Abstract

Background. Parenting patterns play a critical role in the mental health and well-being of children, particularly during the school-age years when they experience significant emotional and social development. The way parents interact with their children, provide support, and set boundaries can either foster resilience or contribute to mental health challenges. Purpose. This study examines the influence of various parenting patterns—authoritative, authoritarian, permissive, and neglectful—on the mental health of school-age children. Method. The primary objective is to investigate how these parenting styles affect children’s emotional regulation, self-esteem, anxiety levels, and overall mental well-being. A quantitative research design was employed, using surveys administered to 400 parents of school-age children, complemented by psychological assessments of their children’s mental health. Results. The results indicate that authoritative parenting is positively associated with better mental health outcomes, including higher self-esteem and lower anxiety levels. In contrast, authoritarian and neglectful parenting were linked to increased anxiety and lower emotional regulation in children. Conclusion. The study concludes that parenting patterns significantly influence the mental health of school-age children, highlighting the importance of supportive, balanced parenting approaches. Interventions aimed at promoting authoritative parenting could contribute to improved mental well-being in children, particularly in academic and social contexts.

Abstract

KH. Abdurrahim Pasuruan, through the Mahabbah congregation, cannot escape the role of his grandfather, KH. Abdurrahman and studied with Habib Syaikh bin Ahmad Bafaqih Botoputih Surabaya. This qualitative descriptive writing using library research reveals KH's Sufistic preaching. Abdurrahim Pasuruan through the Mahabbah congregation. This article finds the following things, including First, the Sufistic preaching of KH. Abdurrahim Pasuruan, through the Mahabbah order, came from his father, KH. Abdul Hadi, who is named after his grandfather, KH. Abdurrahman studied with Habib Syaikh bin Ahmad Bafaqih Botoputih Surabaya. Second, during the time of KH. Abdurrahim, this Mahabbah order was formed in a forum called ISHARI which was founded on January 23, 1959. Third, the Mahabbah order in ISHARI teaches love for Allah SWT and Rasulullah SAW through reading the Book of Maulid Syaraf Al-Anam and the prayer-poems in the Book. Diwan Hadrah and several other reference books. Fourth, the Sufistic preaching of KH. Abdurrahim through the Mahabbah order in the ISHARI forum has been implemented by many Sufism experts such as Rabiah Al-Adawiyah, Ibrahim bin Adham, Sari As-Saqati, and others.

Abstract

Family dynamics play a crucial role in shaping children's behavior and academic success. Conflicts between parents and children can disrupt these dynamics, particularly for elementary school students with behavioral challenges. This study examines the effect of family counseling services on improving the relationship between parents and problematic elementary school students. The research aims to evaluate whether structured family counseling can enhance communication, mutual understanding, and collaboration between parents and their children. A quasi-experimental research design was employed, utilizing pre-test and post-test measures with a control group. The sample consisted of 50 families selected through purposive sampling, divided equally into experimental and control groups. Data were collected using relationship quality questionnaires, observational records, and structured interviews. The results indicate a significant improvement in the parent-child relationship within the experimental group compared to the control group. Participants reported enhanced communication, reduced conflict, and increased emotional bonding after engaging in the family counseling sessions. These findings suggest that family counseling is an effective intervention for addressing relational issues and fostering a supportive environment for elementary school students with behavioral difficulties.

