Abstract

In the era of globalization, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) has become an essential framework for business decision-making and investment, especially in emerging markets like Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the impact of ESG implementation on financial performance in Indonesian companies through a literature review approach, focusing on recent research examining the correlation between ESG practices and financial outcomes. Using a comprehensive analysis of prior studies, this research explores the influences of ESG on profitability, market value, risk management, and operational efficiency, with attention to moderating factors such as digitalization. Findings indicate that robust ESG practices positively correlate with improved Return on Assets (ROA), increased market valuation, and reduced business risk, supported by enhanced transparency and stakeholder trust. Digitalization strengthens the link between ESG initiatives and financial performance by facilitating efficient data management and compliance. This research concludes that ESG is a tool for risk mitigation and a sustainable growth strategy for companies in Indonesia.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to analyze the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with ethnomathematics on students' critical thinking skills, considering the mediating role of curiosity. Methodology: This study uses a quantitative approach using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to evaluate the relationship between variables. Indicators for the PBL model include understanding of ethnomathematics concepts, cultural relevance, student engagement, and effectiveness in learning. Critical thinking skills are assessed through basic clarification, inference, and strategy, while curiosity is measured by attention, questioning, and comparison. Main Findings: The results showed that the ethnomathematics-based PBL model significantly improved students' critical thinking skills, with a direct effect of 0.68 and a total effect of 0.92 when mediated by curiosity (indirect effect 0.24). This model explains 62% of the variance in critical thinking skills and 29% in curiosity. This study introduces a novel integration of cultural context into a PBL framework, showing that embedding local traditions enhances cognitive engagement and critical thinking in a meaningful way. Novelty/Originality of this study: The findings suggest that incorporating ethnomathematics into PBL not only enhances cognitive skills but also fosters curiosity, offering an effective and culturally responsive teaching strategy.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The purpose of this study was to produce an optimal red bean-based meatball formula using the Design Expert D-Optimal method, with a focus on increasing protein and fiber content and reducing fat content to support food diversification based on local ingredients. Methodology: The methodology of this study used red beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), Rose Brand cassava flour, and Segitiga Biru wheat flour. The tools included a Food Processor, digital scales, and texture analyzer. The analysis was carried out using the Kjeldahl method for protein, the Soxhlet method for fat, and Design Expert D-Optimal software was used for formula optimization. Main Findings: The main results of this study indicate that the optimal formula for red bean-based meatballs consists of 52% red beans, 18% cassava starch, and 11% wheat flour. This formula has the highest protein content of 15.50%, crude fiber content of 2.84%, and a chewy texture that is preferred by panelists. The attributes of color, taste, and aroma achieved the best hedonic value in the organoleptic test. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this research lies in the use of red beans as the main ingredient in making analog meatballs that are healthier, low in fat, and high in protein. In addition, the formula optimization method using Design Expert D-Optimal software provides a scientific approach to producing the best quality products, supporting local food diversification, and expanding the market potential of plant-based products in Indonesia

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of e-modules based on Toulmin argumentation patterns in improving students’ argumentation skills on buffer solution material. This study also aims to confirm that e-modules based on Toulmin argumentation patterns effectively improve students' critical thinking skills and engagement. Methodology: This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model. The research sample was grade XI MIPA students selected purposively, consisting of an experimental class using e-modules and a control class with printed modules. Main Findings: The e-module was considered very feasible to use, with an average score of 90% in content, learning design, and readability. The effectiveness test showed that the post-test score of the experimental group (85.3) was significantly higher than the control group (73.1), with p < 0.05. The Toulmin pattern component increased significantly, and 92% of students responded positively despite minor technical constraints. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty in applying the Toulmin argumentation pattern as the primary approach in developing E-Modules aims to improve students’ argumentation skills in learning buffer solutions. This study shows that e-modules based on Toulmin Argumentation Patterns effectively improve students’ logical argumentation skills, critical thinking, and conceptual understanding in chemistry learning. Integrating digital technology encourages active engagement and the development of higher-order thinking skills. These implications emphasize the importance of digital innovation for transforming 21st-century learning.

Abstract

The 21st century learning paradigm does not only focus on understanding the learning material, but places more emphasis on thinking, attitude, and communication skills. This study aims to analyze the differences and the relationship between attitudes and self-efficacy of junior high school students. This research uses quantitative methods with associative and comparative research types. The populations in this study were students of grade VIII Junior High School. Determination of the sample is done by using purposive sampling technique. The sample in this study amounted to 72 students. The data collection process was carried out using instruments in the form of attitude and self-efficacy questionnaires. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The inferential analysis used was the t-test, which was preceded by a prerequisite analysis test, namely the normality test of the data distribution and the homogeneity of variance test. The results showed that there were differences between attitudes and self-efficacy of male and female students. In addition, this study also shows a relationship between the attitude variables and self-efficacy of male and female students. In this case, it is evidenced by a significance value that is in accordance with the existing view.
