Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims: 1) To find out the parents' perspective on children's formal education and 2) To find out what factors influence the sustainability of children's education. This type of research is qualitative research. The research location is in Pakkaba Village, North Galesong District, Takalar Regency. There are three stages in this research, namely data collection, analysis and presentation of the results of data analysis/checking the validity of the data. Collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data verification strategy with data reduction, data categorization, data display, and conclusion (verification). The results of the study show that 1) the level of public knowledge of children's education is very diverse, but basically they are already aware of the importance of education for their children for the future, 2) the factors that influence the education of fishermen's children are 4 factors, namely: economic factors, environmental factors, parental education factors and motivational factors. It is hoped that parents and the community will always provide guidance and supervision of children's education, for the realization of better education and children's personality.

Abstract

AbstrakLingkungan pesisir wilayah Indonesia memerlukan strategi pemberdayaan sumber daya laut melalui bentu kearifan lokal. Salah satu kearifan lokal dalam bentuk sistem kerja yakni punggawa-sawi yang ada di desa Palalakkang Kabupaten Takalar. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan pada natural setting (kondisi alamiah) yakni pada kehidupan dan perilaku punggawa-sawi dalam kehidupannya di daratan dan di lautan. Sumber data primer dan teknik pengumpulan data, lebih banyak diperoleh dari observasi partisipasi (participation observation), dan wawancara mendalam (in depth interview). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi yang digunakan melalui sistem punggawa-sawi, dapat dilihat dari beberapa indikator, yakni: ketergantungan nelayan dengan pemilik modal, penggunaan alat tangkap antar nelayan, penentuan patron-klien kelompok nelayan, permasalahan penggunaan bom, pukat dan bahan berbahaya lainnya, perencanaan struktur kerja, tahap konservasi wilayah perairan, dan diversifikasi usaha nelayan.

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara yang rawan mengalami bencana longsor. Hal tersebut dapat mengganggu kehidupan masyarakat dan mengancam keselamatan. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu: 1) Mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan kebencanaan masyarakat dalam menghadapi bencana tanah longsor di Desa Lonjoboko, 2) Mengetahui perilaku masyarakat terhadap adanya sikap kesiapsiagaan dalam menghadapi bencana tanah longsor di Desa Lonjoboko, 3) Mengetahui hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan kebencanaan terhadap sikap kesiapsiagaan dalam menghadapi bencana tanah longsor di Desa Lonjoboko. Sampel diambil menggunakan Teknik Simple Random Sampling, sebanyak 97 orang dari 2.886 penduduk. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu: Dokumentasi, Kuesioner, dan Observasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan metode analisis deskriptif kuantitatif, analisis regresi linier sederhana untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh variabel terhadap variabel lainnya, dan melakukan uji normalitas menggunakan metode Kolmogorov smirnov dan metode grafik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tingkat pengetahuan kebencanaan didapatkan nilai rata-rata responden 65,32% yang termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Perilaku masyarakat terhadap adanya sikap kesiapsiagaan dalam menghadapi bencana tanah longsor di Desa Lonjoboko berada dikategori kurang baik, karena masyarakatnya hanya memikirkan untuk bertahan hidup, sehingga tidak meluangkan waktu untuk mempersiapkan kewaspadaannya terhadap bencana. Hasil pengujian menggunakan analisis regresi linier sederhana, maka didapatkan ada pengaruh positif pengetahuan kebencanaan terhadap sikap kesiapsiagaan warga dalam menghadapi bencana tanah longsor di Desa Lonjoboko. Hal ini berarti semakin tinggi pengetahuan kebencanaan maka akan semakin tinggi pula sikap kesiapsiagaan warga dalam menghadapi bencana tanah longsor.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are: (1) to develop encyclopedia-based natural disaster mitigation teaching material supplements in geography learning in Senior High School, (2) to measure the level of validity of encyclopedia- based natural disaster mitigation teaching material development in geography learning in Senior High School and (3) to measure the level of practicality of encyclopedia-based natural disaster mitigation teaching material development in geography learning in Senior High School. This research is a type of research and development (R&D). The model used is the ADDIE model with five stages namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The instruments used in this research are product validity and practicality instruments. The results of this study are 1) products that are declared valid based on product validity tests conducted by 3 expert validators namely; learning design experts, material/content experts, and linguists with an average assessment score from the three validators of 4, 74 and are in the valid category, 2) products that are declared practical based on product practicality tests conducted by 14 test subjects namely students in class XII SMA Negeri 3 Takalar and 1 practitioner namely geography subject teacher with a percentage of assessment response of 86%. Thus it can be concluded that the encyclopedia-based natural disaster mitigation teaching materials developed are valid and practical. Natural disaster mitigation teaching materials that have been declared valid and practical can then be used in learning geography in high schools, especially on natural disaster mitigation material.