Abstract

Lately, there has been a lot of news about bullying cases in several Islamic boarding schools. This study discusses the optimization of prevention and advocacy of bullying cases in Islamic boarding schools. The data analysis technique uses content analysis by sorting things that are in accordance with the focus and objectives of the study. This study found that bullying is an act that is painful both physically and non-physically from the person who does it to the victim, such as teasing, hitting, kicking, mocking, cursing, gossiping, cursing, shouting, isolating, intimidating, pressuring, discriminating, and ignoring. Ways to prevent bullying in Islamic boarding schools can be done by explaining to students the verses of the Quran that have prohibited bullying. For example, Surah An-Nisa verse 30 prohibits committing violence against others. Surah Al-Hujurat verse 11 prohibits acts of belittling, mocking, and cursing others. There are even many more verses of the Quran that contain prohibitions on bullying. In addition, ways to prevent acts and advocate bullying in Islamic boarding schools can be done with four methods, namely the approach method, the consequence method, the special method, and the activity method. Meanwhile, preventing acts of bullying in Islamic boarding schools can also be done in three ways, namely prevention with spiritual awareness, prevention by maintaining harmony and breaking the cycle of problems, and prevention by eliminating inferior traits and honing assertiveness skills.

Abstract

Cara merealisasikan ajaran tasawuf ada bermacam-macam yang dilakukan oleh para penempuh tarekat. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kepustakaan ini membahas tentang isi manuskrip, ajaran tasawuf, dan jejaring keilmuan dari Kiai Abdul Qahhar Ngruweng. Teknik analisis datanya melalui analisis isi dengan memilah-milah data yang sesuai dengan tujuan penelitian. Temuan penelitian ini menemukan beberapa hal berikut. Pertama, manuskrip Kiai Abdul Qahhar berisi tentang: ajaran tauhid, tulisan Kitab Sittin Mas’alah karya Syaikh Ahmad Az-Zahid, dan ajaran tasawuf. Kedua, ajaran tarekat Kiai Abdul Qahhar direalisasikan melalui empat tarekat, antara lain: Naqsyabandiyah, Akmaliyah, Hurufiyah, dan Syattariyah. Ketiga, beberapa jejaring keilmuan Kiai Abdul Qahhar yang tersebar hingga sekarang, antara lain: jejaring keilmuan ulama Gunung Kawi Malang dibawa oleh Kiai Ageng Muhammad Sufiyah; Mbrebesmili Blitar dan Ponorogo dibawa oleh Kiai Ageng R.M. Djojopoernomo; kemudian menurunkan kepada beberapa wakil wirid hingga menyebar ke berbagai daerah, antara lain: Tulungagung, Trenggalek, Probolinggo, Surabaya, Banyuwangi, Sidoarjo, Samarinda, dan lainnya.

Abstract

Abstract Sunan Kalijaga memiliki murid bernama Sunan Tembayat sebagai penerus keilmuannya. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan studi kepustakaan ini membahas wejangan Sunan Kalijaga kepada Sunan Tembayat. Teknik analisanya menggunakan analisis isi dengan memilah-milah data sesuai dengan fokus penelitian. Tulisan ini menghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa beberapa wejangan Sunan Kalijaga kepada Sunan Tembayat, antara lain: (1) wejangan Patembayatan, yakni agar setiap orang tidak merasa sombong terhadap sesama, harus saling menghormati dan menghargai tanpa memandang perbedaan suku, bangsa, kulit, dan semacamnya; (2) wejangan Pambukaning Tata Malige Baitul Muharam, yakni ilmu rasa (batin) yang berguna untuk merasakan empati terhadap semua lapisan masyarakat, tanpa memandang perbedaan agama, golongan, budaya, ras, dan semacamnya. Dengan empati menjadikan manusia tidak merasa ajarannya paling benar di hadapan Tuhan, sementara ajaran lainnya salah; (3) wejangan Sangkan Paraning Dumadi, yakni ilmu yang menjelaskan bahwa semua ini milik Tuhan dan akan kembali kepada Tuhan; dan (4) wejangan Sekar Telon, yakni berupa: bunga mawar, artinya simbol dari berwarna-warna suku, budaya, agama, dan semacamnya; bunga kenanga, artinya bisa melakukan begini dan begitu; dan bunga kantil, artinya hendaknya selalu bergantung kepada Tuhan dan persatuan semua bangsa. Abstract

