsible consumption and production as outlined in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 12. This study aims to evaluate customer satisfaction with purchasing microwave burgers at Lawson Surabaya in terms of price, product, ease of obtaining, packaging, packaging design, service and analyze its contribution to the implementation of SDGs 12. A descriptive quantitative approach was used for this study, with 97 respondents selected through sampling using accidental sampling techniques with the characteristics of respondents who have consumed burgers and are above 17 years old. Data analysis was carried out using the Customer satisfaction Index (CSI) after conducting validity and reliability tests. The results showed a CSI value of 83.984%, which is included in the "very satisfied" category. The elements that most influence customer satisfaction are appropriate portion size, product quality, accessibility, and service. These findings suggest that Lawson's microwaveable burgers meet urban consumer expectations and have the potential to reduce food waste and create more efficient consumption patterns
