Abstract

This paper examines the variations of Gontor's Arabic style through a sociolinguistic approach. The objective of this study is to describe the styles of Arabic used by Pondok Modern Gontor (PMG) alumni on the social media platforms WhatsApp (WA) and Facebook (FB). The data in this paper were collected by the listening method from daily conversations of alumni on social media, and then continued through download and record techniques. The collected data were analyzed using contextual techniques. This study was successful in identifying the peculiarities of Gontor-style Arabic use by PMG alumni in social media, which manifest in several variations, including (1) verbal forms such as shortening (contractions), acronyms, and greetings; (2) the use of speech styles such as speech styles with polysemous expressions, speech styles using synonymous words, and speech styles with code-mixing; and (3) the specificity of linguistic forms consisting of Arabic vocabularies used and understood by fellow PMG alumni.

Abstract

تجريد الهدف الرئيسي من هذا البحث هو(1) فهم المعنى الأساسي من الفعل المزيد في سورة يٰسۤ. (2)  معرفة فوائد من الحرف الزيادة في سورة يٰسۤ. مع وضع هذه الأهداف التي تم تقديمها. لبحث تستخدم الباحثة البحث المكتبي. مصادر البيانات في هذا البحث من آيات القرآن الكريم في سورة يٰسۤ مكتوبة على مخطوطات قسم الدين في جمهورية إندونيسيا عام 2009. المصادر الثانوية، وهي كتب ما يتعلق بالصرف، وكتب الباحث عن أفعال، كذالك الكتب للمناهج. الأسلوب المستخدم هو أسلوب الوثائق. بعد الانتهاء من التحقيق، كانت النتائج على النحو التالي، المعاني الأساسية من أفعال المزيدة في سورة يٰسۤ تتضمن من أفعال المزيدة بحرف و أفعال المزيدة بحرفان كذالك فعل المزيد بثلاثة أحرف. فائدة أفعال المزيدة بحرف منها، التعريض، التعدية، الصيرورة، المبالغة. فائدة أفعال المزيدة بحرفان منها، المبالغة في المعنى والتعدية. فائدة فعل المزيد بثلاثة أحرف هي التَّحَوُّلُ. الكلمات المفتوحة : المعنى الأساسي؛ أفعال مجردة: سورة يٰسۤ: الأفعال المزيدة. AbstractThe main goal of this research is (1) to understand the basic meaning of the verb more in Surat Yasin. (2) to knowing the benefits of the letter increase in Surat Yasinۤ. With these goals presented. For research, the researcher uses literature research. Data sources in this research from the verses of the Noble Qur’an in Surat Yasin written on Al Quran of the Department of Religion in the Republic of Indonesia in 2009. Secondary sources, which are books related to morpholgy, and the book wrote about verbs, as well as books methode. The method used is the document style. After the completion of the researche, the results were as follows, the basic meanings of the actions of of the letter increase in Surat Yasin, which includes the actions of the letter increase  and the verbs of those with two letters, as well as doing more with three letters. The benefit of the actions of which are with a letter, exposure, transgression, process, and exaggeration. The benefit of the actions that are addicted to two letters, including the exaggeration of meaning and transgression. The benefit of doing more in three letters is transforming. From the completed research, future researchers are recommended to search for the grammatical meaning of deeds in Surat Yassin or search for the basic meaning of the act in the other surah of the Qur’an.Keywords: the basic meaning; Abstract verbs: Surat Yasin: more verbs.

