Abstract

The penetration of internet use in the world and in Indonesia has increased quite significantly in the last five years. This growth has been supported by a number of factors forming positive attitudes (the attitude toward using digital banks) and driving the intentions to adopt digital banking services (the intention to use digital banks), such as perceived risk, brand reputation, and subjective norms. Samples were purposively selected in the age range of 25-76 and the responses to the self-administered questionnaire were processed using SEM-PLS. The results of the research demonstrate that only subjective norms are able to substantially alter the attitude toward and the intentions toward using digital banks. Attitude toward using a digital bank is a key process that partially explains the influence of brand reputation and subjective norms on the intention to use a digital bank.

Abstract

Despite the increasing number of zakat amil institutions in Indonesia in the past few years, many lack market segmentation-oriented efforts in serving the donor members. Marketing tactics and programs are often designed general, believing that every member would respond the same to ‘one for all’ programs. This research aimed to conduct market segmentation for qurban donors with the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) as the underpinning theory. A survey of 464 members of Baitul Maal Hidayatullah National Zakat Amil Institute (BMH) Surabaya was performed. Employing cluster analysis statistical technique, this study identified four distinct qurban donor segments, namely: 1) Aqliyah segment with 2%; 2) Ihsaniyah segment with 28%; 3) Insaniyah segment with 54% and 4) Ubudiyah segment with 16%. This result shows that religious is not the only motive of offering sacrifice. In fact, insaniyah which refers to solidarity is the most prevalent motive.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to examine the impact of Transformational Leadership and School Climate on Teacher Performance. The survey was conducted on teachers from five Christian high schools located in Surabaya and Sidoarjo. The sample was selected by convenience where as many as 103 teachers were willing to participate in the survey conducted. Using the SEM-PLS statistical technique to process the collected primary data, the results showed that transformational leadership had a direct, positive and significant effect on school climate but had no significant effect on teacher performance. Furthermore, school climate has a direct, positive and significant effect on teacher performance. What's interesting is that transformational leadership has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance when mediated by school climate. Thus, school climate is a perfect mediating variable in which transformational leadership applied by school leaders will have a significant effect on teacher performance only when the school climate is also considered positive.
