Abstract

The Rahayu IV Farmer Group aims to capitalize on this potential by developing Kopi Gunung Kelir Agrotourism. However, visitor activity has been low, likely due to the site's limited visibility, its newness, and its remote location. This lack of awareness and accessibility affects its growth as a tourist destination. This study aims to determine the current conditions and determine the strategy plan for the development of Kopi Gunung Kelir Agrotourism through Business Model Canvas and SWOT analysis. The BMC assessed nine key business components and aims to facilitate the preparation of strategic plans through each component or block in the business model, while SWOT analysis identified internal strengths and weaknesses, and external opportunities and threats. Key strengths included educational tourism offerings, high-quality Robusta coffee production, and scenic landscapes. Weaknesses were limited infrastructure, promotion, and accessibility. Opportunities arose from the growing eco-tourism and coffee culture, while threats included competition from other agrotourism sites and fluctuating visitor interest. The study proposed strategies like expanding road access, optimizing digital marketing through platforms like TikTok, improving visitor facilities, and fostering partnerships with sponsors and local stakeholders.

Abstract

East Java Province is one of the largest chrysanthemum flower production centers in Indonesia, with productivity increasing significantly in the 2019-2023 period, supported by ideal climate conditions and soil fertility. The objectives of this study are to: (1) analyze the profitability of chrysanthemum farming with a greenhouse system, (2) analyze the risks of production, prices, and income of chrysanthemum farming with a greenhouse system in Tutur District, Pasuruan Regency, (3) Determine the efforts made by farmers to overcome risks. The sample of this study were chrysanthemum farmers who planted using greenhouses in Tutur District, Pasuruan. The number of respondent farmers in this study was 53 farmers. Data analysis used a descriptive analysis approach and risk analysis (coefficient of variation). From the results of this study, information was obtained that the feasibility level of chrysanthemum farming had an R/C ratio of 1.15 with a total income of Rp238,240,475/Ha/planting season. The results of the risk analysis showed CV values of 0.20 for production; 0.09 for price; and 0.23 for income, respectively. This indicates higher fluctuations in production and income compared to price fluctuations. This higher income risk is due to post-harvest damage and dependence on local markets or middlemen. However, each risk has a CV <0.5, indicating that this farming business is generally profitable.

Abstract

Abstract

General Background The snack food industry faces increasing competition, requiring firms to adopt strategic approaches to maintain competitiveness and sales performance. Specific Background A cassava cracker enterprise experienced a decline in sales volume, indicating challenges in sustaining its market position despite stable raw material supply and product availability. Knowledge Gap Previous studies primarily examine direct relationships between product innovation, product quality, and competitive advantage, with limited attention to digital marketing as a mediating mechanism, particularly in local cassava-based agroindustry contexts. Aims This study analyzes the direct and indirect relationships of product innovation and product quality on competitive advantage through digital marketing as a mediating variable. Results Using a quantitative descriptive method with 96 respondents and SEM-PLS analysis, the findings reveal that product innovation and product quality significantly and positively affect competitive advantage, both directly and indirectly through digital marketing, with digital marketing functioning as a partial mediator. Novelty The study introduces digital marketing as an intervening variable linking innovation and quality to competitive advantage within a localized cassava cracker enterprise context. Implications Strengthening product innovation and maintaining consistent product quality, supported by optimized digital marketing strategies, are essential to expand market reach and reinforce competitive positioning in the snack food industry. Highlights: Innovation and quality significantly strengthen firm competitiveness directly and indirectly. Digital channels function as a partial mediator linking internal capabilities to market positioning. Optimization of online promotion remains limited despite positive statistical relationships. Keywords: Digital Marketing, Product Innovation, Product Quality, Competitive Advantage, Cassava Crackers.

Abstract

Price differences of mustard greens between the farm level and the final consumer indicate problems in price transmission and marketing efficiency. This study aims to analyze the elasticity of price transmission and the level of marketing efficiency of mustard greens in Grinting Village. The research was conducted using a survey method involving farmers and marketing institutions, with data analysis covering the identification of marketing channels, marketing margins, farmer’s share, price transmission elasticity, and the Marketing Efficiency Index (MEI). The results show that there are four marketing channels for mustard greens with different characteristics and levels of efficiency. The price transmission elasticity indicates that price changes at the consumer level are not fully transmitted to the farm level. Longer marketing channels tend to generate higher marketing margins and lower farmer’s share. In contrast, the shortest marketing channel, in which farmers sell directly to consumers, is the most efficient channel as it provides a higher price proportion to farmers. These findings highlight the importance of developing shorter marketing channels to improve the welfare of mustard green farmers.

Abstract

Study on the distribution pattern and age structure ofNeochetina spp. (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) at the release site was conducted to know a) the distribution pattern of the weevil, b) its establishment status, c) its survival rate in the field, and d) relationship between the attack of the weevil and the fungus, Altemaria eichhorniae Nag Rag & Ponappa (Hyphomycetes), in causing damage to water hyacinth. This study was conducted at Situ Bagendit lake, Garut, West Java. A release and recapture method was employed to study the mode and rate of dispersal of the weevils under field conditions. Regular sample collection at two-month interval was done to evaluate the pattern of distribution and to assess the age structure under field condition. Another two months regular observation was done to assess damage severity due to adult weevils and the fungus, A. eichhorniae, on water hyacinth. Results showed, that the weevils seem to disperse actively to all directions following the presence of water hyacinth. The data also showed that the dispersal rate of the weevils was about a few meters a week. Under field conditions at Situ Bagendit lake, the weevils were about evenly distributed throughout water hyacinth mass. The density of the weevils fluctuated from time to time, but the trend slightly increased. The survival rate of the weevils at Situ Bagendit lake was estimated not more than 5%. It was suspected that various limiting factors such as various predators have caused the low population increase under field conditions. The population increase through time confirmed that the weevils have established at Situ Bagendit lake. Field data showed that there were no interaction between the damage severity of the weed caused by both weevils and the fungus.
