Abstract

The Central Bureau of Statistics indicates that the open unemployment rate for vocational high school graduates remains one of the highest categories at 9.60%. In vocational education, particularly in the Design Modeling and Building Information program, this gap is also evident in the low preparedness of students in understanding the career paths available and the lack of strategies they have to enter the workforce. This study aims to analyze the role of career guidance in preparing vocational high school students for the workforce. The role of career guidance is focused on three main directions for vocational high school graduates: working in industry, continuing education to higher education, and entrepreneurship. This study uses a quantitative approach with a sample of 72 students from Vocational High School Negeri 3 Semarang, divided into two classes. The sampling technique used is total sampling. Data collection was conducted through work readiness and career guidance questionnaires, as well as interviews with instruments that were previously validated by experts. Data analysis included tests for normality, homogeneity, linearity, and simple linear regression. The results showed that career guidance plays a very significant role in the work readiness of students with a value of 68.8%. Meanwhile, the remaining 31.2% is influenced by other factors not explored in the study, such as motivation, interests, talents, and effort. This was supported by interview results, where students stated that career guidance helped them recognize their potential, explore job opportunities, and begin planning their next steps, whether for employment, continuing education, or entrepreneurship.

Abstract

Academic procrastination remains a pervasive issue in higher education, negatively impacting both students' academic performance and psychological well-being. One key factor influencing procrastination is self-efficacy, defined as the belief in one’s ability to complete academic tasks. This study investigated the relationship between self-efficacy and academic procrastination among 120 students from the Islamic Education Department (PAI), 22nd cohort, enrolled in the Innovation in Learning course at UIN Raden Intan Lampung. Using a quantitative correlational design and total sampling, data were collected through two closed-ended questionnaires: a 25-item self-efficacy instrument (Cronbach’s α = 0.875) and a 20-item academic procrastination instrument (Cronbach’s α = 0.892). The data were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test in SPSS version 26, after confirming normality via the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. The results showed a significant negative correlation between self-efficacy and academic procrastination, indicating that students with higher self-efficacy are less likely to procrastinate, while those with lower self-efficacy tend to delay tasks more. Additionally, the coefficient of determination (R² = 0.312) revealed that 31.2% of the variance in academic procrastination can be explained by self-efficacy, with the remaining variance influenced by other factors such as motivation and time management. These findings highlight the importance of enhancing self-efficacy to reduce procrastination and improve academic outcomes. The study contributes to academic psychology literature and offers practical insights for educators to develop strategies that strengthen self-efficacy and reduce procrastination.

Abstract

Stunted refers to a growth disorder that can progress into stunting if not addressed promptly. This condition impacts children's linear growth but can still be improved through appropriate nutritional interventions and proper management support. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the effect of different forms of supplementary feeding based on local food sources on the increase in height of stunted toddlers in Semarang Regency. This research employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest two-group approach. A total of 20 stunted toddlers aged 12–59 months were selected through purposive sampling, with 10 subjects assigned to the regular food-based PMT group and 10 subjects to the enteral food-based PMT group. Results: In the regular food-based PMT group, the average height increased from 83.6 cm to 84.4 cm (p = 0.033), while in the enteral PMT group, the average height increased from 81.2 cm to 81.7 cm (p = 0.035). The mean increase in height was 0.8 cm for the regular food-based PMT group and 0.5 cm for the enteral PMT group. The Mann-Whitney U Test showed a p-value of 0.300, indicating no significant difference between the two groups. However, descriptively, the regular food-based PMT group exhibited a higher average increase compared to the enteral PMT group. Supplementary feeding in both regular and enteral food-based forms derived from local food sources was effective in increasing the height of stunted toddlers. However, no significant difference in effectiveness was found between the two forms of PMT within the two-week intervention period.

Abstract

The low level of student learning creativity in Islamic Religious Education, particularly in Al-Qur'an and Hadith materials, remains a challenge at the junior high school level. This is due to the dominance of learning methods that do not optimally involve the physical, sensory, and intellectual aspects of students. Therefore, this study aims to examine the application of the SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visualization, Intellectual) learning model in improving student learning creativity in Islamic Religious Education at SMP Negeri 1 Bandar Negeri Semuong, Tanggamus. This study used a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test measurements to assess changes in student creativity. Data were collected through surveys, observations, and interviews with students and teachers. The results showed that the application of the SAVI model significantly increased student learning creativity, as reflected in the increase in pre-test and post-test scores, as well as increased student participation and involvement in the learning process. These findings confirm that interactive and multimodal learning approaches are effective in Islamic religious education. The implications of this study indicate that the SAVI model can be used as a strategic alternative in the development of creative, contextual, and relevant Islamic religious education that meets the demands of 21st-century education.

Abstract

The objectives in the implementation of multisensory techniques to overcome the difficulties of early reading for first graders are also to determine supporting and inhibiting factors of learning, with outcomes described by employing a qualitative descriptive method at SD NU Tanwirul Qulub Kudus. The data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation. Triangulation was used to test the validity of the data and was analyzed through reduction, presentation, and drawing a conclusion. The results showed that a multisensory approach-phonics cards, writing exercises, interactive feedback, and special assistance to the students diagnosed with dyslexia-has satisfactorily improved the learners' abilities in early reading.Average ability increased from 58% before implementation to 84% after using the multisensory strategy. Factors supporting the success of the implementation were interesting media, gradual delivery of materials, active teacher-student interaction, and timely feedback on students' work. The inhibiting factors were the limited time and students' varying abilities. Results imply that the practical and effective model multisensory innovative approach to developing emergent literacy, can be used as a real Indonesian language program in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research investigates the effectiveness of the Learning Cycle 5E instructional model in improving students’ learning motivation in the Akidah Akhlak subject at MAN 2 Bandar Lampung. The study was conducted in response to students’ low motivation, which is attributed to the predominance of conventional teaching practices, insufficient instructional media, and limited interaction between teachers and learners. A quasi-experimental approach employing a posttest-only control group design was applied. Participants were chosen through simple random sampling, assigning Class X B as the control group and Class X C as the experimental group. Data were obtained using a 15-item non-test questionnaire that had been validated and demonstrated high reliability, with a coefficient of 0.82. Statistical analysis was performed using a t-test. The findings reveal that the implementation of the Learning Cycle 5E model significantly enhances students’ learning motivation, as evidenced by increased engagement, strong curiosity, and responsible learning behavior. These results underscore the necessity of innovative pedagogical strategies in Islamic education.
