Abstract

Perubahan dari Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan (KTSP) ke kurikulum 2013 pada tujuan dan pendekatan untuk memperoleh tujuan pembelajaran IPA, menyebabkan evaluasi sebagai cara untuk mengukur ketercapaian tujuan juga mengalami perubahan. Evaluasi berfungsi untuk memantau proses, kemajuan dan perbaikan hasil belajar secara berkesinambungan. Salah satu bentuk penilaian yang menilai proses sekaligus memberikan feedback untuk perbaikan proses belajar mengajar adalah asesmen formatif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan asesmen formatif yang valid dan meningkatkan kemampuan self regulation, serta mengetahui pengaruh kemampuan self regulation terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada tema “Suhu dan Perubahannya”. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Research and Development, dengan desain pengembangan yang diadaptasi dari Sugiyono. Berdasarkan penilaian pakar, asesmen formatif dinyatakan valid secara isi, konstruksi, dan bahasa dengan kriteria layak dengan sedikit revisi (rata-rata 3,64) dan reliabel berdasar uji empiris (r = 0,694). Pada uji coba skala kecil, diperoleh keterbacaan asesmen formatif sebesar 94%, beberapa item direvisi agar sesuai dengan perkembangan bahasa siswa SMP. Hasil temuan penelitian menunjukkan (1) penggunaan asesmen formatif meningkatkan kemampuan self regulation siswa (n gain = 0,303); (2) kemampuan self regulation yang meningkat dengan diterapkannya asesmen formatif dalam pembelajaran, berpengaruh kuat (r = 0,64) dan signifikan (thitung = 4,737) terhadap peningkatan prestasi akademik siswa; serta (3) kemampuan self regulation berperan 41% terhadap prestasi akademik siswa, sementara 59% lainnya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain.Dengan demikian, asesmen formatif yang dikembangkan telah memenuhi kriteria produk pengembangan yaitu valid, praktis, efektif, dan menunjukkan nilai tambah. The change from Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan (KTSP) to Kurikulum 2013 on purpose and approach to reach purpose in science education made evaluation as the way to measure achievement also changed.  Evaluation functioned to monitor the process, progression, and  remedical of learning outcome continuously. One kind of evaluation to assess process also give feedback in teaching and learning activity’s remedical is formative assessment. This research aimed to get valid formative assessment that increase self regulation ability and to know relation between self regulation ablility with academic achievement  in “Temperature and Its Changing”. This was research and development kind of research, with design adopted from Sugiyono. According to validator, design of formative assessment was valid with some revisions based on content, construct, and language (mean score = 3.64) and reliable based on empirical analysis (r = 0.694). In small experiment, design of formative assessment got 94%, some items were corrected in order to appropriate with language development of junior high school students. Result of the research showed that (1) the using of formative assessment increased students’ self regulation ability (n gain = 0.303); (2) self regulation ability that increased because of the using of formative assessment had strong affect (r = 0.64) and significant (t = 4.737) on students’ academic achievement, and (3) self regulation ability played role on students’ academic achievement (41%), whereas 59% other was influenced by another factors.Thereby, the developed formative assessment qualified as developed product, that was valid, practical, effective, and having added value.

Abstract

It is a fact that physics is related to the application of physic formulas and mathematic approach. Invitation into inquiry is a learning model which emphasizes on the solution of daily problem. This research aims to unveil the influence of invitation into inquiry model to students’ critical thinking skills. In this research, the researcher employed mixed methods design by combining quantitative and qualitative approaches. The subject of the research is the XII grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Blora, academic year 2017/2018. The collection of the data were in the sequence of observation, tests, interview, and questionnaire. The result of the research found that the t-test obtained the significance of 0.02 or t_count<t_table. The most influencing indicator of critical thinking is in the ability of making hypothesis where it had the biggest gap of N-gain. The conclusion of this research showed that the model of invitation into inquiry had positive influence to students’ critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The concept of physics can be understood through learning activities. Everyone has their own learning styles. For students, teaching and learning activities in the classroom physics with certain learning methods will slightly affect their learning styles. This article is intended to describe how students' learning styles in physics teaching and learning activities that required by certain learning methods. The subjects used were 66 students of Temanggung senior high school at grade 11 who were taught with the Discovery-Learning teaching method. Learning styles that used to classify are Honey-Mumford learning styles. The learning style is divided into 4 groups: Activists, Reflectors, Theorists, and Pragmatists. As the result, most students belong to the reflector learning styles.

Abstract

In this research, an online application system was developed for static fluid diagnostic tests in high schools. The aim of this study is to develop an online diagnostic test and determine its feasibility. This research is classified as research and development research. The development model used in this study is the Borg and Gall model. The resulting product supports several features, including registration, user management, question bank management, test bank management, test result management, mathematical symbols, and development support. From data collection using the scale method. There are several aspects tested in determining the feasibility of software, including functional suitability, performance efficiency, compatibility, usability, reliability, security, maintainability, portability, effectiveness, efficiency, satisfaction. The results show that an average percentage of feasibility is 90.07%. Based on these results, the developed diagnostic test can be used to identify student learning difficulties.

Abstract

Nowadays, students need scientific literacy to develop skills to deal with technological developments in the industrial era 4.0. According to several studies, the scientific literacy of Junior High School and Islamic Junior High School students in various regions in Indonesia is in the medium and low categories. Innovative teaching materials appropriate for use in online learning are digital teaching materials. The development of SETS-based digital teaching materials is one of the efforts to improve students' scientific literacy in an online learning. The purpose of this research is to analyze how the validity, readability, and effectiveness of SETS based digital heat teaching materials improve the scientific literacy of Junior High School students. The method employed in this research was the Research and Development (R&D. It took the research sample from seventh-grade students of State Junior High School 3 Juwana by selecting three classes totalling 90 students. The expert validation of teaching materials using expert judgment obtained a score of 93.18% and the proof of media experts received 92.65%, indicating that teaching materials were suitable for learning media. The readability test results to the teaching materials using the gap test showed that the teaching materials were easy to understand. The results of the N-gain test from the pretest and posttest scores obtained a score of 0.706, which indicated that the enhancement of student’s scientific literacy was in the high category. Based on these result, it can be concluded that SETS-based digital teaching materials were effective in improving the scientific literacy of Junior High School students.

