Abstract

The foodstuff course is one of the subjects that is closely related to the context of daily life. The learning model that has been applied by lecturers has not been able to encourage students to use science process skills optimally and produce real work. The teaching materials used also have not trained students' skills and independence in solving problems of daily life. Borax is a prohibited additive in foodstuffs. This study aims to develop borax indicators from natural substances and develop project-based student worksheets to improve science process skills. The development of natural indicators of borax was carried out using the true experimental design method. Extracts of natural indicators were tested for color change in a solution of pH 5, 7, 12 and on positive and negative borax food samples. The development of student worksheets is carried out using a 4D (defining, designing, developing, and disseminating), model and is only limited to the stage through expert review. LKM that has been developed are validated by experts. The data obtained were then analyzed descriptively. The results showed that (a) extracts from secang wood and turmeric could be used as natural indicators of borax and (b) expert assessment of aspects of student worksheets obtained results in the high and very high validity ranges. The results of the development of natural indicators of borax can be used in the development of teaching materials. The developed student worksheets are suitable for limited testing

Abstract

Abstrak. Era revolusi industri 4,0 dan era society 5,0 menantang mahasiswa lulusan LPTK untuk memiliki hard skill maupun soft skill yang terasah dengan baik. Kemampuan berargumentasi menjadi salah satu kemampuan yang penting dimiliki oleh mahasiswa. Kemampuan argumentasi ilmiah merupakan proses memperkuat suatu klaim dengan menitikberatkan pada kemampuan mengemukakan ide dan gagasan tentang fenomena sains dalam kehidupan sehari-hari yang berdasarkan bukti dan kesesuaiannya dengan teori yang ada. Kemampuan argumentasi ilmiah ini sangat terkait dengan isu penting pada beberapa tahun terakhir ini, yakni keterampilan abad 21. Dengan keterlibatan mahasiswa dalam berargumentasi, maka mahasiswa dapat belajar untuk menghargai hubungan antara bukti dan klaim serta pentingnya pembenaran dalam argumen ilmiah. Pada pembelajaran aplikasi sains, pendidik atau dosen dapat mengelompokkan bahasan materi keseimbangan lingkungan dapat dikaitkan dengan isu sosiosaintifik dalam beberapa tema di antara; 1) pelestarian keanekaragaman hayati dengan teknologi; dan 2) penggunaan pestisida untuk memberantas hama; 3) cara menjaga keseimbangan lingkungan. Setelah pengelompokan tema tersebut, pendidik dapat memberikan suatu permasalahan yang terkait dengan isu sosiosaintifik Dengan tema-tema yang dekat dengan kehidupan sehari-hari serta beberapa hal menimbulkan perbedaan pendapat, diharapkan mahasiswa mampu mengembangkan kemampuan argumentasinya berdasarkan data (data), klaim (claim), pembenaran (warrant), dukungan (backing), dan sanggahan (rebuttal). The 4.0 industrial revolution era and 5.0 era society challenged students who graduated from the Education Personnel Education Institute to have well-honed hard skills and soft skills. The ability to argue is one of the important abilities possessed by students. The ability of scientific argumentation is the process of strengthening a claim by emphasizing the ability to express ideas and ideas about scientific phenomena in everyday life based on evidence and in accordance with existing theories. The ability of scientific argumentation is closely related to important issues in recent years, namely 21st century skills. By involving students in arguing, students can learn to appreciate the relationship between evidence and the importance of justification in scientific arguments. In learning science applications, educators or lecturers can group environmental balance material with socio-scientific issues in several themes, including 1) preservation of biodiversity with technology; and 2) use of pesticides to eradicate pests; 3) how to maintain environmental balance. After grouping these themes, educators can provide a problem related to scientific issues. With themes that are close to everyday life and some things that cause differences of opinion, students are expected to be able to develop their argumentation skills based on data (data), claims, justifications. (warrant), support (support), and rebuttal (rebuttal). Key words: scientific argumentation ability, 21st century skills, prospective elementary school teachers.

