The purpose of this study was to analyze priority strategic alternatives in sustainable management of Kenegerian Rumbio customary forest prohibitions in Kampar Regency. This research is descriptive research with quantitative research design. With the help of experts, FGD (focus group discussion) is carried out to obtain a priority hierarchy structure. Analysis method using AHP (analysis hierarchy process) technique. The research was conducted in the Area of Rumbio Kenegerian Customary Prohibition Forest Kampar Regency, Riau Province, starting from March to December 2019. The results of the study was identified that the alternative main priority strategy in the management of customary prohibited forests is the empowerment of forest area communities, following the subsequent strategy of strengthening traditional institutions. Abstract

Indonesia is known as one of the countries with the largest biodiversity in the world (megadiversity) and is the center of world biodiversity (megacenter of biodiversity). Rhizanthes loweii has a geographic distribution from Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia, and Kalimantan. In Sumatra this species has been recorded to be found in Mount Leuser, Sibolangit, Mount Dempo, South Sumatra, Penanggungan, Lampung and Bengkulu. KSNP as one of the largest conservation areas in Indonesia has a very high and diverse potential for natural resources and environmental services. TNKS also has various data objects of natural tourist attractions that have the potential to be developed, including mountains, hills, lakes and waterfalls. This research was conducted in the Kerici Seblat National Park (TNKS) Resort Sungai Lambai. The method that will be used in collecting data in this research is the path method and the determination of the observation plot is carried out by purposive sampling. Each 1 ha measuring plot counted the number of individuals with Rhizanthes loweii buds/flowers. This Important Value Index (INP) is used to determine the species composition and dominance of a species in a stand. Sungai Lambai Resort is located in Nagari Lubuak Gadang Selatan, Sangir District, South Solok Regency, West Sumatra. Nagari Lubuak Gadang Selatan is divided into five jorongs, namely, Jorong Pincuran Tujuh, Jorong Sungai Lambai, Jorong Karang Putiah, Jorong Ayia Manyuruak and Jorong Liki. The vegetation around Rhizanthes loweii contained in the research plot amounted to 32 species with seedling, sapling, pole and tree levels. The soil in this research location is generally alkaline soil. The type of clay soil is dusty, has a smooth texture, and is blackish brown in color. Habitat characteristics and distribution of Rhizanthes loweii in Kerinci Seblat National Park lives on dusty clay soil with blackish brown color and average soil pH of 7.1 (neutral). The average temperature is 23.7⁰ C and the average humidity is 80%.Keywords:  TNKS, Habitat, Distribution, Rhizanthes loweii. (Becc)

Abstract

Soil macrofauna is a part of soil biodiversity that plays an important role in the improvement soil physical, chemical and biological properties. Fires that occur will affect the activity and presence of soil macrofauna which helps the decomposition process of organic materials such as providing better environmental facilities (Micro Habitat). This research aims to know species diversity and population density of soil macrofauna on burned and unburned land in The Rumbio Customary Forest. The research was carried out in The Rumbio Customary Forest and the Soil Laboratory Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau. The sampling of soil macrofauana  was carried out on burned and unburned land in The Rumbio Customary Forest and also for measurement of soil physical-chemical factors. The research used the hand sorting method. This research showed that the population density of soil macrofauna on unburned land is higher if compared to burned land

This study aims to determine the level and form of community participation in the management of Mangrove Forests in Rawa Mekar Jaya Village, Sungai Apit District, Siak Regency. Data were collected through observation, closed interviews with 73 respondents, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively and processed with percentage techniques. The results showed that 69.87% of respondents had a low level of participation in all stages of mangrove forest management because management tended to be exclusively carried out by the Rumah Alam Bakau Tourism Conscious Group. 71.23% of respondents has a low level of participation at the decision making stage, implementation stage, and evaluation stage. 72.60% of respondents has a low participation rate at the stage of enjoying the results. Respondents who participated highly at every stage of management were those who joined the Rumah Alam Bakau Tourism Conscious Group. Forms of community participation in the management of mangrove forests are contributions of ideas / thoughts, energy, skills, and goods (property).

Abstract

Rattan is a non-timber forest product that had very high economic value. This study aims to identify the diversity of rattan species and determine the pattern of rattan distribution found in Buluh Cina Nature Tourism Park, Buluh Cina Village, Kampar District. The benefits of this research were as a source of knowledge and information about the diversity of rattan species in Buluh Cina Nature Tourism Park. The types of data collected in this study were primary data and secondary data. The stages of this research was the position of the track or transect in the field determined using the Purposive Sampling Method. Data analysis in this study was descriptive. The diversity of rattan species in the Buluh Cina Nature Tourism Park, includes six types of rattan, namely Rattan Getah (Daemonorops angistofolia), Rattan Water Sago (Calamus axillaris), Rattan Sago Air (Calamus caesius), Rattan Cacing (Calamus cilliaris), Rattan Cimoti (Calamus sp) and Rattan Tunggal (Calamus sp), with the value of  diversity index 1.03 was clasified as low. The pattern of distribution of rattan was grouped (aggregate), this is because the value of Id on each observation line more than 1 species.

Abstract

The breeding of Timor deer at the University of Riau was successful due to the high adaptability of the Timor deer outside their habitat. Maintaining the success of Timor deer breeding at the University of Riau the need for direct observation of the environment and the availability of food at the likely location of Timor deer breeding to avoid undesirable things. This research was conducted to be a reference for better management of Timor Deer's breeding efforts at the University of Riau. The materials and tools used are moisture meters, measuring instruments, cameras, compasses, tape measures, ropes, pH meters and clinometers. The method of investigation used is the census method using the path system. The study area of 2.07 ha with the census method records the water conditions, the topography, the protection of the canopy, the vegetation, the temperature and the humidity, which were not previously known. For an investigation area of 2.07 ha, a plot of 20 m width and 5000 m length is needed by drawing a line of intersection for population indications observed in the prospective breeding area. The results showed that the physical location of the potential stag breeding at Riau University could very well be determined and developed as a breeding ground for Timor stags. Suitability of Timor-Deer habitat (Cervus timorensis) at potential breeding grounds of the University of Riau supports various forest types, shade trees, feed types, roofing stratification and plant vegetation for the Timor-Deer breed (Cervus timorensis). The availability of biotics in breeding candidates is considered appropriate for the survival of the Timor-deer.