In the month of Asadha, the Buddha first gave a lecture to his followers which contained concern for the happiness of all living beings, both visible and invisible. This qualitative research using a literature study will examine the concept of concern from Buddhist teachings for the happiness of all living creatures. The data analysis technique uses content analysis by sorting things according to the focus and objectives of the research. This research produced the following findings. First, the commemoration of the holy month of Asadha teaches Buddhists the importance of understanding the nature of human life and its purpose. With his concern, the Buddha explained the Four Noble Truths, namely: (1) the truth of suffering; (2) the truth of the origin of suffering; (3) the truth of the cessation of suffering; and (4) the truth of the path leading to the cessation of suffering. Second, the commemoration of the holy month of Asadha teaches Buddhists the importance of the path to the cessation of suffering which is usually called the "Noble Eightfold Path" or "Middle Path", namely a path that Buddhists must take to lead to the cessation of suffering and obtain unlimited happiness and enlightenment.

Abstract

Pengembangan memerlukan landasan. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan studi kepustakaan ini membahas landasan pengembangan kurikulum pendidikan Islam multikultural. Teknik analisanya menggunakan analisis isi dengan memilah-milah data yang sesuai dengan fokus penelitian. Tulisan ini menghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa pengembangan kurikulum pendidikan Islam multikultural memiliki landasan yuridis pemerintah Indonesia, yaitu: Pancasila landasan ideal bangsa; Undang-Undang Dasar 1945 landasan konstitusional; Undang-Undang Sistem Pendidikan Nasional Nomor 20 tahun 2003 landasan operasional penyelenggaraan pendidikan; landasan teologis-normatif, yaitu: nilai kebersamaan (QS. Al-Hujurat: 13); nilai kelemahlembutan (QS. Ali Imran: 159); nilai kesatuan sosial (QS. Al-Anbiya: 92); nilai toleransi (QS. Al-Baqarah: 256); nilai saling menghormati (QS. Asy-Syura: 15); nilai bersikap progresif (QS. Ar-Ra’du: 11); nilai persaudaraan (QS. Al-Hujurat): 10; dan lainnya.

Abstract

Curriculum development in education must be carried out with various considerations. This qualitative descriptive study, using a literature review, discusses the development of a multicultural-based curriculum from both theoretical and practical perspectives. The data were analyzed using content analysis, selecting data that aligns with the research focus. This paper concludes that a multicultural-based education curriculum is one that embraces cultural diversity and consistently explores differences as a divine necessity. Multicultural-based curriculum development aims to respect all diversity, create peace, protect human rights, and foster democracy. Several learning developments that teachers should focus on for students in a multicultural-based curriculum include: peace learning, human rights learning, and democracy learning. Furthermore, if multicultural-based curriculum development is linked to Islamic religious education, it must be grounded in psychological, sociological, and philosophical foundations, and adhere to the principles of relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, and flexibility

Abstract

Buddhism has seven noble concepts of wealth that can lead its followers to true happiness. However, these seven noble riches are not only in the form of material or abundant possessions. This qualitative research using literature study will examine the seven noble riches in Buddhism. The data analysis technique uses content analysis by sorting things according to the focus and objectives of the research. This research resulted in the following findings of seven noble riches in Buddhism: (1) saddhā, namely belief in the Tiratana, namely Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha; (2) sīla, namely the signs of an action leading to liberation (nibbana); (3) hiri, namely being ashamed of doing evil things such as killing, stealing, committing immoral acts, lying, slandering, speaking harshly, speaking uselessly, and others; (4) ottapa, namely feeling horrified and afraid of the consequences of committing evil acts; (5) bāhusacca, namely remembering a lot of dhamma and understanding many useful things; (6) cāga, namely being willing to let go, abandon and share things with people who need them; and (7) paññā, namely wisdom resulting from experience, reasoning, and knowledge. Even though a person is poor in possessions or material things, if he has these seven noble riches, then he can be said to be a truly rich person.
