Abstract

Efforts to conserve plants and documentation of related local knowledge in the Dendam Tak Sudah Lake, Dusun Besar Village, Bengkulu City area are important to carry out and introduce to students. The study aims to synthesize the biodiversity material modules developed to identify the types of medicinal plants found in Dusun Besar Village. Thiagarajan's development model section is define, design, develop, and disseminate. Identification, synthesis, feasibility, response, and analysis data were obtained as research data. The module was piloted in five elementary schools in Bengkulu City. The study found 20 types of medicinal plants, including the most commonly used hereditary species in the Lembak community. The validation results show that the criteria are very valid, with an expert validator value of 85%. The module also received an excellent response rate of 82%. Therefore, the biodiversity material modules are very attractive, feasible, and effective for learning biodiversity materials in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research developed socio-cultural literacy test items integrated with a deep learning approach for fifth-grade elementary school students. The study involved analyzing potential and problems, collecting data and information, developing a design, revising the design, finalizing the draft, testing, analyzing, and reporting. Validation was conducted by six experts, two each in the material, language, and construction aspects. Validity based on Aiken's V-value for the material aspect was 0.625-1, indicating a moderate interpretation and very high validity. The language aspect had a value of 0.65-0.75, indicating a moderate interpretation, and the construction aspect had a value of 0.75-1, indicating a very valid interpretation. Interrater reliability for the material aspect averaged 79%, classified as strong; the language aspect averaged 89%, and the construction aspect averaged 89%, classified as near perfect. The instrument was administered to 25 fifth-grade students and empirically tested in SPSS version 29. Items 1 and 2 were invalid, items 3-15 were highly valid and very highly valid. The reliability was 0.909, a very high value. The difficulty index for items 1-6 was easy, and items 7-15 were moderate. The discrimination power of items 1 and 2 was poor; item 3 was moderate. Items 4, 8, 9, 10, 12, and 13 were classified as very good, and items 5, 6, 7, 14, and 15 were classified as good. Therefore, based on the empirical test results, the developed instrument met the requirements for content validity and was suitable for use.

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the influence of electronic student worksheets based on STEAM and Project-Based Learning (PjBL) with local coastal wisdom content to improve the critical thinking abilities of fifth-grade students in Group V elementary schools in Bengkulu City. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Matching Only Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population of this study comprised all elementary schools in Group V, Bengkulu City. The sample consisted of fifth-grade students from SDN 09 and 02 Bengkulu City, selected using Cluster Random Sampling. The research instrument used was a critical thinking skills test with a pretest and posttest. The data was analysed quantitatively using descriptive statistics, prerequisite tests, and hypothesis testing. The t-test was used to test the hypothesis. The results showed that the significance value (2-tailed) was 0.000 < 0.05 at a 5% significance level. The average scores of the experimental class (80.28) and the control class (50.21) showed a significant difference between the learning outcomes of the experimental and control classes. It can be concluded that the experimental class using electronic student worksheets based on STEAM and PjBL significantly influenced the students' critical thinking abilities. In conclusion, this study found a significant influence of electronic student worksheets based on STEAM and PjBL on the critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students in Group V elementary schools in Bengkulu City.

Abstract

Background: The development of a research-based electronic module on Mucuna pruriens L. is important because contextual and innovative learning resources are needed to connect scientific findings with excretory system concepts while improving students’ critical thinking skills. Objectives: This study aimed to develop a research-based e-module derived from findings on the effect of Mucuna pruriens L. leaf extract on burn wound healing in mice (Mus musculus), and to determine its validity and effectiveness in improving students’ critical thinking skills. Methods: This study employed the 4D research and development model consisting of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. The product was validated by five experts, and its effectiveness was tested through pretest and posttest scores. Results: The experimental study showed that Mucuna pruriens leaf extract accelerated burn wound healing, with the P3 group at the highest concentration demonstrating the best healing outcome on day 14. Based on these findings, a contextual e-module on the excretory system was developed. Expert validation yielded an Aiken’s V value of 0.94, indicating that the e-module was highly valid and feasible for use. The effectiveness test showed improvement in students’ critical thinking skills, with an N-gain score of 0.45 in the experimental class (medium category) and 0.29 in the control class (low category). Conclusion: The developed e-module met the validity and feasibility criteria and was effective in supporting research-based learning on the excretory system and enhancing students’ critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The use of ethnomathematics puzzle games as a means of educational mathematics learning that is implemented in learning not only conveys material, but can also raise potential and culture. One of the materials implemented in the ethnomathematics puzzle game is flat geometric shapes. This research aims to develop learning media for an Android-based ethnomathematics puzzle game on flat geometric material. The method used is research and development with a 4-D development model. This research was conducted at a public junior high school in Pesawaran Regency, Lampung with a total of 183 subjects. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and tests. Data analysis used in this research uses descriptive analysis. Based on the data analysis carried out, the average product validation score for media experts was 81.0 and material experts 81.0 in the valid category. The product developed is also relatively practical, the average score of 44.5 is in the very good category. The product developed was measured using posttest and pretest scores in the experimental class and control class with an average score of 58.92 for the experimental class and 9.40 for the control class based on N-Gain Score analysis, so the ethnomathematics puzzle game is quite effective for learning.
