Abstract

Indonesian internet users (Netizens) are considered uncivilized in using the internet. The Digital Civility Index (DCI) states that the politeness of Indonesian netizens was ranked 29th out of 32 countries and the worst in Southeast Asia. The uncivility of netizens is closely related to the use of emotive language, so it is necessary to study the use of emotive language by netizens. The emotive language of Indonesian netizens in responding to YouTube posts is very interesting to study from a cyberpragmatic perspective. Cyberpragmatic studies are the use of language and communication in a digital environment or in cyberspace. The problems studied in this study are formulated: (1) How is the lingual form of the emotive language of Indonesian netizens realized in responding to YouTube posts in a cyberpramatic perspective? And (2) How is the emotive language function of Indonesian netizens realized in responding to YouTube posts in a cyberpramatic perspective? The purpose of this study is to describe and explain the realization of the form of Indonesian netizen emotive language and the function of netizen emotive language in responding on YouTube posts. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The research data is in the form of netizens' verbal responses to internet-mediated YouTube posts as a field for cyberpragmatic studies. Data was collected using the Simak Bebas Libat Cakap (SBLC) technique. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive techniques using the interactive model Miles and Huberman (1992) with the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and verification/drawing conclusions. Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that the lingual form of emotive language is stated in utterances in declarative, interrogative, and directive modes, while the function of emotive language is stated in delarative speech acts with the function of stating, informing, confirming, giving advice, and praying; in expressive speech acts with functions of praising, expressing pleasure, expressing pride, thanking, apologizing, satirizing, mocking, and insulting; in imperative speech acts with functions of ordering, prohibiting, inviting, and asking. The conclusion of this study is that the lingual form of emotive language is realized in speech in declarative, interrogative, and directive modes.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the social criticism of family problems and cultural problems in the novel Bedebah di Ujung Tanduk by Tere Liye. Novels can be an education that can be used as a form of social criticism, judgment, and role model. This research method uses the hermeneutic method with a qualitative descriptive approach. The data source of this research is the novel Bedebah di Ujung Tanduk by Tere Liye, and the data used is a choice of words, phrases, and sentences that state aspects of social criticism of family problems and social criticism of cultural problems. The data collection technique used by researchers to obtain data is the documentation technique. This documentation technique uses documents in the form of books, in this case novels, by doing two stages, namely reading and recording. The data analysis technique uses interactive methods, according to Miles and Huberman, which consist of data analysis, data reduction, and data presentation. The results show that the social criticism of family problems in this study includes domestic violence, parents who do not carry out their roles properly, and disharmonious families. The social criticism of cultural issues found in this study includes individual behavior, honesty, cooperation, and inheritability.

Abstract

This research aims to describe social critism of economic problems in the novel Tanah Para Bandit by Tere Liye. This research is based on the novel Tanah Para Bandit by Tere Liye, a story that raises the themes of caurage, friendship, and the spirit of fighting for justice. The novel Tanah Para Bandit by Tere Liye is very interesting to study using the theory of genetic structuralism because the novel contains criticism of social problems. This research method uses the hermeneutic method. The approach used is a descriptive approach. The data source for this research is the novel Tanah Para Bandit by Tere Liye. This research data is in the form of words, phrases or sentences that express aspects of social criticism of economic problems contained in the novel Tanah Para Bandit by Tere Liye. The data collection tecnique used in this research is in two stages, namely observation, and documents. The data analysis tecnique for this research are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of this research indicate that the social criticism of economic problems in this research incudes; unemployment, poverty, corruption, value of money, profits, stealing, and debt.

Abstract

This service aims to improve the literacy and creativity skills of Assa'adah Gresik High School students through training in creating poetry which focuses on the building blocks of poetry, such as theme, diction, imagery, figures of speech, rhyme and rhythm. With interactive and project-based learning methods, students are given the opportunity to understand, apply and develop original poetry writing skills. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in students' understanding and ability to write poetry, which was documented in a poetry anthology. This program also encourages students' appreciation of literature, increases their confidence in expression, and contributes to the development of literary literacy in the school environment.

Abstract

Abstract Euphemism is a more subtle expression as a substitute for an expression that is considered harsh which aims to protect the feelings of a particular individual or group. In line with this statement, this research examines the forms and functions of euphemisms in the speeches of the 2024 presidential candidates on Kompas TV YouTube. The aim of this research is to identify euphemisms in terms of form and function in speech. The data source in this research is a video on the Kompas TV YouTube account from July 15 2023 to January 7 2024. The video supporting the data was taken using documentation, listening and note-taking techniques. The video collection procedure begins by searching for news topics related to the speech topics of the 2024 presidential candidates during speeches from competing ideas, declarations, political speeches and even the 2024 presidential candidate debates. Each news topic selected is then transcribed. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The research results concluded that in terms of form, euphemisms were found in the categories of foreign terms, abbreviations, acronyms, periphrases, litotes and metaphors. Then, in terms of function, we found euphemisms that refine speech, educational degrees, and protect uncertain statements. Abstract

This research aims to describe the moral values and educational values in the novel Tanah Para Bandit by Tere Liye. Novels are complex stories and involve various problems. The novel Land of the Bandits by Tere Liye tells the story of Padma, a young woman who has been training physically, mentally, mentally and spiritually since childhood. He was trained by a grandfather named Abu Syik. This research approach uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The data source for this research is the novel Tanah Para Bandit by Tere Liye. The research data used is a choice of words, phrases and sentences that show aspects of moral values and education in the novel Tanah Para Bandit by Tere Liye. The data collection technique used by researchers to obtain data is in two stages, namely reading and taking notes. The data analysis technique used in the research uses interactive Miles and Huberman which consists of; data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of the research show thatthe moral values and educational values found in the novel Tanah Para Bandit by Tere Liye, namely moral values consisting of; moral values related to relationships with God, moral values related to relationships with other humans, and moral values related to relationships with oneself. The educational value found in this research consists of; honest, disciplined, hard working and independent.

