Abstract

The high population of goats in Carangwulung Village causes high amounts of animal waste to be produced on the goat farm, of course, this must be managed well so that it does not hurt the environment. The chairman of LMDH "Rimba Jaya Makmur" manages goat manure to be used as organic fertilizer which will later be commercialized and used to fertilize plants owned by LMDH. The main aim of this research is to determine the added value of goat manure which produces organic goat manure fertilizer. The location for this research was deliberately chosen in Carangwulung Village, Wonosalam District, specifically in the LMDH "Rimba Jaya Makmur" for research because the head of the LMDH "Rimba Jaya Makmur" manages goat dung. The method used is the Hayami method. The results of this research are that in managing the production of goat manure fertilizer, it has an input of 2000 kg and gets an output of 1,999 kg, thus providing added value, namely Rp. 939/kg, where the added value is > 50%, so it is classified as high and the business is worth continuing.

Abstract

Dampit District, Malang Regency, is known as the largest producer of robusta coffee, with a production of 5,464 tons in 2022. Dampit's robusta coffee is globally recognized for its quality, with nearly 90% of the production exported. Farmers in this region have added value to their coffee by processing it from coffee cherries into green beans (coffee ose), which increases their income. However, tight market competition and limited farmer knowledge about marketing margins pose challenges. This study aims to analyze the product flow and marketing efficiency of Dampit's robusta coffee through marketing margin and farmers' share analyses. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method, using interviews to map the product flow into a supply chain scheme. Marketing margin and farmers' share analyses were used to evaluate efficiency. The findings identified three product flow patterns involving farmers, collectors, small traders, and large traders. Pattern II proved to be the most efficient, with a total margin of IDR 20,000 and the highest farmer's share at 76.4%. This pattern allows farmers to receive the largest share of income compared to other patterns. These results offer recommendations to enhance the welfare of robusta coffee farmers in Dampit District by optimizing efficient marketing patterns.

Abstract

A significant problem is the lack of interest among Indonesian youth in pursuing careers in agriculture, which has profound implications for the nation's food security and economic stability. This research aims to identify agricultural development strategies that appeal to millennials and Generation Z to ensure food self-sufficiency, achieve a sustainable agricultural system, and reduce unemployment. Data sources for the research included academic journals, books, research reports, and articles published in scientific databases such as Google Scholar, Scopus, IEEE Xplore, and ScienceDirect. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied to ensure that only relevant and high-quality literature was included in the analysis. Agricultural development strategies to attract millennials or Generation Z include technology-based agricultural development, particularly digital technology, entrepreneurship-based agricultural development, sustainable agricultural systems, community-based and collaborative agriculture, and market-oriented agricultural product development. The implications of the research findings for education and policymakers are to avoid introducing millennials or Generation Z to conventional agriculture, which has been viewed negatively and unattractively, and to instead introduce them to a millennial-centered agriculture (oriented towards Generation Z's agricultural needs)

Abstract

Indonesian agriculture faces various challenges such as climate change, land-use conversion, and the low interest of younger generations in the sector. To address these issues, it is necessary to improve the quality of human resources through training based on modern agricultural technology. This study aims to analyze the potential use of screenhouses in agribusiness-oriented melon cultivation and to develop a training model implemented at the UPT. Pelatihan Pertanian Jawa Timur. The methods used include participatory observation and a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing both primary and secondary data sources. The results show that screenhouses have significant potential as educational and productive facilities in enhancing the efficiency of melon cultivation through controlled growing environments, the use of technologies such as drip irrigation and direct planting systems, as well as integrated pest and disease management. In addition, the training model implemented is holistic, covering technical aspects of cultivation, agribusiness management, and digital marketing, using an andragogical approach that encourages active participant engagement. The integration of QR codes as interactive learning media further strengthens the role of technology in the training process. The optimization of screenhouses not only boosts agricultural productivity but also strengthens the capacity of young farmers to adapt and innovate in response to the dynamic future of agribusiness.
