Abstract

Abstrak Ekosistem mangrove memiliki peran penting dalam menyimpan karbon dan mendukung mitigasi perubahan iklim. Hutan mangrove Bandar Bakau, Kota Dumai, Riau, merupakan lokasi kolaborasi antara Jurusan Kehutanan Universitas Riau dan LSM Rimba Satwa Foundation dilaksanakan untuk mengukur potensi simpanan karbon dan meningkatkan kapasitas masyarakat lokal dalam pengelolaan mangrove. Kegiatan ini melibatkan pelatihan teori dan praktik lapangan yang mencakup metode pengukuran dimensi pohon, perhitungan biomassa menggunakan rumus allometrik dan konversi biomassa menjadi estimasi simpanan karbon. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk pemantauan kondisi dan perhitungan biomassa karbon di hutan mangrove Bandar Bakau, Dumai. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa mangrove di kawasan ini memiliki potensi simpanan karbon yang tinggi. Kolaborasi ini berhasil meningkatkan keterampilan peserta dalam melakukan pengukuran karbon serta meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya konservasi mangrove. Kolaborasi ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model kerja sama berkelanjutan antara akademisi, LSM, dan masyarakat dalam melestarikan ekosistem mangrove untuk mitigasi perubahan iklim.

Abstract

The beehive surround forest is one of the Apis dorsata’s habitat. One of the beehive surround forest lies in Gunung Sahilan village, Gunung Sahilan district, Kampar regency, Riau province. However beehive tree less manage by local community, so that the honey’s bee from Apis dorsata more difficult to find. This research aimed to identify the species and the characteristic of beehive tree and know the preference of bee nesting in the beehive surround forest of Gunung Sahilan village. This research using purpossive sampling technique and descriptive analysis. The research results showed that the species of beehive tree in the beehive surround forest of Gunung Sahilan village is Gluta renghas Linn and Artocarpus maingayi King with the characteristic of beehive tree is wide and open canopy and dome shaped, the bark of the branch is doesn’t break and peeling, the oblique angle of the branch is under 40o with sympodial branching system. While the preference of bee nesting in the beehive surround forest of Gunung Sahilan village is Gluta renghas Linn with the quantity of nests per tree is 21 nests, high more than 40 meters and a diameter of between 100-200 cm, wide and open canopy, the oblique angle of the branch of between 20o-40o, sympodial branching system and medium sized leaves.

Abstract

Forest fires is one of the main causes of deforestation that could interfere with the preservation of forests. In 2015, there was a major fire that occurred again in Riau Province, one of them is in the village of Rimbo Panjang Kampar regency. Opening land by burning has become society’s habbit. This happens because there was no other alternative of society foropening land so they keep using fire in any opening land. This study aims to identify the information about forest and land fires that occurred in the village of Rimbo Panjang Kampar Regency, society’s perception in opening land without burning in Rimbo Panjang village of Kampar Regency and identify opportunities for incentives to the societyforopening land without burning. The results show that the number of fires from 2011 to 2015 in the village of Rimbo Panjang were 42 hotspots. Land and forest fires occur mostly during the dry season. The condition of land consist of shrubs and peat cause flammable. Society’s perception aboutopening land without burning describes that the public agrees with the activities of opening land systems without burning (PLTB) because it was considered more advantageous for the environment. The society do not know about the opportunities the incentive because the society has less knowledge about it, but if incentives are conducted, the society expect to be facilitated in the form of the provision of heavy equipment.

Abstract

Early stage in the nomination of village forest is preparing information related to village forest conditions that will be proposed in this proposal Village Pond forest. This study aims to identify the potential of timber and non-timber for the database in the nomination of the Village Pond Village forest. Besides, this study to determine the role of forests in the life of villagers Tambak.Based on the results of a survey conducted on the potential of forest products in the village of Forest found the following conclusions: In general, forest conditions and the Village Pond Village Bracelet fit in either category. It is seen by many found trees with diameter> 30 cm. The types that dominate the forest Village Pond and bracelet consists of a kind bengku (Ganua motleyana) family Sapotaceae, back baiku (Cratoxylum formosum) of the family Hypericaceae, chelates guava (Syzygium sp) family syzygium (Myrtaceae), type mersawa (Anisoptera costata ) family meranti / Dipterocarpaceae, the type of varnish (Gluta sp) family tree sap clear / membacang (Anacardiaceae), and others. The potential of forest resources that can be used by communities around the forest of village forest Pond and bracelet consists of forest resources are utilized as a tree beehive and crafts materials for the types of rattan, pandan and bambu.Hutan Village Pond contribute to society in terms of ecology related to hydrology function , economically to fulfill daily needs and social culture in which the trees in the forest Village Pond is used as a raw material for manufacturing lines.