Abstract

Abstrak. Mahasiswa pada abad 21 menghadapi masalah kehidupan nyata, dimana teknologi memegang peranan penting dalam kehidupan. Sehingga dunia pendidikan pada abad 21 ini menghadapi tantangan memberikan mahasiswa Pendidikan berbasis keterampilan untuk menghadapi masalah kehidupan nyata tersebut. Selanjutnya keterampilan yang dikembangakan itu disebut dengan keterampilan abad 21 (4C: Critical thinking, Collaboration, Creative, Communication). Oleh karena itu perlu dikembangkan suatu pendekatan model pembelajaran yang menjawab tantangan abad 21 tersebut. Salah satu pendekatan itu adalah pengembangan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek atau Project Based Learning (PjBL) terintegrasi STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui persepsi dan pembiasaan dosen IPA, serta persepsi mahasiswa dalam penggunaan model PjBL terintegtrasi STEAM pada mata kuliah IPA. Subjek penelitian adalah 10 dosen IPA dan 33 mahasiswa Pendidikan IPA. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mengembangkan kuesioner yang telah divalidasi dan diuji reliabilitasnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model PjBL terintegrasi STEAM sangat baik untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan keterampilan abad 21 bagi mahasiswa. Kata kunci: project based learning (PjBL), steam, keterampilan abad 21 Abstract. Students in the 21st-century face real-life problems, where technology plays an important role in life. So that the world of education in the 21st-century faces the challenge of providing students with skills-based education to deal with these real-life problems. Furthermore, the skills developed are called 21st-century skills (4C: Critical thinking, Collaboration, Creative, Communication). Therefore, it is necessary to develop a learning model approach that answers the challenges of the 21st-century. One such approach is the development of an integrated project-based learning (PjBL) model of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics). The purpose of this study was to determine the perception and habituation of science lecturers, as well as student perceptions of the use of the STEAM-integrated PjBL model in natural science courses. The research subjects were 10 science lecturers and 33 science education students. Data collection is done by developing a questionnaire that has been validated and tested for reliability. The results of the study show that the use of the STEAM integrated PjBL model is very good for improving critical thinking skills and 21st-century skills for students. Abstract

Pemecahan masalah merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang perlu dikuasai oleh peserta didik pada abad XXI. Kemampuan CPS perlu dikembangkan sejak usia sekolah. Model atau strategi atau pendekatan pembelajaran yang paling tepat untuk mengajarkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah kompleks menjadi pertanyaan yang belum terjawab? Artikel ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pertimbangan tentang pembelajaran seperti apa yang dapat digunakan oleh pendidik untuk dapat mengembangkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah kompleks. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah penelitian systematic literature review. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran berbasis masalah, berbasis kasus dan berbasis proyek berpotensi untuk digunakan dalam pengembangan kemampuan pemecahan masalah kompleks jika dipadukan dengan pembelajaran digital dan game edukasi. Namun demikian, hingga saat ini pembelajaran berbasis masalah yang dipadukan dengan pembelajaran digital dan game edukasi yang banyak digunakan untuk pengembangan kemampuan pemecahan masalah kompleks. Bagi peneliti yang akan mengembangkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah kompleks, artikel dapat dijadikan refernsi dalam memilih model pembelajaran.

Abstract

Argumentasi ilmiah merupakan keterampilan penting yang perlu dimiliki oleh guru. Perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi memberi ruang dalam berkolaborasi. Salah satunya menggunakan Trello. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pemanfaatan Trello sebagai ruang maya untuk membangun argumentasi ilmiah kolaboratif pada pelatihan guru Fisika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah 35 guru Fisika MA yang mengikuti pelatihan jarak jauh secara daring khususnya mata pelatihan Termodinamika. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah catatan aktivitas (log activity) pada aplikasi Trello. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa platform Trello dapat digunakan sebagai ruang maya argumentasi ilmiah kolaboratif khususya pelatihan guru fisika. Tahapan penggunaan Trello dalam membangun argumentasi ilmiah kolaboratif dimulai dari stimulasi permasalahan, klaim setiap kelompok, pencarian bukti, melakukan gradasi bukti serta penalaran kelompok.

