Abstract

Nowadays, Smart Home technology has been widely reached by society and utilized by most people, from the upper to the middle class, with various brands and products including its features. Smart Home Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (SH-UPI) is a commercial smart home platform, a new player in this technology business. UPI Academics developed the SH-UPI platform; they successfully commercialized a smart LED Bulb (RGB lamp). The product is managed by a particular Android application, i.e., SH-UPI Apps; it can be downloaded on the Play Store or the official website. However, based on information from the developer, this application has yet to consider good UI/UX aspects during production. Therefore, it is highly necessary to redesign the SH-UPI application to give users a more comfortable (user-friendly) and is competitive against other competitors. The SH-UPI Apps was redesigned using the Design Thinking framework. This method comprises five stages: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. This preliminary study focuses on the Empathize, Define, Ideate, and Prototype stages. The results reveal that the Emphatize stage has been carried out well, which concludes that the application needs to be redesigned to improve the user experience’s quality. A mock-up for the new SH-UPI Apps version has been introduced in the Define to Ideate stages. The results of this study can be used as a reference for developing SH-UPI Apps with much better UI/UX. Afterward, the study will continue to further stages: Test.

Abstract

This paper reports a design of Broadband RF Power Amplifier TDD 4G LTE operating at frequency 2,3 GHz – 2,36 GHz, according to the working frequency of the service provider Smartfren’s BTS. This RF Power Amplifier uses class A amplifier with GaN HEMT transistor type CREE CGH40120F. This design is simulated using Advanced Power Design program (ADS) version 2014. The simulation results show that the Power Amplifier is stable (K> 1) at a frequency of 2.3 GHz with the S11 and S22 match, generating 43.44 dBm output power 22,08 Watt with a gain of 10.5 dB, return loss of <-5 dB, and maximum power supply efficiency of 39.8%.

Abstract

During the pandemic, the lack of information dissemination on Ranca Upas Camping Grounds resulted in a lack of visitors because they were not aware of the health protocols that had been implemented. The community service aims to help disseminate information by making a promotional video containing the application of 3M and equipment for implementing health protocols in tourism areas. The aim is to support the management in promoting Ranca Upas Camping Ground Tourism so that it can attract tourists to return to traveling during the new normal period. The method of implementing community service activities consists of the preparation stage, implementation, and evaluation. This activity produces digital products in the form of promotional video as an effort to recover tourism visitors from Ranca Upas Camping Grounds in adapting to new habits. The tourism manager stated that the product helps in disseminating information so that tourists can find out about the health protocols that have been implemented.

Abstract

Children who lack motivation and interest in learning and reading often demonstrate apathy and are easily discouraged, leading to a lack of concentration on their educational pursuits. As a result, these students face challenges in their academic journey. Therefore, it is crucial to make concerted efforts to enhance children's literacy by implementing the reading aloud approach, which can positively influence their overall growth and development in the Rusunawa Ciseureuh Purwakarta community. The primary objective of this program is achieved through the utilization of the reading-aloud technique. The anticipated outcomes of this program encompass increased children's motivation and interest in literacy, which will be supported by supplementary elements such as incorporating enjoyable learning techniques, engaging in gardening activities, decorating pots, and providing incentives for participating children.

Abstract

The LEPPIM Intensive Class (LIC) 2023 is an annual work program organized by the Department of Student Resource Development (DPSDM), serving as the first cadre level for new LEPPIM UPI Purwakarta 2023 students. The goal of the LEPPIM Intensive Class 2023 is to provide a comprehensive understanding of writing ethics and the scientific essay structure. The method employed involves creating a training concept through lectures featuring professional speakers. The level of student understanding is evaluated by comparing pre-test and post-test results, which are conducted using Google Forms. Upon comparing the pre-test and post-test results, it was observed that there was a 15.5% increase in participants' understanding of writing ethics and a 16.3% increase in their comprehension of the structure of scientific essays. Therefore, it can be concluded that this activity has successfully enhanced the participants' understanding of writing ethics and the structure of scientific essays.

Abstract

Direktorat Jenderal Bea dan Cukai menyediakan portal layanan publik, yaitu Costums-Excise Information System and Automation (CEISA) dengan alamat domain https://portal.beacukai.go.id/. CEISA 4.0 merupakan pengembangan dari sistem CEISA berbasis website untuk melakukan proses pengawasan dalam kepabeanan dan cukai. Temuan berdasarkan hasil observasi mengemukakan permasalahan pada web based CEISA 4.0, dimana belum tersedianya upaya untuk melakukan evaluasi guna mengetahui sejauh mana kemudahan serta tujuan penggunaannya dapat tercapai, khususnya pada kantor Pengawasan dan Pelayanan Bea dan Cukai Tipe Madya Pabean A Purwakarta. Penggunaan Metode System Usability Scale (SUS) diterapkan mengingat SUS adalah usability tester yang valid walaupun dengan ukuran sampel yang kecil. Hasil akhir skor rata-rata SUS diperoleh dengan nilai 67,25 dari pengumpulan kuisioner 30 responden. Nilai tersebut menginterpretasikan bahwa penilaian pada Acceptability Ranges adalah Marginal, Grade Scale dalam skala D, dan Adjectiva Ratings dalam kategori Good. Penilaian tersebut mengemukakan bahwa penggunaan CEISA 4.0 berbasis website cukup mudah digunakan dan memerlukan pengembangan lebih lanjut. Abstract

