Abstract

On-street parking activities along Merdeka Barat Street in Lhokseumawe City have disrupted traffic flow. This study aims to determine the magnitude of Vehicle Operating Costs (VOC) resulting from on-street parking activities and to compare the VOC with parking fees (retributions). The study was conducted over a 7-day period, from 07:00 to 19:00 WIB. Traffic and parking characteristics were analyzed using the 2023 PKJI method, the VOC analysis employed the 2005 method from the Department of Public Works, and parking retribution was calculated based on Lhokseumawe City Qanun No. 1 of 2024. The analysis revealed that the highest average traffic volume occurred on Tuesday with 1,328 PCU/hour and a Level of Service (LOS) of D. The highest volume of light vehicle parking occurred on Wednesday, totaling 469 vehicles. The average vehicle speeds on Merdeka Barat Street were 51.92 km/h for motorcycles, 29.02 km/h for light vehicles, and 19.26 km/h for heavy vehicles. The total Vehicle Operating Cost (VOC) on Merdeka Barat Street amounted to Rp 21,305,163.94, while the total parking retribution reached Rp 6,164,000. Abstract

This activity aims to increase the financial literacy capacity of village communities, strengthen the ability of micro-entrepreneurs to manage business finances effectively, and encourage the sustainability of businesses based on local potential. The training was held for one day and attended by 35 participants consisting of MSMEs, entrepreneurial housewives, and village youth in the Lhokseumawe City area. The implementation method included three main stages, namely: (1) preparation and coordination with village partners; (2) implementation of the training covering two main materials—simple financial management and sustainable micro-enterprise development strategies; and (3) evaluation and mentoring after the training for two months. A participatory approach was used so that participants actively discussed and directly implemented financial recording practices. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in participant understanding and skills. Before the training, only around 28% of participants were able to record their finances, while after the training, this figure increased to 87%. Participants also showed increased awareness of the importance of separating personal and business finances, and began planning more targeted business development strategies. In addition, small business groups were formed at the village level as an initial step towards sustainable economic empowerment. This PKM activity makes a real contribution to increasing the economic capacity of village communities and strengthening collaboration between universities and the community.

Abstract

Kata kunci: tata guna lahan, daerah aliran sungai, keureuto   Abstract Increasing human needs for housing and other activities have resulted in several complex environmental problems, such as a decrease in the soil capacity to absorb and hold rainwater, especially in the Krueng Keureuto watershed area. The aim of this research is to determine how much land use changes have affected changes in the flow hydrograph in the Krueng Keureuto Sub-watershed. The data used is DEMNAS data and Landsat 8 satellite image data for 2015 and 2021. Based on the 2015 and 2021 land use maps, there has been an increase in the area of fields (4.75%), residential (6.34%), plantations (11.83%), bushes (5.75%), and rivers (0.21%). Meanwhile, the area that experienced a decrease was forest (27.67%) and rice fields (1.21%). This has an impact on the rate of surface runoff and the magnitude of river flow discharge monitored at the outlet of the Krueng Keureuto watershed. Keywords: land use change, watershed, keureuto

Abstract

Keutapang Village is located in Nisam District, North Aceh Regency, Aceh Province with a village area of 123.4 ha. This village has 120 ha of agricultural land and rice as the main commodity, but the productivity of the planting season and harvest cannot be maximized due to the lack of irrigation that has been built, thus it is necessary to increase the effectiveness of irrigation management by mapping irrigation as information for village irrigation development planning. The rural irrigation map contains information on the location, situation and condition of irrigation, and the priority scale for improving the WEBGIS-based network. The purpose of this community service activity was to produce a village irrigation network map and educate village officials in increasing the effectiveness of irrigation network management through WEBGIS-based mapping. The mapping stages included measurement surveys using GPS, digitizing the surface of the area through Google Earth, depicting the layout with the AutoCAD application and making maps with QGIS/ArcGIS software. This community service activity in Keutapang Village, Nisam District produced informative and attractive village irrigation geospatial maps. The result of this activity is a digital irrigation map whose printout is submitted to the village officials. It is hoped that this map can be published and used as a basis for future sustainable village development planning.

Abstract

In an intercity movement, the choice of mode plays a fairly important role, someone will move from one city to another will certainly consider many things. In traveling during the day or night on the Lhokseumawe Medan route or vice versa, travelers will be faced with a choice of land transportation modes, namely using the Putra Pelangi Bus and the Hiace Minibus. This study aims to determine the characteristics of mode users, factors that influence mode selection. Modeling analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression analysis method. Multiple linear analysis serves to measure the effect of the independent variables on the dependent variable. There are two regression models in this study, the first model based on the characteristics of the mode (Y1) and the second based on the characteristics of the passengers (Y2). The best model based on the characteristics of the mode is Y1= 0.656 + 0.021X1 + 0.108X2 + 0.019X3 + 0.130X4 with R2=0.962 and The best model based on the characteristics of the passengers is Y2= Y= 1,775-0,032X1+0,094X2-0,005X3+0,028X4+0,079X5+0,059X6-0,226X8 with R2=0.564. Abstract

Background and Aim: Blang Asan Village has economic potential in the brick production sector; however, production activities are still conventional and have not integrated innovations in construction material technology. In addition, unmanaged Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) plastic waste contributes to environmental problems. This community service activity aimed to implement a circular economy concept by transforming LDPE plastic waste into environmentally friendly construction materials in the form of eco-paving blocks. Methods: The program was implemented using an experimental and participatory approach involving local partners through socialization, technical training, and construction implementation assistance. Laboratory testing was conducted on six specimen variations molded using 3 kg hexagonal molds. The mixtures consisted of LDPE plastic waste, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, cement, and varying amounts of used oil. Compressive strength tests were performed to determine the optimal composition. Results: The compressive strength test showed that the best composition was obtained with 15% LDPE without an oil mixture, producing a compressive strength value of 24.2 MPa. Based on SNI 03-0691-1996 standards, the product met the B Quality criteria, making it suitable for parking area applications. The program successfully transferred technology to local brick craftsmen, enabling them to independently produce eco-friendly construction materials. Conclusion: The application of LDPE-based eco-paving blocks effectively reduced plastic waste while creating value-added construction products with economic potential. This program also supported the development of sustainable green economy practices in Blang Asan Village.
