Market integration research has often been used to evaluate agricultural products' marketing performance. However, the involvement of marketing agencies in chili marketing resulted in a relatively high price difference and impacted market integration. So it is essential to understand how the chili market integration as an effort to improve marketing efficiency and price control policies. The study analyzed the causality and market integration of cayenne pepper prices at the farmers' and retailers' levels in East Java Province. The study used weekly cayenne pepper price data at the farmers' and retailers' levels from 2016 - 2020. The secondary data was obtained from the Department of Industry and Trade of East Java Province. The analytical methods used in this study were Engle-Granger Causality analysis and Error Correction Model (ECM). The findings showed that retail prices caused the farmgate prices, but not the other way. However, the price of cayenne pepper at the farmer and retail level in East Java Province has been integrated. Therefore, this study showed that there needs to be an improvement in the farmers' institutional system to improve the farmers' bargaining position to reduce the power of the selling price control at the farmers' level by traders.

Abstract

The third goal of sustainable development is the well-being of society. Government actions to achieve this goal is by increasing built capital (e.g., infrastructure and housing) in urban and rural areas. Other forms of capital that can improve well-being include strengthening community bonds in the community (social capital). This study aims to explore the level of social capital (bonding, bridging, and linking) in rural and urban communities and the correlation between social capital and well-being. The data used is the Indonesian Family Life Survey 5 (IFLS5). The sample consists of 12,872 rural communities and 18,532 urban communities. T-test analysis was used to determine differences in levels of social capital, while a pairwise correlation was used to determine the correlation between social capital and well-being. The results showed that the majority of urban and rural communities had moderate levels of bonding and bridging, while linking is at a low level. In addition, there are significant differences in bonding, bridging, and linking social capital between urban and rural communities, in which rural communities have higher scores than urban communities. It was also found that there was a positive relationship between the bridging and bonding of urban and rural communities and well-being.

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the factors that contribute to consumer purchasing decisions and analyze consumer satisfaction with the performance of the Zest Chicken-Geprek Lek Djo Restaurant, Sumenep City. The research location was carried out purposively and the sample method used was Accidental Sampling, totaling 100 people. The data used in this research are primary data and secondary data. The data analysis method uses Factor Analysis, Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI). The research results show that there are four factors formed consisting of 18 attributes. Two attributes that are not included in the formation of factors are Help to Help Choose Products and Individual Attention. Overall the level of consumer satisfaction with restaurant performance is categorized as satisfied because the CSI value is 75.20%. However, the attributes that need to be prioritized in improving performance are the attributes in the first quadrant, namely speed of presenting products, comfortable operating hours, greetings and thanks by the waiter. The implications of this research are that restaurants can improve service attributes, namely the friendliness of employees in Quadrant I and add employees

This research was conducted using a quantitative approach and was conducted in Prambatan Village, Balen Sub-district, Bojonegoro Regency. The determination of informants was carried out using random sampling method and 70 youth in Prambatan Village were obtained as informants. Data analysis was conducted using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method. The result was that there were three perceptions that significantly influence the interest of youth in Prambatan Village to do business in the agricultural sector, namely social perceptions (X2), psychology (X3), and convenience (X4). Meanwhile, economic perceptions (X1) and benefits (X5) had T statistics less than 1.96 and P values greater than 0.05. So for X1 and X5, Ho was accepted and H1 was rejected so that it was stated that it had no effect.

Abstract

As one of the main stakeholders in the fishing industry, shrimp farmers are directly affected by climate change that causes changes in seawater temperature, rainfall, and unpredictable weather patterns. Related to the issue, the threat to income may be felt by shrimp farmers. Therefore, in this study, we highlight two objectives as a basis for drawing up this article, namely (1) to understand shrimp farmers’ perceptions of climate change, and (2) to identify factors that influence farmers’ decisions in implementing adaptation strategies. There are two types of analysis that we use, namely descriptive analysis and logit regression analysis. Our findings show that the majority of shrimp farmers consider climate change manifested in the form of changes in rainfall patterns (96.21%), increases in pond water temperatures (98.71%), decreases in yield production (95.41%), and increases in shrimp pests and diseases (96.23%). The results of our logit regression analysis show that the decision-making factors of shrimp farmers are significantly influenced. These results indicate that the implementation of adaptation strategies in the fisheries sector can generate significant growth and reduce the risks posed by climate change. As a result, the government needs to encourage the development of more suitable climate change adaptation strategies for small-scale shrimp farmers in Indonesia.
