Abstract

The Surakarta DPRD (parliament) Public Relations utilizes Instagram social media to implement public relations strategies in building public opinion. The use of Instagram social media by the Surakarta DPRD public relations in publishing activities is less able to implement a public relations strategy. It can be seen from un up to date Instagram uploads of the Surakarta DPRD of their activities to build public opinion. The research aims to explain the implementation of the Surakarta City DPRD's public relations strategy on Instagram social media. This study used an analysis of public relations strategy theory from Cutlip, Center, and Broom (Ruslan, 2006: 351), which consists of four stages, namely, fact finding, planning, communication, taking action, and evaluation. This research was a descriptive qualitative research with primary data sources in the form of uploads on the Instagram account @dprd.kota.surakarta and secondary data in the form of informants selected based on a purposive sampling technique.This study used three methods of data collection techniques, namely interviews, observation, and documentation. The implementation of the public relations strategy by the Surakarta DPRD public relations has implemented three stages. However, there are problems in the evaluation or monitoring section of the use of Instagram social media, which has been proven through a SWOT analysis. The SWOT analysis identifies the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of each strategy used in this study. Key word: Public Relations Strategy, Public Relations DPRD Surakarta, Instagram

Abstract

Humas BNNK Surakarta mulai memanfaatkanInstagram untuk menyampaikan informasi dan edukasiterkait dengan berbagai upaya sosialisasi pencegahanpemberantasan peredaran gelap narkotika (P4GN). Penelitian ini bertujuan peran humas badan narkotikanasional kota surakarta dalam mencegahpenyalahgunaan narkotika melalui unggahan informasidan edukasi di media sosial instagram. Penelitian inimerupakan penelitian deskriptif. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknikanalisis data kualitatif model Interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa humas BNNK Surakarta menerapkan 4 peran humas, yaitu communicator, relationship, back up management, dan corporate image

Abstract

Strategy is an important component to achieve goals according to the vision and mission of a company. The effort cannot be separated from the important role of public relations (PR). Grand Sondokoro Agrotourism is one of the historical tourist attractions in Karangayar Regency, Central Jave, operating since 2007 which utilizes and develops the assets of the Tasikmadu sugar factory which are no longer in use. The existence of business competition in the tourism sector makes business people think hard to create the best strategy. The aim of the research was to explain the strategy carried out by Grand Sondokoro Public Relations in building brand awareness by utilizing Instagram using three ways strategy analysis, which consists of pull, push and pass strategy. Data collection techniques used interviews, documentation, observation. Of the 3 strategies that had been implemented by Grand Sondokoro Public Relations, there were two problems. The first problem was at the brand recognition level, namely that followers did not fully understand the uploads presented and need to provide information such as clear captions or other information that described the uploads. The second problem was brand recall, namely the lack of communication or conversations with followers on social media. sustainably.

Abstract

A parameter in assessing the translation quality is naturalness. The naturalness in translation adopted the concept of translation as an act of communication. It means that translation has a proper structure and choice of words according to a particular context. The article discusses the naturalness of translation based on pragmatic studies. The study used the utterances in the tourism text Solo Calendar of Event 2018 as data since the text had a communication function in conveying persuasive messages to tourists. In measuring the naturalness, the translation must achieve the equivalence in sentence structure and the types as well as the intended meaning of an utterance. The results indicated that the translation was categorized as fully equivalence with 70.49% of total data while the less equivalence and inequivalence of translation are 24.59% and 4.91% respectively from total data. The naturalness of translation from a pragmatic point of view requires understanding the objective of communication. It involves understanding utterance functions from the source text and achieving equivalence in translation. Translators also consider the choices of utterances since they can impact the target audience. The analysis of naturalness using pragmatic perspective offers new insight in the translation quality assessment.

Abstract

This study examines the presentation of trauma in the character of River in the film “The Architecture Of Love” through Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis, which includes three levels of meaning: denotative, connotative, and mythological. The focus of this study is on scenes that reflect trauma, categorized according to Cavanagh.M. (1982) theory as situational, developmental, intrapsychic, and existential trauma. The methodology used is descriptive-qualitative with documentation and observation techniques, where all trauma scenes are identified and analyzed in depth. The results of the study show that intrapsychic trauma is the dominant category, followed by existential, situational, and developmental trauma. The representation of trauma in the character River is conveyed through visual symbols such as dark colors, a closed language system, dim lighting, and a quiet urban atmosphere, which create emotional meaning without verbal expression. This finding confirms that films can convey complex psychological experiences through visually rich language, while also revealing new insights into non-verbal communication in film media.

Abstract

Tidal flooding is a chronic problem in the coastal areas of Semarang that requires a reliable, real-time monitoring system. This study aims to design, build, and test a prototype Internet of Things (IoT) system for tidal flood monitoring that can operate in coastal environments with limited infrastructure. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D), which includes needs analysis, system design, implementation, and experimental testing. The resulting prototype consists of an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor, an Arduino Nano microcontroller, and a NodeMCU ESP8266 communication module supported by a hybrid energy source of a 100-watt solar panel and a 12V 8Ah battery. The measured data is sent to the server and visualized on the web dashboard https://pasutmaritimsmg.store/dashboard.php and sent as an early warning notification via the Telegram application. The test results show that the system has a measurement accuracy of plus or minus 0.25 cm with a data delivery success rate of 98.2%. The system can operate independently for more than 5 days without sunlight. Validation with data from the Indonesian Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) shows a very high correlation (R² = 0.98). It is concluded that this prototype is effective as a real-time tidal flood monitoring solution and can be further developed to support an integrated early warning system.

Abstract

Public communication in efforts to prevent drug abuse faces increasingly complex challenges in the digital era, particularly in reaching young people who are strongly influenced by social media and the dynamics of their social environment. This study aims to analyze the communication strategies implemented by the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Surakarta City in carrying out the Drug Abuse Prevention, Eradication, and Illicit Trafficking Program (P4GN) oriented toward the younger generation. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews with public relations staff of BNN Surakarta City, as well as a review of program documents and communication materials. The data were analyzed using content analysis and validated through source and method triangulation. The findings indicate that BNN’s communication strategies include audience segmentation based on age and educational level, the utilization of digital media such as Instagram and TikTok, and collaboration with local public figures, micro-influencers, and youth communities. Peer-based and participatory communication approaches are considered more effective than one-way, purely informative communication patterns. Nevertheless, limitations in human resources and budget, along with the rapid flow of digital information, remain the main challenges in program implementation. This study emphasizes the importance of persuasive, adaptive, and contextual communication strategies to enhance the effectiveness of P4GN campaigns among the younger generation.