Abstract

This study addresses the teaching of Islamic History at Gontor Two for Girls, where traditional lecture methods have led to declining student engagement and performance. Specifically, the average initial score of class 3F students in the academic year 1443-1444 was 2.57, or 65%, indicating a need for improvement in learning outcomes. To address this issue, the study explores the effectiveness of the VAK (Visualization, Auditory, and Kinesthetics) Learning Strategy in enhancing student engagement and achievement. The research, conducted as Classroom Action Research following Kemmis & McTaggart’s model, involved planning, action, observation, and reflection over two cycles. The findings revealed that student activeness improved from 53% in the first cycle to 80% in the second cycle. Moreover, student learning outcomes saw significant improvement, with 37.14% of students meeting the average standard in the first cycle, increasing to 88.57% by the second cycle. Based on these results, the study recommends that students actively engage in lessons and that teachers adopt the VAK strategy, particularly for Islamic History subjects, to enhance both engagement and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims at studying Arabicization methods to provide counter knowledge for the overuse of transliterated terms and the abundance of Arabic equivalents for a technical term. It further promotes precise methods on how to Arabicize foreign words in the proper way. For this reason, this qualitative research focuses on studying Arabicization methods in traditional and modern Arabic traditions. The data are collected from several Arabic books, journals, and Arabic language academy reports. For the analysis, the inductive analysis approach is mainly employed to drive the general pattern of Arabicization’s methods through interpretation made from the previous discourse on Arabicization. The research concludes that the conventional vocabulary expanding techniques, including al-ishtiqāq, al-tarjamah, al-qiyās, al-naḥt, and al-majāz, are supposedly less effective and inefficient, while al-dakhīl brings only a few advantages but situating the Arabic language contaminated with numerous peculiar terms. Hence, the four methods of Arabicisation, which involve phonetical naturalisation, morphological naturalisation, filtering, and hybrid Arabicization, are fully considered precise methods. These methods play a crucial role in generating new Arabic technical-technological vocabularies that are mainly a product of the West with all its steps. Arabicisation provides more steps of naturalisation properties that arguably can be the best way to accommodate neologism.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the poetry of Noah's ark by Ahmad Syauqi from aspects of sound or patterns. As one of the phenomenal works in the history of The Arabic fiction genre, this genre of poetry has the main characteristics in terms of the use and selection of special rhythms that are able to influence the imagination of readers or listeners so as to build their own perception of thinking. This article focuses on exploring the characteristics of sound patterns descriptively with modern literary analysis methods. From the analysis of sound patterns, it is concluded that there are basic rhythms and metrums in the study of modern literary sounds of this phenomenal poem. There are two variants of fundamental rhythms, namely internal and external rhythms. The external rhythm is manifested in the form of al-wazn from poetry which includes two main types namely bahr kāmil and bahr rajzi, the structure of the rhythm used, and the form of poetry. On the other hand, the poem also uses internal rhythms by giving rise to the rhetorical beauty (al-binyah al-badi'iyah) which consists largely of al-jinās and al-ṭibāq.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a TTCT-Verbal instrument to measure students' creative thinking skills and Arabic creative writing that essential competence of 21st-century skills. The instrument was developed based on Torrance's (1970) verbal test indicators and al-Bari’s Arabic creative writing (2009). The RD method used the 4D model design of Thiaragajan (1974). The instrument was developed with 6 components of creative thinking: ask and guess, guessing causes, guessing consequences, product improvement activity, unusual use activity, and suppose activity, with 5 items covering descriptive writing, news, poetry, Arabic quotes, and short stories. Based on the results of the 3 experts' validation tests showed that the TTCT-Verbal instrument was very valid, with an average of 4.5, and then tested on 30 university students. The results of the instrument validity test showed that all items were valid, and the reliability test showed reliable results. Therefore, this instrument is suitable for measuring the level of creative thinking and Arabic creative writing.

Abstract

This research aims at describing the language program based on bī'ah lughawiyah as an Arabic-language medium in improving the ability of Arabic speaking skills (mahārah kalām) undertaken by PUSDIKLAT UNIDA Gontor at the Pesantren Tahfizhul Qur'an SahabatQu, Deresan, Yogyakarta. The main research problem is related to the strategy undertaken by PUSDIKLAT UNIDA Gontor in developing the Arabic language environment. To answer this research question, the method used is descriptive qualitative. Research data sources are the Pesantren manager and students at the Pesantren Tahfizhul Qur'an SahabatQu, Deresan, Yogyakarta. The research used several data collection techniques, interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques in qualitative research systematically track and organize field notes obtained from interviews, observations, and other materials so that researchers can report research results. The results showed that PUSDIKLAT UNIDA Gontor had done some strategies in developing the Arabic language environment. The activities of the bī’ah lughawiyah including ilqā' al mufradāts (giving Arabic vocabulary), musyāhadah (watching), language games, Arabic speech, taqdīm al qishah (Arabic drama), Arabic poetry, master of ceremony (MC) Arabic, and muhādatsah. These programs improved the speaking ability of most female students in the Pesantren Tahfizhul Qur'an SahabatQu, Deresan, Yogyakarta, precisely in utilizing Arabic as the daily communication medium and eliminating the rigidity of learners in expressing the contents of their minds.