Abstract

This study investigates elementary school students' perceptions of the web-based game “gamestolearnenglish” for vocabulary learning. The game is intended to improve vocabulary utilization, motivation, and engagement by including gamification elements. Using a qualitative study, the data was collected through interviews and observations with five fifth-grade students in Surabaya who utilized the game during English learning sessions. The results indicate that the interactive features of the game significantly enhanced student motivation and facilitated an enjoyable learning experience. On the other hand, difficulties such as inadequate material variety and technological problems associated with internet connectivity were found. The game can become a more efficient tool for learning vocabulary if developed further. This study offers valuable insights for teachers and developers of digital learning tools, enabling them to design more engaging and efficient student learning experiences.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi di era digital telah mengubah banyak industri, termasuk pendidikan. Integrasi teknologi dalam pembelajaran telah menyebabkan perubahan signifikan dalam cara pendidikan disampaikan dan dialami oleh guru dan siswa. Salah satu aspek utama dari transformasi ini adalah digitalisasi organisasi pembelajaran, yang melibatkan integrasi teknologi digital ke dalam berbagai aspek lembaga Pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan Strategi Guru Bahasa Inggris Sekolah Dasar dalam Menerapkan Literasi Berbasis Digital di Kelas Atas Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kecamatan Candi Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di tiga Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kecamatan Candi pada semester ganjil. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian fenomenologi. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi yang dilakukan guru dalam menerapkan literasi digital di kelas atas memperoleh informasi yang valid. Dengan berbagai strategi yang telah digunakan guru dapat meningkatkan rasa ingin tahu, dengan menyiapkan rencana pembelajaran yang menarik, menyiapkan media yang akan digunakan seperti, komputer, handphone, internet, perpustakaan digital, proyektor. tahap pelaksanaan, guru telah melaksanakan apa yang telah direncanakan dan dipersiapkan sebelumnya. Guru melaksanakan kegiatan literasi digital melalui proses membaca, seperti dengan mengetahui, membaca dan memahami metode. Guru juga menggunakan media seperti video, handphone, internet dan komputer. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini yaitu guru kelas unggulan SDN Kecamatan Candi telah menerapkan strategi guru dalam melaksanakan kegiatan literasi digital di sekolah dasar melalui tahapan persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi hasil. Pada tahapan tersebut literasi digital yaitu mengetahui, membaca dan memahami.

Abstract

Teachers are professionals who are not only required to be able to transfer their knowledge and educate students, but they must also be able to develop their professionalism, one of which is by conducting research. But in reality, teachers at SMPN I Buduran Sidoarjo have very little knowledge about research, especially classroom action research (CAR). The method chosen to overcome this problem is through workshops and PTK article mentoring clinics. The reason for choosing this method was to facilitate teachers at SMPN I Buduran Sidoarjo to practice directly in making CAR articles. The PTK article assistance workshop and clinic which was held on March 11 & 25 2023 was able to motivate teachers at SMPN I Buduran Sidoarjo to do CAR and help increase teachers' understanding of CAR implementation. And through the article assistance clinic, as many as 6 teachers have succeeded in publishing their articles in national journals. Abstract

Melaksanakan pembelajaran yang inovatif dan publikasi ilmiah merupakan wujud profesionalitas guru. Keberhasilan guru memecahkan masalah dengan melaksanakan pembelajaran yang inovatif merupakan best practice yang harus ditindaklanjuti dengan mengembangkan menjadi karya tulis, baik berbentuk laporan maupun artikel untuk publikasi ilmiah. Sebagai karya ilmiah, best practice wajib ditulis dengan menggunakan bahasa Indonesia ragam ilmiah. Namun, berdasarkan observasi awal pada best practice yang dihasilkan para guru SMP Negeri se-Kabupaten Sidoarjo diperoleh informasi bahwa karya ilmiah para guru masih banyak yang belum menggunakan ragam bahasa ilmiah. Hal tersebut dikuatkan dengan adanya pretes. Oleh karena itu, tujuan program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini, yaitu meningkatkan kemampuan guru menggunakan bahasa Indonesia ragam ilmiah pada karya tulis best practice. Program dilaksanakan dalam bentuk pelatihan dengan memberi sosialisasi dan pendampingan. Program diikuti 12 dosen Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya sebagai narasumber dan pendamping serta 100 guru SMP Negeri se-Kabupaten Sidoarjo sebagai sasaran program. Hasil yang diperoleh setelah dilakukan pelatihan, yaitu peningkatan kemampuan menggunakan bahasa Indonesia ragam ilmiah pada guru SMP Negeri se-Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Hal tersebut diketahui dari hasil pretes dan postes. Selain itu, hasil penilaian diri tentang peningkatan pemahaman para guru SMP Negeri se-Kabupaten Sidoarjo setelah pelatihan tentang penggunaan bahasa Indonesia ragam ilmiah pada karya tulis best practice.
