Abstract

TaRL (Teaching at the Right Level) is a learning approach that does not focus on class level, but rather focuses on the level of cognitive ability of each student in the class. This approach provides students with the opportunity to learn according to their cognitive abilities by forming discussion groups based on low, medium and high ability levels, not based on class level or age. The aim of this research is to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes through the application of learning using the TaRL approach and the PBL learning model for class XI-G students at SMAN 2 Mengwi on statistics material for the 2023/2024 academic year. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with two cycles. The harvest cycle consists of planning, implementing evacuation and reflection. The subjects of this research were students in class XI-G of SMAN 2 Mengwi in the 2023/2024 academic year. The data collection instruments used in this research were observation sheets, interviews and tests. The results of the research showed that in cycle I the percentage of students who completed was 50% then increased in cycle II with a completion percentage of 77%, because they had fulfilled the specified classical completeness, the research was stopped in cycle II. Based on these results, it can be concluded that there has been an increase in students' mathematics learning outcomes in statistics material by implementing learning using the TaRL approach.

Abstract

Problem based learning merupakan model pembelajaran yang mendorong peserta didik untuk lebih aktif dan memaksimalkan kemampuan berpikir kritis untuk mendapatkan solusi dari masalah pada dunia nyata. Namun masih banyak peserta didik yang mengalami permasalahan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perbedaan keefektifan pendekatan realistic mathematics education dengan model problem based learning ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan hasil belajar matematika peserta didik di sekolah. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas X SMAN 7 Denpasar Tahun Pelajaran 2023/2024 dan diambil dua kelas secara acak yaitu kelas X.1 dan kelas X.2. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah soal tes pemecahan masalah dan soal hasil belajar matematika pada materi barisan dan deret. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) ada peningkatan keefektifan hasil belajar matematika dengan pendekatan realistic mathematics education dengan model problem based learning ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah, (2) ada peningkatan efektivitas hasil belajar matematika melalui pendekatan realistic mathematics education ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah, dan (3) terdapat perbedaan keefektifan antara pendekatan realistic mathematics education dengan model problem based learning ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan hasil belajar matematika peserta didik pada materi barisan dan deret secara bersamaan.

Abstract

The transformation of learning at the elementary school level requires teachers to apply instructional approaches aligned with 21st-century education demands, particularly Deep Learning–based instruction. However, preliminary observations indicated that most teachers at SDN 1 Gulingan, Badung still faced challenges in understanding the concepts, principles, and systematic implementation of deep learning in classroom practice. This community service program aimed to enhance teachers’ competencies in applying the Deep Learning approach through training, instructional design development, hands-on classroom implementation, and continuous mentoring. The implementation applied the Participatory Action Learning System (PALS) model consisting of five stages: socialization, theoretical and practical training, integration of technology to support learning, classroom mentoring, and program sustainability reinforcement through a professional learning community. The results demonstrated a significant improvement across four competency indicators: understanding of deep learning concepts (from 48% to 88%), ability to design lesson plans using the Deep Learning framework (from 42% to 81%), use of educational technology (from 55% to 90%), and classroom implementation of deep learning (from 38% to 82%). In addition, classroom observations during mentoring indicated a shift from teacher-centered to student-centered learning, characterized by increased collaborative, exploratory, and reflective student activities. The program also produced a sustainability outcome through the establishment of an Innovation-Based Teacher Working Group (KKG) as a platform for sharing best practices and continuous professional development. In conclusion, training and mentoring based on the PALS model proved effective in improving teachers’ pedagogical competence and fostering the implementation of innovative instructional practices aligned with future education demands.

Abstract

Blacksmiths play an important role in providing metal-based tools for the community, particularly knives and machetes. However, blacksmiths in Banjar Gerih, Abiansemal Village, Badung Regency still face several problems in both production and marketing aspects, including limited access to high-quality raw materials, low production efficiency, and conventional marketing practices. This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to empower blacksmiths through training on quality production and digital marketing in order to improve product quality and expand market reach. The implementation method consisted of several stages, namely program socialization, production technique training, application of appropriate technology, digital marketing training, as well as continuous assistance and evaluation. The results show a significant improvement in the quality of knives and machetes in terms of sharpness, strength, and finishing neatness, along with increased production efficiency. In the marketing aspect, partners were able to utilize social media and marketplace platforms for product promotion and apply simple packaging and branding that increased product selling value. This program has proven to be effective in enhancing production capacity, expanding market reach, and positively impacting the partners’ income. Therefore, this PKM activity effectively improves the competitiveness and sustainability of blacksmith businesses in Banjar Gerih.

