Abstract

The Forest Reserve of Kenegerian Rumbio has various types of forest fruit plants that can be consumed, both the visitors and the community around the forest. The existence of forest fruits trees in the Forest Reserve of Kenegerian Rumbio has not been identified with certainty. This study aims to determine the number and distribution patterns of the fruit-producing trees in Panoghan zone and Sialang Layang zone of the Forest Reserve of Kenegerian Rumbio. This research was conducted by using the method of track/transect with a width of 20 meters and a length of 500 meters. The transect position in the field was determined by using Purposive Sampling technique. Based on observations from eight transects, 19 species of fruit-producing trees with the number of individuals 147 fruitproducing trees were found, which each transect has different individual number. Distribution patterns of the fruit-producing trees in the Forest Reserve of Kenegerian Rumbio were clumped with the value of Morisita Index in Panoghan zone is 1.35 and in the Sialang Layang zone is 1.13. Keywords: Distribution patterns, Fruit-Producing Trees, Morisita Index, Forest Reserve of Kenegerian Rumbio

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has abundant natural resources. The use of medicinal plants in Indonesia has started from the time of the ancestors of the Indonesia nation. Where the community has a traditional medical knowledge system using a diversity of plants around them that has been used for generations. The purpose of this study was to determine the composition of plant species and diversity of medicinal plant species that exist in the Ghimbo Potai customary prohibition forest in Kampar regency, Riau province. The research was carried out in the Ghimbo Potai customary prohibition forest area in Kampar regency, Riau province. This study used a purposive sampling method using the path system and the sampling intensity used was 2.5% or 1.75 ha from the total area of the study. The composition of plant species obtained were as many as 47 species with 26 families, while the types of vegetation that were potential as medicinal plants were 19 species with 14 families. The species diversity values obtained indicate that medicinal plants in both observation lines in Ghimbo Potai customary prohibition forest are classified as moderate or quite good with a value of 1 ≤ H’ < 3. Keywords : Families, medicinal plant, species diversity

Abstract

Honey is one of the non-timber forest products that come from animals that are still alive who have the potential to be developed and cultivated. Honey is the natural sweet substance produced by bees with the nectar of flowers raw materials. The high demand for honey at this time, affect the increase in the occurrence of counterfeit or honey products that do not pay attention to the quality of honey Indonesian National Standard ( SNI ), related to honey quality standards set by the government. The quality standards of honey in Indonesia, especially for commercial purposes, refers to the SNI 01-3545-2004. The water content of a maximum of 22 % honey, glucose content of at least 65 % b/b and the sucrose content of up to 5 % b/b.Honey processing naturally without adding chemicals to preserve the quality of honey is needed, but the treatment process takes quite a long time with limited capacity. Processing herein used is a decrease in water content by means of condensation. This study aims to determine the length of the condensation process effectively and efficiently without reducing the quality or the quality of honey with honey quality in accordance with the provisions of SNI has been determined. This study used an experimental method which consisted of 5 treatments and 3 replications, the treatment is a long process of condensing 06 hours, 12 hours, 18 hours, 24 hours and 30 hours. The results showed that long condensing 18 hours are the best results in maintaining the quality of honey, with the results of the water content of 20.33 %, 91.36 % of the content of glucose and sucrose content of 3.83%. Keywords: Honey , honey quality , condensation

Abstract

Bird in Indonesia is a protected animal and one of the biodiversity that must be preserved from extinction and the decline in species diversity which has an important role in the forest ecosystem. The purpose of this research was to determine the diversity of bird species found in Imbo Putui Customary Forest in Petapahan Village, Kampar Regency. This study uses a the point count method by following a predetermined transect path, which is divided into three observation paths. Parameters observed included bird species, number of birds, time of encounter and bird activity. The results showed that the diversity of bird species found in Imbo Putui Customary Forest was 30 bird species from 19 families. The index of bird species diversity in the Imbo Putui Indigenous Forest area shows 3.11 with a high category and the Relative Abundance Value (IKR) of bird species in each Imbo Putui Customary Forest area is low. Keywords : Bird, customary forest, animals.