Abstract

Inventaritation of forest is one of the activity to collect the data and information about forest resources, the potention of forest diversity also the environment as completely include of survey about statute and phisicly condition of forest, flora and fauna, human resources also the economic social condition of society arround of forest. The activity of inventaritation forest aim to identify the kinds of flora and fauna that include arround of the ecotourism forest dumai to analyze the rich of flora and fauna arround of tourism forest dumai. The result of this reseacrh showed that the category of forest like pit forest (wet) and dry forest with the position higher than pit forest located arround of river and home stay. Pit forest is one of the forest that have high volume of water it’s influenced by the rain. Revitalitation area needs to clearly the location of tourism forest dumai and revitalitation of the environment as the holistic towards of tourism forest dumai area. The society have control to participate as directly in arround of the tourism forest, there fore the guidence program and empowering society to keep the forest stand. At the plot of the observation to tree level dominate by kinds of mahang (Macarangatriloba), medang (Litsea sp.) and the kinds of meranti (Shorea sp.). the diversity of species , frequency species and dominate of species by Macaran gatriloba with the higher INP (75,68%) followed by the kinds of Litsea sp and endosperm mummalaccensis.

Abstract

Rumbio village in Kampar district Kampar regency Riau province began to be recognized by local and foreign communities due to the existence of the Forest Reserve. The Forest Reserve of Kenegerian Rumbio it stored a variety of natural resources as well as the flora and fauna typical to this area.One of the richness of the fauna in the Rumbio cutomary prohibition forest are reptiles that need preservation to avoid extinction. Research on reptile diversity is one of the efforts to preserve the existence of reptiles. The purpose of this research is to identify the types of reptiles found in Rumbio customary prohibition forest,reptile diversity known by using of Visual Encounter Survey (VES) method and Passive sampling. The results showed that the reptile species found were 116 individuals from 10 species and 5 families. Families that found such as Gekkonidae, Geomydidne, Homalopsis buccata, Colubridae, Scincidae.

Abstract

Amphibian is one of ecosystem component, as ecology or economy. Research about amphibian at Indonesia is very limited. Prohibition Forest Area of Kenegerian Rumbio Kampar Sub District Kampar Regency is one of conservation forest area had important animal to developed such as amphibian, but research about amphibian is not many yet. This research aim is for knowing amphibian species diversity in Prohibition Forest Area of Kenegerian Rumbio Kampar Sub District Kampar Regency. This research done at September-October 2016. The method that has been using is Visual Encounter Survey (VES) and made Pit Fall trap method. Amphibian species diversity that successful found are 71 individuals and 10 species. That species are Bufo melanostictus and Bufo quardriporcatus from Bufonidae family, Kaloula pulchra and Microhyla palmipes from microhylidae family, Fejervarya limnocharis, Hylarana glandulosa, Rana erythraea, Rana hosii, Rana ingeri and Rana nicobarienensis from Ranidae family. Aquatic habitat diversity index is 1,68 mean middle category, arboreal habitat is 1,25 mean low category and teresterial habitat is 1,60 mean middle category.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know margin, efficiency and profit so that it is known that marketing channel is the most profitable for the farmer and we can identify the problems faced by farmers and traders. The data colleted from farmers and traders of Simarigung Village, Village Office and BPS Humbang Hasundutan. The method used is a simple random sampling. From the research obtained that farmers and traders Simarigung Village has a cooperative relationship based on the principle of kinship, Patrilineal system on the tribe of Batak cause farmers and traders to deal with the closeness of kinship. The marketing channel of Simarigung Village is divided into 2 channels and a more profitable marketing channel for farmers is the second marketing channel. Marketing channel marketing margin I is Rp. 50.000,00 and marketing channel II Rp. 30.000,00 then efficiency of marketing channel I is 7,66% and marketing channel II is 7,33% then marketing profit of marketing channel I is Rp. 27.000,00 and marketing channel II is Rp. 8.000,00.

Abstract

Negative impacts due to development that are not environmentally friendly in urban area need to be reduced through the provision of green open-space. One of the green open-space in urban high aesthetic value and which can be used as a means of recreation is the urban forest. Urban forest that has the composition or richness of floristic tropical forests as well as the relatively large densities associated with environmental conditions such as climate, soil and light. Comformity level in Kisaran City is currently in the range uncomfortable category (HI value = >26). The management of urban forest that still prioritize aesthetic functions rather than hydrological functions has a role in determining the sense of comfort for people around the city forest

Abstract

Cultivation of Collocalia fuciphaga are non-timber forest products that can generate many profits. In the Kuok village there are people who cultivated Collocalia fuciphaga, but the less of information and knowledge of the community about cultivation of Collocalia fuciphaga, caused the Collocalia fuciphaga business has not been yet maximized, so it’s affected to the sale value of Collocalia fuciphaga nest. This research have purpose to knowledge community perception and interest about cultivation of Collocalia fuciphaga in Kuok Vilagge Kuok Sub-district Kampar Regency. The method used in this research is purposive sampling method. Respondents are selected in this research amounted to 43 respondents, 39 respondents were obtained from all Kuok villagers whose residence was within a radius of 50 m, radius 100 m and 150 m from cultivation of Collocalia fuciphaga location, and 4 respondents are entrepreneurs from cultivation of Collocalia fuciphaga. Data analysis in this research is descriptive qualitative by using percentage analysis technique. The result of research showed that, in generally the community perception of Kuok Village Kuok Sub-district has known about cultivation of Collocalia fuciphaga amounted to 63,12%. The community interest of Kuok village Kuok Sub-district to the cultivation of Collocalia fuciphaga is quite big with the percentage amounted to 63,43%, but 30.76% of community do not yet know about how to cultivate Collocalia fuciphaga properly. As many as 35.89% the community of Kuok Village do not yet know, what the things are needed in cultivating Collocalia fuciphaga.