The use of simulation can help the learner to understand complex topics, such as signals and systems. This paper presents how to teach the IC Timer (NE 555 model) for future STEM teachers. This IC is a popular active component used in various fields; it can generate square wave signals and vary the Duty cycle. This paper proposes a course consisting of eight materials; it can be taught to future STEM teachers to understand the IC Timer NE555 concept carefully. The virtual laboratory practicum was chosen as the primary approach to provide initial understanding to future teachers about the square wave generator and Duty cycle controller. Besides, virtual laboratories are the right choice in engineering courses because they can minimize the risk of damage to electronic components and measuring instruments. Once future STEM teachers pass this proposed course, they can teach students using a virtual laboratory (simulation setup) before being forwarded to a hands-on laboratory. Circuit WizardTM is the best option as a virtual laboratory because it provides the needed properties: passive components (i.e., virtually fixed resistors, electrolytic Capacitors, and Ceramic Capacitors), Active components (IC NE555), DC Sources (e.g., Battery), and Instruments (i.e., Virtual analog Oscilloscope)

Abstract

The Industrial Revolution 4.0 marked by using information and communication technology as a tool that can improve the quality of human activities. This phenomenon is also applied to efficiency of various sectors of human activities are education sector, e-commerce, health, industry, transportation and other sectors. The implementation of technology in the education through android-based learning media can create interactive and interest for students and in the industrial sector used as a marketing tool that can reach market than conventional methods. Augmented Reality (AR) is an interactive technology combines objects in the real world and virtual as visually and real time which generates information. The author implements AR in universities on computing school, especially computer hardware. Hardware characters have different structures, different functional tasks and costs. Through an AR technology called kenal hardware, hopefully the learning interaction process will be more interactive, efficient and cost-effective. The evaluation used to validate the system using a blackbox model by developers and users with four instruments includes functional requirements (91.84%), ease of use (63.27%), errors (24.49%) and interfaces (42.86%). The results of the evaluation indicate that kenal hardware can be used in learning activities to introduce computer hardware

Abstract

Kualitas air yang baik menjadi faktor utama untuk menunjukkan tingkat pertumbuhan dan kehidupan ikan didalam perairan. Kondisi kualitas air dapat berpengaruhi terhadap ikan yang berekmbang. Amonia merupakan zat pengkontaminasi paling umum dalam sistem akuakultur. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah bagaimana Internet of Things mampu melakukan monitoring kadar amonia pada kualitas pada air dari jarak jauh dengan memanfaatkan aplikasi Blynk di ponsel Android. Sistem ini dimulai dengan mengaktifkan jaringan internet dari ponsel, yang kemudian dihubungkan ke NodeMCU ESP8266 untuk melakukan pengiriman data ke Blynk. NodeMCU ESP8266 sebagai mikrokontroler receiver yang sudah menerima data ppm gas amonia dari mikrokontroler transmitter Arduino Uno dan akan menampilkan hasilnya dalam bentuk ppm ke LCD. Kemudian mengirimkan data dengan komunikasi ke interface Blynk yang merupakan data ter-update, atau data tersebut adalah data hasil pembacaan terbaru yang diukur oleh sensor tersebut. Pada penelitian ini metode yang akan digunakan dengan membandingkan jarak pengukuran. Setelah itu, dapat mengakses data gas amonia melalui Android secara real-time. Hasil pengujian yaitu sensor bekerja lebih baik dan lebih akurat pada jarak 5 cm dari permukaan air dibandingkan dengan jarak 12 cm dari permukaan air. Beberapa faktor sensor MQ-137 kurang akurat yaitu gangguan angin dan sensor MQ-137 dapat mendeteksi karbon monoksida dan dimetil ether sehingga kedua gas tersebut tidak boleh ada di lingkungan sekitar ketika MQ-137 sedang beroperasi. Sehingga sensor MQ-137 lebih ideal untuk digunakan dekat dengan permukaan air dan juga ruang lingkungan sekitar tidak terlalu terbuka.

Abstract

A company that is reliable in providing its products or services never escapes the good quality of human resources. These qualities can generally be viewed from the development and maintenance of human resources within the company. In the research conducted at PT. The Eastern Pillar of Technology, the company hopes to maximize service to its employees so that they can focus on working and the level of employee satisfaction can increase. The service in question is oriented towards Human Resource Management, where so far, every bureaucratic, administrative, and recapitulation process related to human resources has not been fully recorded and optimally documented. For example, on its implementation, employees who want to apply for leave or permission will be faced with a long bureaucratic process. On the other hand, employees must also confirm to the Human Resource Management party whether they still have leave and permit allotments or not. This causes problems in some conditions, where the occurrence of employee indiscipline in applying for leave or permits. In addition to the application and attendance process that is still done manually, it causes inconsistencies or errors in the recap of employee data. That have a bad impact on the calculation of the payroll that will be carried out. Mobile-based Employee Self Service plays an important role in solving these problems because it can display accurate data and reports for each employee, both in terms of permits, leave, overtime, attendance or even payroll calculations. This research was conducted using a descriptive research method with a data collection method through interviews and observations on the object of study. For the system development method used, the author used the prototype development method with Unified Modelling Language modelling. While in prototype development, the author uses kotlin and MySQL programming languages for his database. The result is the construction of Employee Self Service with the aim of providing easier access for employees in utilizing the facilities provided by the company, as well as minimizing errors and omissions that may occur in the employee service process.
