Abstract

This study investigates the utilization of knowledge management by Raudlatul Athfal (Islamic Kindergarten) teachers in combating radicalism, adopting a qualitative methodology with a phenomenological lens. It centers on the experiences of twelve certified teachers in Ikatan Guru Raudlatul Athfal (IGRA) from the Delanggu Sub-district, Klaten, Central Java, scrutinizing their strategies and perceptions through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The objective was to understand how teachers integrate anti-radicalism education within their pedagogical practices, emphasizing the importance of narratives, play, and interactive activities. The findings illuminate diverse interpretations of radicalism among teachers and underscore the effectiveness of collaborative efforts with parents and the community in accessing essential educational resources and further training. The study reveals a critical demand for enhancing teachers' knowledge management skills related to radicalism, advocating for targeted training programs that could significantly improve anti-radicalism education at the kindergarten level. Despite facing resource limitations, this research spotlights the potential impact of early childhood education in fostering a more tolerant and harmonious society. It suggests that upgrading educational resources, refining teacher training programs, and leveraging technology in anti-radicalism education are vital steps forward. The implications of this study are manifold, indicating the urgent need to strengthen early educators' capacity in knowledge management concerning radicalism. This supports the effective delivery of anti-radicalism education and contributes to the broader goal of nurturing a more inclusive and peaceful community. Future research should investigate the variations in teachers' perceptions of radicalism and assess the impact of knowledge management training in optimizing anti-radicalism educational strategies.

Abstract

Arabic grammar learning is challenging and complex for learners to understand. This research aims to investigate lecturers and students learning Arabic grammar with an active learning model. This research uses a qualitative research method with an investigative approach. The data was obtained through interviews with four lecturers (Nahwu and Sharaf course teachers) and four students. It was then categorized, interpreted, and analyzed. The results showed that Arabic grammar learning already uses an active learning model. This is evidenced by the following five aspects: the application of student-centered learning, the use of engaging learning media, the creation of a pleasant environment, the use of problem-solving-based learning, and teamwork/collaboration in learning. The results of this study have an excellent opportunity to be adopted in Arabic language learning by all Islamic universities around Indonesia, especially in learning Nahwu and Sharaf.

Abstract

To date, the women’s leadership in Indonesian Universities (Higher Education Institutions) is still far from equal. However, there is a new history in the placement of women’s leadership in the development of quality management at the Nahdlatul Ulama Universities (PTNU). Using an exploratory research method, this study aims to reveal the experiences of women leaders in the development of quality management and gender equality at PTNU. Data collection was carried out by in-depth interviews with 8 female leaders who held structural positions as Vice Rector, Chair of LPM, Dean, and Head of Undergraduate Program. The results of this study indicate the following 3 important points: (1) The experience of women's leadership at PTNU shows that women's leadership has gained important positions in structural positions because of (a) considerations of competence and performance, (b) the cooperative and patient attitude of female leaders which makes them to earn appreciation from all academicians, and (c) the track record of female leaders who have increasingly improved their leadership achievements in the development of quality management; (2) Supporting factors in women's leadership, influenced by support from colleagues and adequate facilities; and (3) Inhibiting factors for women's leadership in developing quality management are difficulties in dealing with different commitments from each employee, still limited competent human resources, and it is still difficult to cultivate quality. Meanwhile, the obstacles to the efforts in gender equality are the limited female human resources, the lack of willingness of women to become leaders, and overlapping jobs. Recommendations from the results of this study can be used as a basis for university leaders, especially PTNU in making policies in the domain of quality management and gender equality.

Abstract

This article is based on research conducted at nationally accredited State Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKIN) in Indonesia, which have already begun implementing the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) curriculum. The informants serving as data sources consist of 15 students participating in the International Mobility Program (IMP). A qualitative case study gathered data from interviews, observations, and documentation. The research emphasizes that the determinants of IMP success in supporting the implementation of the MBKM curriculum consist of four aspects: 1) through the ability to adapt well to a new environment, students gain learning experiences outside the campus by adjusting and respecting cultural differences in the destination country; 2) through international language proficiency, students are increasingly trained to conduct high-quality research and communicate effectively creatively; 3) through their interest in challenges and adventures in foreign campuses, students confidently present in international forums; 4) through the transformation of a global perspective, students are motivated to pursue further studies abroad and intend to participate in international programs in the following years. Understanding and emphasizing these factors is crucial for optimizing the benefits derived from international mobility initiatives within the unique context of religious higher education institutions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of the simulation model in learning Arabic vocabulary for grade 5 students at MIN 1 Bantul and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods. Data collection methods consist of interviews, observation, and documentation. The number of informants in this study were 10 people with details of 1 madrasah principal, 1 teacher, and 8 students. The analytical technique used in this research is descriptive qualitative data analysis technique with several stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing and verification. The data validity technique used credibility test, transferability test, dependability test, and confirmability test. The results of this study indicate that 1) the implementation process of the simulation model in learning Arabic vocabulary for grade 5 students at MIN 1 Bantul consists of initial activities, core activities, and closing activities. The teacher applies a simulation model to each session of learning activities. 2) In its implementation, there are several supporting and inhibiting factors. The supporting factors are a) the skills of teachers who are quite compatible in managing and conditioning the class and skilled in using simulation models in learning by repeating the mufradat taught. b) good enthusiasm of students in following lessons, and c) adequate facilities and infrastructure. The inhibiting factors include a) the teacher is faced with students who still cannot read and write Arabic, and b) students are indifferent when learning. The solutions provided by the madrasa are 1) by holding a special matriculation program for students who cannot read and write Arabic, and 2) trying to maximize the role of teachers and students in order to minimize interference by implementing a simulation model that is packaged in a fun and interesting way for the students.