Abstract

Reducing disaster risk is an important thing that needs to be done at all levels of society, including students. This study aims to determine students' level of preparedness for flood disasters and the efforts made by schools in dealing with flood disasters. This study used a descriptive quantitative method conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Jeneponto. The population in this study was 95 students, with a total sample of 49 students determined using the Slovin formula with a ten percent margin of error. The data collection techniques used questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The research results were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results of the study showed that knowledge of attitudes, emergency response plans, disaster warning systems, and students' disaster preparedness when a flood disaster occurs are included in the "very prepared" category. This research has implications for school practice in terms of developing a school curriculum that includes material on natural disasters and risk reduction, as well as training teachers and educators to teach and communicate about natural disasters to provide appropriate information to students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is; (1) Knowing the factors that affect the Bajo Tribe move from sea to the mainland of the Tanete Riattang Timur Bone Regency; (2) Knowing the survival strategy of the Bajo people living on the mainland of Tanete Riattang Timur Bone Regency. This research was carried out in Bone regency Tanete Riattang Timur district Bajoe village precisely in the Bajo tribe. This type of research is qualitative using case studies. The technique of collecting data is done through observation, interviews, literature review and documentation. The informants of this study are customary leaders, Bajo tribe people, Bajoe village heads, Bajo ward heads, non-Bajo tribes who live in the Bajo environment. The Bajo people who will be interviewed are chosen randomly and the number of informants is determined according to the needs of the researchers, as well as the non-Bajo people. The results of research that has been carried out concerning the survival strategy of the Bajo Tribe in the mainland of Tanete Riattang Timur Bone Regency shows that (1) Bajo people in the mainland occupy the Bajo Environment area on the basis of the local government by providing land and property rights certificates. They also feel comfortable with the life they are living in by living on land but their daily activities remain at sea. (2) The survival strategy still relies on income as a fisherman and there are a number of side jobs such as farming, gardening, or as carpenters. Another thing that is also done by selling possessions or borrowing from relatives to fulfill their life needs is also those who open small businesses at home for women such as opening small substations or salons to increase their income to meet their daily needs.