Abstract

This research aims to study the analysis of the ability of the bai' al-'inah contract according to the Syafi'i school and also how it is implemented in Malaysia. The author uses the qualitative research method of the literature type. The research results found that the contract of bai' al-'inah allowed by Imam Shafi'i is a contract that is free from the element of riba and other elements that can prohibit it. Among the conditions set by Imam Syafi'i are that the two sales and purchase transactions contained in this bai' al-'inah must stand alone and not be related to each other so that the second transaction is a condition for the first transaction. The Syariah Advisory Council (MPS) in Malaysia decided to allow bai' al-'inah based on the opinion brought by Imam Syafi'i. In the decision that has been issued, MPS states the conditions that must be followed by Islamic Banking Institutions in Malaysia that apply bai' al-'inah in their products. Among them are the two purchase and sale contracts, which must be clear and carried out separately; there is no repurchase condition in the contract, the time for the confirmation of the two contracts is different, and the transfer of ownership of assets is clear. This research concludes that the bai' al-'inah contract practised in Malaysia is permissible, according to Imam Syafi'i's opinion.

Abstract

تعد القصة الشعرية "سفينة نوح" لأمير الشعراء أحمد شوقي من أحد الأشعار العربية المعاصرة ذات القيم الأدبية الرفيعة في تاريخ الفنون الأدبية العربية. وذلك لما فيها من العوامل التي تثير ملكة التصور ومما يغذي ملكة التفكير لدى القارئين والسامعين. ومن أهم العوامل الأسلوبية البليغة المستخدمة فيه هي بلاغة التقديم والتأخير التي تؤثر بوجه مباشر على معاني الأسلوب. فتهدف هذه المقالة إلى دراسة ظواهر التقديم والتأخير الموجودة في هذه القصة. ويكون التحليل فيها بالتحليل الأسلوبي الأدبي المعاصر بالمنهج الوصفي. وتنتج هذه الدراسة بأن هذه القصيدة تستخدم بلاغة التقديم والتأخير في أبياتها. وقد تشتمل على تقديم الظرف على الفعل والفاعل وعليهما معا، والمفعول على الفاعل، والحال، وشبه الجملة جر ومجروره وتقديم اسم كان على خبره وتأخيره عليه. وقد يكون في القصيدة ستة مواضع لتقديم الظرف على الفعل والفاعل وعليهما معا وأربعة مواضع في تقديم المفعول على الفاعل وخمسة مواضع في تقديم شبه الجملة وثلاثة مواضع لتقديم اسم كان وتأخيره وموضعين في تقديم الحال. Abstract "Noah's Ark," considered one of Prince of Poets Ahmed Shawqi's high-level literary masterpieces, holds significant influence on reader and audience apprehension and imagination within the Arabic tradition. Its key characteristic lies in the unique poetic style, particularly in the foregrounding and backgrounding of words that carry semantic implications. This study aims to analyze the stylistic phenomena within the story. Utilizing a primarily descriptive approach with a focus on contemporary stylistic analysis methods, the study reveals the presence of foregrounding and backgrounding techniques. These techniques involve foregrounding and backgrounding of adverbs of place and time, Emphasis on objects over subjects, foregrounding of circumstantial clauses ("jar wa majrur"), foregrounding and backgrounding of "kana" nouns and their predicates. The study identifies six instances of foregrounding for adverbs of place and time, three instances for both "kana" nouns and circumstantial clauses, five instances for clauses, and four instances for object over subject foregrounding.

Abstract

The study of rhetoric is one of the sciences that studies how to process words or sentences in the Arabic language that are beautiful because they have clear meanings, and the style of the language used must be in accordance with the situation and conditions. There are three divisions in rhetoric: the science of meanings, the science of eloquence, and the science of ingenuity. In the science of ingenuity, the researcher chose alliteration and assonance. The aims of this study are: 1.Definition How many Jinas and Sajak in the book of commandments of fathers to children. 2.Definition of the types of  Jinas and Sajak in the book Fathers' Commandments to Sons. The library study is based on reading books, magazines, or other research sources to collect data, and the researcher needs deep thinking to get a good research result, then she reads the books and continues to analyze the books in terms of rhetoric.