Abstract

The transition toward a circular economy has become essential in addressing environmental challenges and economic limitations in resource-based rural communities. Bentek Village, North Lombok Regency, faces persistent problems related to unmanaged bamboo waste generated from satay stick industries, which poses environmental risks and lacks economic value. This community service program aimed to accelerate the implementation of a waste-to-wealth–based circular economy by enhancing technical capacity, social entrepreneurship, and digital marketing skills. The target partners were the Kelompok Tani Hutan (KTH) “Lengkah Pangkok” and the youth organization Karang Taruna “Bareng-Bareng,” involving 40 participants. The program employed a participatory action research approach through stages of socialization, focus group discussions, training on bamboo waste processing into organic fertilizer and bio-briquettes, social entrepreneurship strengthening, infrastructure development, and continuous mentoring and evaluation. The results indicate an average competency improvement of 40.3% based on pre-test and post-test analyses, covering technical knowledge, social entrepreneurship, and digital marketing competencies. Qualitatively, the program enhanced environmental awareness, community participation, the establishment of two new waste-based business units, and reduced bamboo waste by approximately 60%. These findings demonstrate that a community-based circular economy approach is effective in promoting social empowerment, economic resilience, and environmental sustainability at the village level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and evaluate the concept of mindful learning-based mathematics instruction at the Center of Excellence School, SMK Negeri 5 Denpasar. This study used a mixed methods approach that combines quantitative and qualitative analysis, involving teachers and students as respondents. The research instrument was a teacher and student questionnaire that underwent validity and reliability testing. The test results showed that all statement items had an r-value above 0.30 and a Cronbach's Alpha value above 0.90, thus declaring the instrument valid and reliable. The data analysis revealed that teachers had a positive perception of the implementation of mindful learning-based mathematics instruction, as it was considered capable of increasing student learning awareness, focus, and active engagement in the learning process. Meanwhile, the analysis of student questionnaires indicated that the mindful learning approach provided a more reflective learning experience, increased learning motivation, and helped students understand mathematical concepts more deeply. The findings of this study indicate that the concept of mindful learning-based mathematics instruction has the potential to improve the quality of mathematics instruction in vocational education and is relevant for implementation at SMK Negeri 5 Denpasar as a Center of Excellence School.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a digital-based mathematics learning model with a differentiation approach that suits the characteristics of tenth-grade students at SMAN 7 Denpasar. The study used a mixed methods approach, combining qualitative exploration through interviews, observations, and focus group discussions (FGDs) with teachers and education experts, as well as quantitative measurement through questionnaires to assess the model's effectiveness and acceptability. The results show that the developed model consists of four main components: digital data-based differentiation planning, adaptive learning implementation through an interactive platform, integrated digital assessment, and adaptive reflection and feedback. The implementation of this model increased student engagement, motivation, and mathematics learning outcomes by 12–18% compared to conventional learning, while simultaneously reducing mathematics learning anxiety. This model provides practical guidance for teachers in designing learning that is responsive to differences in student abilities and learning styles. The research findings confirm that digital integration and learning differentiation are strategic innovations for improving the quality of mathematics learning in the digital era and supporting the implementation of the Independent Curriculum.

Abstract

Literasi dan numerasi merupakan kompetensi dasar yang sangat penting dalam pembelajaran matematika di abad ke-21. Pembelajaran matematika tidak hanya dituntut untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berhitung, tetapi juga kemampuan memahami, menafsirkan, dan menggunakan konsep matematika dalam berbagai konteks kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan literasi dan numerasi dalam pembelajaran matematika di SMA serta menganalisis strategi penguatan literasi dan numerasi dalam konteks pembelajaran abad ke-21. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian melibatkan 9 guru matematika dan 100 siswa di SMA Negeri 7 Denpasar. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi pembelajaran, wawancara semi-terstruktur, dan studi dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan, dengan teknik triangulasi untuk menjamin keabsahan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan literasi dan numerasi dalam pembelajaran matematika telah terintegrasi melalui penggunaan soal kontekstual, aktivitas membaca dan menafsirkan masalah, komunikasi ide matematis, serta penerapan konsep matematika pada situasi nyata. Siswa didorong untuk memahami konteks masalah sebelum melakukan perhitungan dan menginterpretasikan hasil penyelesaian. Strategi penguatan literasi dan numerasi dilakukan melalui penguatan verbal dan non-verbal yang diberikan secara segera, bervariasi, dan berorientasi pada proses berpikir siswa. Penguatan tersebut berkontribusi pada peningkatan motivasi, keaktifan, dan kepercayaan diri siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika. Simpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa praktik penguatan merupakan strategi pedagogis yang efektif dalam mendukung penguatan literasi dan numerasi pada pembelajaran matematika abad ke-21. Integrasi literasi, numerasi, dan penguatan mampu menciptakan pembelajaran matematika yang lebih bermakna, kontekstual, dan berorientasi pada pengembangan kompetensi siswa secara holistik.