We sincerely express our apology for the changes in the author list in the article entitled Patorani local knowledge system in fisheries resources conservation education in Galesong District South Sulawesi. This article was published on DOI: 10.17977/um017v28i12023p52-63, with the authors list consisting of Hasriyanti, Rusdi, Alonge Titus Adeyemi, Michel E. D. Chaves, and Erman Syarif. However, Michel E. D. Chaves issue a complaint regarding his involvement during the research and paper completion. He did not agree to the inclusion of his name in the author list. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan : 1) untuk mengetahui bentuk konservasi nelayan patorani dalam konservasi wilayah pesisir dan laut di Kecamatan Galesong Kabupaten Takalar, dan 2) mengidentifikasi nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam budaya patorani sebagai sumber belajar Geografi di Sekolah Menengah Atas. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus. Sumber data diperoleh dari informan dengan melakukan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bentuk konservasi nelayan patorani yakni nilai, norma, kepercayaan, pengetahuan, alat tangkap, dan kasipalli (pantangan), dan nilai-nilai budaya patorani antara lain: 1) nilai adaptasi lingkungan, 2) nilai integritas keruangan, 3) nilai keseimbangan, 4) nilai kesinambungan, 5) nilai ketaatan, 6) nilai kebersamaan, 7) nilai keselarasan, 8) nilai gotong royong, dan  8) nilai budaya. Nilai-nilai budaya lokal patorani penting untuk diketahui oleh peserta didik sehingga dapat dijadikan sebagai sumber belajar dalam pembelajaran Geografi. Abstract:  This study aims: 1) to determine the form of conservation of patorani fishermen in the conservation of coastal and marine areas in Galesong District, Takalar Regency, and 2) to identify the values contained in patorani culture as a source of learning geography in high school. This type of research is a qualitative research using a case study approach. Sources of data obtained from informants by conducting observations, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing/verification. The results showed that the forms of conservation of patorani fishermen are values, norms, beliefs, knowledge, fishing gear, and kasipalli (abstinence), and the values of patorani culture include: 1) environmental adaptation values, 2) spatial integrity values, 3) values balance, 4) the value of sustainability, 5) the value of obedience, 6) the value of togetherness, 7) the value of harmony, 8) the value of mutual cooperation, and 8) the value of culture. The values of the local patorani culture are important for students to know so that they can be used as learning resources in learning geography.

Abstract

Assistance in reading the Al-Quran is a service to the community as an effort to implement the tri dharma of higher education. This is done to increase students' motivation and interest in reading the Al-Quran. The learning assistance method used is to provide direct learning assistance, namely community service program implementers, Ustadzah and students reading the Al-Quran directly and face to face. Assistance in reading the Al-Quran was carried out at TPQ As Salma Maronde. The mentoring process carried out went well and smoothly. The results obtained from assistance in reading the Al-Quran at TPQ As Salma Maronde are as follows: 1) Increasing motivation and interest in reading the Al-Quran for TPQ As Salma Maronde students, 2) Providing direct assistance to TPQ As Salma Maronde students in reading and writing Al- Quran, 3) Assistance in reading the Al-Quran is fun and can increase the motivation of the students. Abstrak Pendampingan membaca Al-Quran ini merupakan pengabdian kepada masyarakat sebagai upaya pelaksanaan tri dharma perguruan tinggi. Hal ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan motivasi serta minat santri membaca AlQuran. Metode pendampingan belajar yang digunakan dengan memberikan pendampingan belajar secara langsung, yakni para pelaksana program pengabdian kepada masyarakat, Ustadzah dan santri membaca Al-Quran secara langsung dan tatap muka. Pendampingan membaca Al-Quran ini dilakukan di TPQ As Salma Maronde. Proses pendampingan yang dilakukan berjalan dengan baik dan lancar. Hasil yang diperoleh dari pendampingan membaca Al-Quran di TPQ As Salma Maronde sebagai berikut: 1) Meningkatkan motivasi dan minat membaca Al-Quran santri TPQ As Salma Maronde, 2) Pemberian pendampingan langsung kepada santri TPQ As Salma Maronde dalam baca dan tulis Al-Quran, 3) Pendampingan membaca AlQuran terasa menyenangkan dan dapat meningkatkan motivasi para santri.

Abstract

Through competent, intelligent, sustainable and long-term oriented human resources, the optimization and success of further development of natural resource management can be achieved. The PKM activities carried out combine lecture and discussion methods. This PKM activity aims to: 1) increase coastal community knowledge about resource conservation, 2) increase coastal community awareness about resource conservation, and 3) form environmentally friendly coastal community behavior. The results of the service showed that the participants' knowledge and involvement in protecting resources had increased. Coastal and marine areas must be utilized sustainably and implemented responsibly.
