Abstract

Abstract

The global halal industry is rapidly expanding as one of the strategic sectors in the international economy, with a continually growing market value that involves cross-border transactions, international organizations, and multilateral alliances. Although Indonesia occupies the position of one of the largest consumers of halal products in the world, its contribution as a major player in the global halal industry value chain still faces various structural and diplomatic challenges. This study aims to analyze the harmonization of international halal certification standards from the perspective of fiqh al-muʿāmalah and to formulate the role of Indonesia’s halal economic diplomacy in advocating for the protection of Muslim consumers in global markets. The research employs a qualitative-descriptive approach through library research and policy analysis. The findings indicate that, conceptually, most international halal certification standards converge with maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, particularly in the aspects of ṭahārah, ḥalāl al-dhabīḥah, and istibrā’. However, fragmented standards, divergent ijtihād on animal-derived enzymes and technical alcohol, and asymmetries among certifying authorities generate problems of traceability, the potential for monopolistic practices, and the risk of consumer harm, all of which contradict the legal maxim lā ḍarar wa lā ḍirār. This study underscores the importance of cross-madhhab collective ijtihād (ijtihād jamāʿī), the strengthening of an equitable mutual recognition scheme, and Indonesia’s proactive initiatives as a norm entrepreneur through halal economic diplomacy, including the proposal to establish an international Halal Dispute Board as a dispute settlement instrument and as a means of reinforcing the legitimacy of global halal standards grounded in fiqh al-muʿāmalah.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the key strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, and strategic directions that influence the sustainability and effectiveness of Halal Supply Chain Management (HSCM) at the national level. Employing a mixed-methods approach with an exploratory sequential design, the research integrates qualitative and quantitative analyses through the SWOT framework and the Internal–External (IE) Matrix. The findings reveal that Indonesia possesses significant strategic potential to develop a globally competitive halal supply chain, supported by its large Muslim consumer base, robust regulatory framework, growing public awareness, and the rapid expansion of halal-oriented MSMEs. Nevertheless, several structural weaknesses persist, including limited halal logistics infrastructure, high certification costs, weak inter-agency coordination, and low halal literacy among business actors. Opportunities arise from the rapid expansion of the global halal economy, digital innovation (blockchain, IoT, big data), and increasing international demand for ethical and sustainable halal products. Meanwhile, the main challenges include competition with benchmark countries, varying international halal standards, and dependency on imported raw materials. The IE Matrix positions Indonesia in the high–high quadrant, indicating a growth strategy through vertical integration—strengthening local production, standardization, digital traceability, and institutional synergy. Through this strategic approach, Indonesia has the potential to transform from the world’s largest halal consumer market into a leading producer and innovation hub in the global halal economy.

Abstract

This study examines the use of deepfake technology in halal product promotion, which poses new ethical challenges within the frameworks of media jurisprudence, Islamic economics, and consumer protection. The aim is to analyze the practice of deepfake content production from the perspective of Islamic ethics and media jurisprudence, assess its impact on Muslim consumer perception, and formulate Sharia-based ethical guidelines grounded in maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah. The research employs a qualitative approach using library research and content analysis methods, drawing data from classical and contemporary literature, the Qur’an, Hadith, and previous studies. The findings reveal that the use of deepfake technology in halal promotion has the potential to create misinformation (tagrīr), violate the principles of honesty (ṣidq) and trustworthiness (amānah), and undermine consumer protection. The study emphasizes the importance of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah as an ethical standard for validating digital content. The main contribution of this research lies in formulating a Sharia ethical framework for halal digital marketing practices, which can serve as a guideline for producers, academics, and policymakers to maintain the competitiveness of the halal industry without neglecting moral and spiritual responsibility.