Abstract

The roles of technology have influence on the progress of education, one of them is developed in education based on the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 65 of 2013 namely the use of information technology that is used to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of implementing blog-based e-learning in improving cognitive learning outcomes and independent characters in the thematic learning of fifth grade elementary school. This study used a quasy experimental design with two classes of research objects consisting of a control and an experimental class. The sample was 63 students. The result of this research shows that was that there was a significant increase in student learning outcomes and independent characters. The average increase in learning outcomes of 84% was in the very good category. In addition, the application of learning using blog-based e-learning in thematic learning makes the desire to compete enhance learning and be able to work independently is in the very high category. The average N-Gain test was of 0.49 which was in the medium category. It showed that the increase in cognitive learning outcomes in the experimental class using blog-based e-learning was more effective than the control class using google classroom.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan elemen kognitif konsepsi medan yang tersimpan di dalam long term memory (LTM) sebagai dasar pemecahan masalah melalui respon jawaban spontan mahasiswa calon guru fisika. Data diperoleh dengan menggunakan metode thinks-aloud. Responden terdiri atas 8 mahasiswa semester 2 yang telah menempuh fisika dasar dan 9 mahasiswa semester 6 yang telah menempuh matakuliah pengayaan lisrik magnet. Responden diberi pertanyaan real worlds yang menyangkut konsep dasar medan dan memerlukan jawaban secara spontan. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan signifikan tentang pola konsepsi medan yang segera dapat diaktivasi untuk pemecahan masalah, antara mahasiswa semester 2 dan semester 6. Hal ini juga menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep medan pada mahasiswa selama perkuliahan pengayaan listrik magnet tidak mampu membentuk resource aktif di dalam memori jangka panjang. Pola berpikir mahasiswa dalam memecahkan masalah medan cenderung menggunakan penalaran dan pendekatan intuitif. Penalaran lebih banyak digunakan oleh mahasiswa semester 6 dibandingkan dengan semester 2.Kata kunci: analisis kognitif, konsepsi medan, respon jawaban spontan

Abstract

Scientific argumentative skills could encourage the critical thinking skill of college students about scientific phenomena. This research aimed to measure and describe the scientific argumentative skill of the primary school teacher candidates, reviewed from the scientific literacy. This research applied the quantitative method by using a survey typed cross-sectional design. The researchers selected the participants with convenience sampling. The results were 184 college students of even semester of 2020/2021. The applied instrument was the validity process. The data collecting techniques were test and questionnaire assisted with a Google Form. The test instrument consisted of four items. Then, the questionnaire item of the student’s perceptions about the argumentative scientific skills consisted of ten items. The researchers arranged the instruments with the indicators of science literacy-based scientific argumentative skills about biodiversity. The validity results showed that the test and questionnaire instruments were valid, relevant, and reliable to measure the skills. The researchers measured the argumentative scientific skills with Toulmin argumentative pattern (TAP) that was modified. The scientific argumentative skill profiles of the students showed that a percentage of 52% students was at level 3. However, there were no students reaching level 5. The students’ perceptions showed that they were interested in expressing their arguments and confidence while expressing their opinions. The results suggested the science educators prepare teacher candidates with argumentative scientific skills by developing learning innovation. The empowerment strategy by using scientific argumentation measurement is essential to apply to create better primary school teacher candidate with 4.0 century skills.

Abstract

Energy conservation is one of the first steps to overcome the scarcity of energy resources in the future, which can be done through educational channels. This study aims to find out the validity, effectiveness, and practicality of using POED (Predict, Observe, Explain and Do) learning model devices used in increasing the tendency to have energy conservation attitudes in learners. In addition, to find out the effectiveness of POED learning model devices to improve learning outcomes in learners. The type of research used is development research that produces products in the form of learning model devices. This research procedure adapts the ADDIE development model consisting of five stages, including: analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. Based on the test results of the learning model device, all dimensions included in the criteria are very valid. Learning using POED model devices further increases the tendency to be energy conservation of elementary school learners compared to conventional learning models. The POED learning model is declared practical to use and able to increase the tendency to have energy conservation attitudes in learners. It can be concluded that the use of POED learning model devices is quite effectively used to improve learning outcomes and the tendency to have energy conservation attitudes in elementary school learners.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of online learning media and face-to-face learning both in the advantages and disadvantages and obstacles faced by teachers in learning. This research uses descriptive research methods with a quantitative approach. This sampling technique uses probability sampling techniques. The sample used was grade VII and VIII students totaling 131 students. The results showed 1) Student learning outcomes using the online learning method sum score of 10,075. 2) The advantages of online learning methods include flexible time and place, there are learning videos that can be accessed by students, and save quota, while the disadvantages are the availability of different networks in each place, students cannot socialize directly, and the lack of teacher supervision of learning outcomes. 3) Student learning outcomes using the face-to-face method have a sum score of 10,900. 4) The advantage of face-to-face learning is that it can directly supervise student learning outcomes, interaction between students occurs. While the drawback is the lack of facilities for interactive learning, students are required to be disciplined in arriving on time, and making students dependent. 5) The obstacle faced by teachers is limited internet quota, not all teachers are familiar with using WhatsApp.
