Abstract

Pertanyaan yang diajukan mahasiswa sangat menentukan kualitas penyelesaian masalah matematika. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi pertanyaan yang diajukan oleh mahasiswa pendidikan matematika dalam menginvestigasi masalah matematika. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan desain fenomenologis. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa pendidikan matematika semester tiga di Semarang yang berjumlah 38 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi tes matematika dan observasi. Hasil tes berupa jawaban mahasiswa dan pertanyaan-pertanyaan tertulis yang diajukan sebelum menyelesaikan tes. Proses analisis data pada penelitian ini meliputi memvalidasi data, mengorganisasikan data, mengelompokkan data dan memberi kode berdasarkan kesamaan data, dan mendafsirkan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan setidaknya ada delapan tipe pertanyaan yang diajukan. Mayoritas mahasiswa menanyakan tentang cara atau prosedur penyelesaian masalah matematika. Selain itu, mayoritas mahasiswa menggunakan strategi menebak dan memeriksa untuk menyelesaikan masalah matematika. Karena itu, mengajukan pertanyaan sebelum menyelesaikan masalah perlu dilakukan untuk mengeksplorasi masalah.

Kepercayaan diri merupakan keyakinan akan kemampuan diri seseorang untuk menyelesaikan suatu masalah dengan baik. Dengan adanya rasa percaya diri, siswa dapat mengkomunikasikan gagasan mereka untuk memperjelas ide dalam penyelesaian masalah yang mereka ungkapkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan komunikasi matematis ditinjau dari kepercayaan diri siswa SMA pada pembelajaran tatap muka terbatas.Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kualitatif studi kasus. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMAN 1 Kasiman kelas XI MIPA 3. Subjek penelitian ditentukan dari pengkategorian kepercayaan diri siswa dari hasil angket yang dikelompokkan menjadi 3, yaitu tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah instrument tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Instrument pedoman wawancara digunakan untuk memperoleh data mengenai kemampuan komunikasi matematis agar data lebih jelas.Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: (1) Siswa dengan kepercayaan diri tinggi, mampu memenuhi  semua indikator komunikasi matematis yang terdiri dari tujuh indikator; (2) Siswa dengan kepercayaan diri sedang, belum mampu menggunakan simbol-simbol matematika dengan tepat, belum mampu menjelaskan hasil pekerjaan secara logis; (3) Siswa dengan kepercayaan diri rendah belum mampu menggunakan simbol-simbol matematika dengan tepat, belum mampu memahami istilah-istilah dalam bahasa matematika, belum mampu menggambarkan situasi masalah dan menyatakan solusi masalah dalam bentuk tulisan dan atau gambar dengan baik dan bernar, belum mampu menjelaskan hasil pekerjaan secara logis.Kata kunci: Kemampuan Komunikasi, Komunikasi Matematis, Kepercayaan Diri

Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to describe and give an overview of ARCS learning model loaded with safety education in the new normal era. Using the writing method of literature review the author collects information related to learning in the new normal era, ARCS learning model and safety education from sharing sources ranging from books, journal articles and news media. ARCS is an instructional design learning model developed by Keller that focuses on motivation. Become a learning model to increase students' learning motivation. The ARCS model is very appropriate in the new normal era in the form of student protection through an educational perspective. It is hoped that with this reference educators can more optimally create a new normal era teaching plan that must apply health protocols strictly by paying attention to the psychological needs of students. This motivational model has four aspects that represent various motivational characteristics that exist in each individual, consisting of: attention, relevance, confidence and satisfaction. The safety educatin charge was initiated to provide provisions to students for the importance of protecting themselves and the environment from the current pandemic situation. Learning arcs model loaded with safety education can be carried out in various educational units while maintaining safety and health. So that learning activities take place optimally.

Abstract

Understanding mathematical concepts is an important key in learning mathematics. However, students often have difficulty understanding mathematical concepts, especially social arithmetic material. Based on this, this research aims to develop information technology-based interactive learning media that can help improve understanding of mathematics concepts for class VII middle school students in social arithmetic material. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Kalinyamatan involving 34 class VII junior high school students. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE Model design. The results of data analysis show that interactive learning media is proven to be valid because it has a significant level of 0.00 < 0.05, feasible because all variables (statements) have a calculated r value > r table and is effective because it meets the individual due diligence and classical due diligence, so it can It is said that the development of interactive learning media based on information technology which was developed is effective in increasing understanding of mathematics concepts for class VII middle school students in social arithmetic material. The evaluation results show that students' understanding of mathematical concepts has increased significantly after using interactive learning media.