Abstract

The food industry faces complex challenges in ensuring food safety and product halalness simultaneously. The globalization of supply chains, the diversity of raw materials, and the dynamics of production processes make the risk of contamination—whether biological, chemical, physical, or non-halal—increasingly high. This research aims to analyze critical points in the food supply chain, especially raw materials, production processes and distribution, as well as evaluating risk mitigation strategies based on the integration of the Halal Assurance System (HAS 23000) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP). The research method uses literature studies through searching 2019–2024 journals, official regulations, and international standards related to food safety and halal certification. The study results show that the greatest risk to raw materials comes from high-risk ingredients that are difficult to verify visually and often have multi-source origins. In the production process, cross-contamination is a dominant risk that demands strict sanitation, process flow and facility segregation. Meanwhile, the distribution stage is vulnerable to product mixing, failure to maintain temperature, and weak traceability systems. The integration of HAS and HACCP is proven to provide a more effective and comprehensive risk mitigation framework, thus becoming a strategic approach to guarantee halalan-thayyiban products.

Abstract

The development of digital services in Islamic banking demands alignment between technological convenience and the values of maqashid al-shariah. This study aims to identify user interest in the Muamalat DIN Mobile Banking application based on maslahah and to analyze the role of its features in building customer loyalty. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design grounded in Islamic consumer behavior theory and the concept of maqashid al-shariah. The results show that interest in using the Muamalat DIN application is influenced by the need for Islamic banking services, religious trust, social demands, and institutional regulatory support. The main features that drive customer loyalty include security, ease of transactions, service benefits, and the function of distributing social funds. All of these features reflect the values of maqashid al-shariah in preserving religion, wealth, and social welfare. These findings confirm that applying the principle of maslahah in mobile banking can enhance the trust and loyalty of Islamic banking customers.

Abstract

This research aims to comprehensively examine the concept of I'jaz Al-Qur'an (the Miraculousness of the Qur'an) by analyzing its definition, various forms, and primary content, to affirm its status as the sole and eternal proof of the truth of the message of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The method employed is descriptive qualitative, utilizing a library research approach, which involves content analysis of classical Ulumul Qur'an works and contemporary literature. The findings indicate that I'jaz is a multidimensional phenomenon that renders all human attempts to imitate the Qur'an incapable (a'jaza). The forms of I'jaz are classified into three main aspects: I'jaz al-Lughawi (linguistic), as the foundation of its miraculousness, which lies in its unparalleled nazhm (composition) and balaghah (eloquence); I'jaz at-Tasyri'i (legislative and moral), which guarantees the perfection and relevance of the Qur'an's universal and eternal laws; and I'jaz al-'Ilmi (scientific), which serves as a modern confirmation of its scientific allusions. It is concluded that the content of the Qur'an—comprising Aqidah (creed), Ibadah (worship), Muamalah (social transactions), and Akhlak (ethics)—is integrated, and its coherence is part of the miraculousness itself. Overall, I'jaz Al-Qur'an is an integration of the beauty of form (language), the perfection of function (law), and the truth of content (scientific), making it a miracle that continues to speak to the mind and heart in every era

Abstract

Kata Kunci: Zakat, infak, sedekah, ekonomi syari’ah   Abstract The main problem of this research is how zakat, infaq, and sedekah are managed in Islamic economics. This research is library research, namely reviewing several journals and several opinions of legal experts or scholars related to the management of zakat and sedekah. Zakat is an obligation for every Muslim who is able to allocate a certain portion of his wealth and give it to those who are entitled to receive it. Infaq is the voluntary giving of wealth by someone for a good cause and is approved by Allah, without limitations on the amount, time, or type of certain assets. Sadaqah is a voluntary giving as a form of kindness and concern for others with the aim of seeking Allah's pleasure. Public understanding of zakat, infaq, and sedekah is very important because it is directly related to awareness of worship and the effectiveness of the distribution of social assistance in Islam. Transparency in the management of zakat, infaq, and sedekah (ZIS) is very important because it is directly related to trust, accountability, and the effectiveness of social assistance.  Keywords: Zakat, infak, alms, shariah economics