Abstract

Keberadaan kurikulum merdeka memberikan alasan untuk segera dilakukan penelitian baru. Dimana pada standar penilaian kurikulum merdeka, guru wajib untuk melakukan diagnostik kognitif awal peserta didik sebelum proses pembelajaran dimulai. Namun demikian, hasil observasi di lapangan menunjukan masih terbatasnya instrumen tes diagnostik. Selain itu, IPA menjadi salah satu mata pelajaran yang perlu menjadi fokus. Kompetensi peserta didik dalam penguasaan konsep IPA masih terbilang rendah. Pengembangan instrumen tes diagnostik pada materi IPA menjadi salah satu kebutuhan dewasa ini. Rasch model menjadi salah satu model analisis yang dapat digunakan untuk mengetahui kelayakan suatu instrumen. Sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen tes diagnostik pada materi IPA melalui implementasi Rasch Model. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan. Adapun model penelitian dan pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model ADDIE. Hasil implementasi Rasch Model menunjukan bahwa instrumen tes diagnostik pada materi IPA yang telah dikembangkan adalah valid dari segi konten maupun konstruk, serta reliabel. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian serta pembahasan yang telah diuraikan, penelitian menghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa produk pendidikan berupa instrumen tes diagnostik pada materi IPA layak digunakan untuk digunakan pada khalayak umum untuk mendiagnosis pengetahuan awal peserta didik pada materi IPA.

Abstract

Abstrak. Scientific argumentation is a means to encourage students' critical thinking skills toward natural phenomena. By having scientific argumentation, a higher conceptual understanding of students could be ensured. This research aims to review and explore the related scientific argumentation findings for describing the importance of scientific argumentation measurement and finding out the patterns of scientific argumentation measurement. The literature review analyses showed that scientific argumentation-based learning could improve critical thinking, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills. Besides that, the scientific argumentation measurement pattern could be found out by using Toulmin Argumentation Pattern (TPA), Scientific Argumentation and Reasoning (SRA), and Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning (CER). Scientific argumentation could be used to improve students' understanding of scientific concepts related to science phenomena. Thus, creating conclusions and understanding learning concepts by using claims and rebuts logically, analytically, and scientifically could occur. The empowerment strategy by using scientific argumentation measurement pattern is important to apply. Using an appropriate learning model is also important to create better students' outcomes with 21st-century skills.Key words: scientific arguments, measurement pattern, literature review

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to conduct a literature review on measuring the Complex Problem Solving (CPS) skills. This study examines the instruments used to measure the CPS skills in the past 10-15 years. In addition, this study also describes indicators for measuring CPS skills. This type of research used in this study is a systematic literature review study using the PRISMA principle. The results showed that most of the CPS measurement instruments used in the journal articles reviewed were computer-based tests. Computer-based tests were chosen because they can simulate a dynamic environment. The CPS studies reviewed did not use certain CPS indicators and became a standard. The CPS indicators used are adjusted to the research theme being carried out.

Abstract

This study aims to describe physics teachers' ability to represent their content knowledge and pedagogy on classical mechanics concept using a CoRe framework in teaching practice, and to figure out their ability to develop the CoRe according to the length of teaching experiences, educational levels, and gender. The data were collected by reviewing the CoRe documents created by 40 high school physics teachers in Central Java and the Yogyakarta Special Region as a part of in-service training activities. The RASCH model was employed to analyze the research data, both qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the study revealed that teachers were able to develop the CoRe with high qualification (76,1%). There was no teacher with poor and even fail categories. The ability to develop the CoRe will support them in designing a classroom learning. The aspect that requires improvement is the statement about outlining the material structures that will be delivered to students based on their mastery levels. The findings employing the DIF analysis showed that the length of teaching experiences had an effect on differences in the ability to develop the CoRe on the aspects of big idea development, material choices and sequences of delivery. Nevertheless, the ability of male and female teachers to develop CoRe is relatively similar. Meanwhile, physics teachers with master degree have better identification skills and procedures for the significance of big idea development than those with bachelor degree do.

Abstract

The absence of ideal characteristics from the use of practicum can be solved based on empirical data which makes the practicum more effective. Reality construction is a way of taking pictures based on what students get from practical experience. The purpose of this study is to identify indicators of reality construction formed by students in online practicums. The method used is a meta-analysis by reviewing 24 international journals. The data analysis used is quantitative data analysis with effect size and percentage, while qualitative data analysis is for data resulting from narrative studies of the studies encountered. Based on analysis study of reality construction indicators can be generated five indicators that often appear, which is conceptual understanding, relevance and contribution of laboratory activities, student satisfaction, interaction and laboratory work patterns, resources and instructional. Students' conceptual understanding can be increased by applying online practicum. More than 60% of respondents stated that the contribution of online practicum is the same or better than conventional practicum. Overall, students feel quite satisfied in accessing online practicum, especially satisfaction in terms of time. However, students have more difficulty collaborating in online practicums. Along with the development of digital technology can facilitate interaction by communicating virtually. In addition, adequate quality of resources and instructional resources are needed so that they can effectively frame student learning.