Abstract

This research was conducted to develop a textbook based on ethnomathematics at the Great Mosque of Central Java that is valid, practical and effective in improving students' ability to think creatively on quadrilateral material. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) model. The subjects of this research were 24 students in class VII A at one of the Semarang City Middle Schools. Data collection methods were obtained from media expert and material expert validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, as well as pre-test questions and post-test questions. The product produced is a Textbook Based on Ethnomathematics at the Great Mosque of Central Java which was declared valid based on the validation results of material experts and media experts, the product was declared practical based on the results of teacher and student response questionnaires, and the product was declared effective in improving students' ability to think creatively based on the results of the pre-test scores. and student post test scores. It is hoped that this research will attract the interest of future researchers to develop other ethnomathematics-based textbooks with valid, practical and effective categories for improving the quality of learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the use of features in the Google Classroom application in online mathematics learning during the Covid-19 pandemic in one of the public secondary schools in Demak Regency in the 2021/2022 academic year. The instruments used were questionnaires and interview guidelines. The questionnaire contains statements about 21 features presented in the form of feature names and images of features. The questionnaire used in this study uses a Likert scale with choices consisting of always, often, sometimes, never, and never. Interviews were conducted to find out the teachers' reasons for not maximising the use of some Google Classrooom features as online learning media. The research method used was descriptive-quantitative. Data analysis used descriptive statistics, namely the average, then classified by category. The results of this study show that there are several features that have been optimised for use and there are also features that have not been optimally used. Features that have a high percentage of use are, share assignments, share materials, share notes with a percentage of 100% each. Meanwhile, features that have a low percentage of use are 4 features, namely the discussion feature, poll feature, feedback feature, and learning video sharing feature with a percentage of 32%, 40%, 48%, 36% respectively. Overall, the utilisation of Google Classroom features in online mathematics learning is 66% which is included in the medium category.

Abstract

Kemampuan membaca siswa Indonesia berada di urutan 72 dari 77 dan kemampuan matematika berada di urutan 72 dari 78 negara. Hal ini disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor. Salah satunya adalah pemilihan atau penggunaan buku ajar. Selain itu, kurangnya soal yang berorientasi pada literasi matematika juga menjadi penyebabnya. Pada pembelajaran di sekolah, perlu ada buku ajar yang memfasilitasi siswa dalam meningkatkan literasi matematika. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang dilaksanakan dengan wawancara dan studi literatur. Subjek yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini adalah seorang guru matematika dan 27 siswa kelas VIII MTs Negeri 1 Jepara. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah peneliti sendiri. Model Milles dan Huberman digunakan untuk menganalisis hasil data yang telah diperoleh. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa sekolah tersebut membutuhkan buku ajar yang menunjang peningkatan literasi matematika siswa. Sehingga perlu disajikan materi dan soal dengan indikator literasi matematika.

Abstract

This research seeks to understand how a curriculum reform that emphasizes studentcentered learning influences classroom instruction. The new curriculum is designed by the government of Indonesia to grant autonomy to teachers in re-emphasizing learning according to the student’s needs and local context. Previous studies suggest that teacher autonomy in elaborating curricula and pedagogy is associated with student’s engagement and improvement in learning outcomes. Given the low autonomy of teachers in Indonesia, their responses can inform how we should formulate effective reforms. This research used a case study to investigate how curriculum reform is perceived by middle school teachers and how they translate it into classroom instruction. The data was collected through classroom observations and complemented by semi-structured phone interviews with 20 Math teachers in Jakarta and Central Java from November 2022 to February 2023. To avoid incongruous instruction, this research informs that countries with a long history of low teacher autonomy like Indonesia should not promote a grand education reform design without clear guidelines and adequate support. The reformers need to touch upon teacher’s beliefs about curriculum completion and didactic pedagogy before expecting them to change their teaching practices into active learning and exercise their authority in independently developing curricula.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menggambarkan penalaran siswa kelas VII pada materi segiempat dengan pendekatan RME ditinjau dari self-regulation. Kajian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Terdapat 6 responden yang dijadikan subjek dalam penelitian. Dalam penelitian yang dilakukan, triangulasi (angket, tes dan wawancara) dipakai sebagai teknik pengumpulan data.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Siswa dengan tingkat self-regulation tinggi mempunyai penalaran matematis tinggi yaitu siswa dapat mencapai semua indikator penalaran matematis (2) Siswa dengan tingkat self-regulation sedang mempunyai penalaran matematis sedang yaitu tidak semua siswa dapat memenuhi semua indikator. Untuk soal kedua siswa hanya dapat memenuhi kemampuan mengajukan dugaan (3) Siswa dengan tingkat self-regulation rendah memiliki penalaran matematis rendah yaitu siswa hanya dapat memenuhi beberapa indikator salah satunya siswa hanya memenuhi indikator melakukan dugaan untuk soal kedua. Bagi siswa yang mempunyai penalaran matematis sedang dan rendah agar lebih meningkatkan pemahaman terkait materi maupun soal. Hal ini bisa dilakukan dengan membiasakan mengaitkan masalah dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

This study aims to make a contribution related to opinions and perceptions about negative exponents among junior high school students. In this study, negative exponents are considered as difficult things that require various efforts to instill good knowledge concepts in students. One of them is through evidence in learning mathematics. Evidence is considered capable of instilling students' knowledge concepts in negative exponent material. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research. Descriptive literature research studies through literature reviews, journals, and books relating to negative exponents. The results of this study are alternatives to completing formal and informal evidence related to negative exponents in junior high school students. Through some alternative evidence in introducing negative exponents is expected to make students better understand the form of negative exponents well. So that at the level above students can easily solve problems related to negative exponents without getting errors in the operation of advanced exponents.
